Yeah there's too much to point out with how bad this website is. I think it might rival or out do SRW on the level of fail when it comes what they claim as "legit" and "scholarly".

I HAVE to share this. It's an article written by a very decent local journalist. The problem is that it explores a '3rd-degree witch of the Avalonian tradition' and his beliefs and practices. This wouldn't bother me if he didn't go on to say they were the beliefs and practices of ALL PAGANS.

Yeah, I hope they publish your letter. Also, did I really see an article called Why God Made Us in that paper? I can see why you were surprised to see that article on the witch guy at all then.

Yeah, my local area isn't "BURN THE WITCHES!" but they're not exactly accepting, either. It doesn't help that the majority of local pagans are super fluffy ENPs that either think they're Wiccan or Mega-Awesome-HPS-O'-Teh-Gawddess.

Seriously, anyone wanna move up here and help me de-fluff the masses?

Sigh...and that is why we need people who know what they are saying to come out, and educate people. Charmed is not a Wicca primer.

}i{ I just met a guy who honestly believed that he had a spell that would allow him to turn into a wolf. And when I calmly and politely asked where he found the spell, what herbs it used, and why he believed it was real, he got offended and called me ignorant for "not allowing myself to believe in the possibilities". Then went on to rant about how werewolves are real, and how one day he hopes to become one. stare

I was offering to share the basic knowledge I have with him, since I'm not initiated into any coven, and when I told him that nothing I'd ever read had given any proof to transfiguration such as that, he stopped listening. Because he didn't like what I was telling him, he wouldn't listen.

It sucked too, cause he was cute and I really liked him. }i{

Awesome, time to read through the pages now. A couple on the first page already look like the ones I've gotten from a book, and other online sources. >,<

EDIT// Here is the very first wicca website I found.
I haven't really gone there since sharing it in a hangout thread. Lol. A certain someone had already pointed out a few bad things here and there. I kept the link though to share my first step into wicca. Haha. Embarrassing start, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.
I did like the questions on there, which helped me a lot on finding out what it was I liked and didn't like about religion. Also, what witchcraft or wicca meant to me.
