What is it about a holiday or event that really makes it a done deal for you? I mean in this in two different ways. Say that you're Christian for example, and you celebrate Christmas. Do you feel like it's not Christmas until you see it snow? Or do you not feel like it's Christmas until you wrap your first gift? What about New Years? How many of us celebrate with parties? Or, how many people in the USA like to watch the ball drop?
For me, I only feel like it's a new year when I have to fix the date on checks. I think that's because I don't do that much to celebrate the New Year. Resolutions are something I don't have much stamina for, and I usually end up forgetting about them xD Maybe someday I'll take it more seriously... lol

I like having a party or get together with friends! It would be cool to have a Japanese themed party next year! Since both of us will be back in Maine and everything. heart That way we can hang out with awesome people! Like Axel and Bri and Guin! * Plus having it Japanese themed gives us a excuse to dress up!

Most likely I will not celebrate this New Years (my family barely even celebrated the one just two days ago).
I'm sure to be watching the New York's celebration on t.v. while eating chocolate and using the computer.But hey, here's a good link that summarizes how New Year's is celebrated around the world: www.123newyear.comLet me know if y'all have problems with the link provided.

No matter if I get presents, good food or whatnot, it doesn't feel right if people aren't around. [/dadtwoyearsago] You just can't get into the spirit...

A holiday happens when I start to get festive. So Christmas is when I get my tree and put up decorations and listen to Christmas music.
New Year's involves some minor feasting, and this year, party poppers with paper hats, bad jokes, and lame toys! It was a pretty good time!

I used to feel that holidays really began when I started buying gifts, or started decorating. But now, I realize that it's the atmosphere for me. If I'm not around my friends or boyfriend; gifts, decorations, and the holiday in general is mediocre.

Thats so cool you guys that you all agree on needing people around you in order to be fully excited and stuff. Maybe that's why I have a hard time getting in the mood for it. I'm usually alone on New Years. My parents have people over but it's not enough people or people of the right ages for it to actually entertain me. xD;
