The Basics
Gimmick: When creating a Character the Gimmick is one of the key components. Your character's Gimmick says a lot about him or her personality. Your Gimmick will be the driving force for character. For example.. If your character is a loner is not gonna brood well with others, and will mostly keep to himself. Typical Loners.. Anyways... If your Character Gimmick is that of a Party Goer. He/She is going to be very out going, and social. He/She will have more friends. Or lets say your Gimmick is that of a Spoild Person. He/She is mostly like going to be stuck up and snobby. No one will like him or her and he will most likely think very highly of him or herself.
-NO MMA: Please, please God... Don't start off '-Insert name here- Used to be in MMA and won -Insert amount- titles'. The whole MMA thing is getting REALLY over-used, mainly if you claim your character was an MMA star.
That's a big NO NO! Seriously, what in the world would make a MMA fighter want to go into wrestling? We saw that with Daniel Puder in WWE and it was an epic fail. Not to mention that an MMA fighter is trained to punch and kick, so how in the blue hell could he start doing some really complicated wrestling moves?
Dark characters: Don't make a ******** Undertaker rip-off, please. We've seen enough, and they all end the same. There isn't a problem with having a dark character, if you can be creative with it and show us something we wouldn't usually expect. But don't do anything that has already been done, especially in real wrestling promotions.
Style: Your style is very simple. Is your character a Powerhouse, someone very strong and powerful. Or a Lucha Dor, someone very fast and light. Capable of taking to the air rather easily. Maybe your character's style is a Monster. Someone near impervious to pain, and very very powerful. Now lets get one thing straight. Some Styles and Gimmicks will not mix well together. For example... A Hippie Gimmick and Monster Style will not make much sense and will make your character into a joke.
Appearance: Depending on your gimmick. Your character will have a certain look. Let's say your character is a Loner. He/she is probably going to be wearing dark clothes, same for a Dark/Demonic Gimmick. Let's say your character Gimmick is that of a Superhero. He/She will most likely be wearing bright colors and tights. Just like your Gimmick your appearance says a lot about your character.
Simple, don't use images of current wrestlers, dead wrestlers, MMA fighters, or retired wrestlers. Infact, go to Tektek.org for your appearances, or Chrono/Yuke (But he will charge). Your choice
Physic: Lets get real. If your style is that of a Lucha Dor. He is not going to be 7 Foot tall, and weight over 300 pounds. It just doesn't make sense. Know I know it's possible for 300 pounders to do flips but it is impractical and rather ridiculous.
Personality: Based on your Gimmick your personality will be pretty much set. Say your character is a hippie. He is probably going to be very mellow and down to Earth. If he is a Loner.. He is probably very easily in raged, and probably lacks a sense of humor. Say your guy is Superhero is probably very nice and forgiving. However A Superhero can be very stern and will most likely stand up for what he believes in.
Move-Set: Depending on your Style and Physic your moves limited. A Monster is not gonna have Shooting Star Press in he's arsenal. It just won't happen. Say your character is rather small and scrony. He/She is probably going to limit him or herself to mat based moves and strikes, and or aerial attacks. Lucha Dors can not lift someone over they're head.
If you character is a lightweight, don't have him doing major lifting moves. If your character is a heavyweight, don't have him doing mega-quadruple flips off the top rope. Simple.
Finishers
Please, take out all the F-5, F-U, Canadian Destroyer, RKO, Codebreaker Super Kick, Corkscrew Moonsault, Lionsault, Sharpshooter, and Swanton Bomb from the G-Fed world. It has been used more times than the total of women Tiger Woods cheated his wife with. When people say "be original", it's not only in the gimmick...
Abilities: This two also depends on your Style and Physic. A Monster is not going to be fast. A Cruiserweight/Lucha Dor is not going to be strong. They will most likely be fast and agile. If your character has a Powerhouse Style, and is roughly the size of John Cena. Then your character is going to be moderately quick and very powerful.
Origins/Hometown: If you use 'From The Depths of Hell', 'The Abyss', 'Unknown', or 'Pensacola, Florida', you might as well quit while you're ahead. Sorry Tim, I had to do it! -Punkology
Height: Keep it within plausible limits, please. Anything higher than 7-feet tall is really pushing it.
Weight: Anything over 400 pounds if considered a lard-a**. No, it cannot be 'pure muscle'.
