I like all the cute ones from Abra to Zapdos. (Yeah I think Zapdos is cute so what scream ) My favorites that I'm unable to get due to the fact I don't have Firered or LG are Nintails, all three starters form Gen 1, and a long list of heart breaks) Oh well I pre-order HeartGold for Christmas. I won't fall totally behind anymore.

to answer you, and to answer both questions same-timely
Jirachi
As a legendary it becomes my fave legendary, but as far as allpokemon go, Jirachi is my fave, and from my seeing him will always be my fave
but i actually have a list
Kanto:
Scyther, Charizard, Starmie, Zapdos, Mew, Moltres
Johto:
Scizor, Sneasel, Typhlosion, Suicune, Ho-oh, Lugia
Hoenn:
Blaziken, Ludicolo, Gardevoir, Registeel, Deoxys Defense, Jirachi
Sinnoh:
Infernape, Gallade, Weavile, Dialga, Palkia, GiratinaO
as for the oens i like shiny:
Scyther, Senasel/Weavile, Gallade, Gardevoir, Blaziken, Ludicolo and starmie are the ones of those lists that i like shiny
i do like the shiny jirachi, but sametimely, i prefer the regular color for him
