Calla relaxed somewhat as Ana returned to her usual joking self. She nodded at Ana’s words, still struggling with her own. She knew how Ana felt about secrets, about lies, and though she would never be able to agree with the sentiment she could still respect it. She wasn’t about to force her dear friend to change her beliefs. Partly because it wasn’t right and partly because she knew she’d never win that fight. It simply wasn’t worth it. After all, if everyone believed the same wouldn’t that be a very dull world to live in. Conflict was something Calla thrived on, though it was one of the things she hated being in the middle of herself. She was an observer, meddling here and there but never staying for long. Never letting herself get pulled in. Though look where that had gotten her, Lieutenant, with Alister, and with two young children. “No Ana.” She shook her head, “I’m tired of this one Ana. I want it gone. But I can’t seem to make it leave.” Whispered words as the woman drew her into a hug. Calla wouldn’t struggle. It had been so long since she had given herself a chance, it had been so long since she had even had a friend to go to. She knew that Ana would let her take as long as she needed, but it was time. It was time that she made this leave her alone. She would never be able to raise her family if she had this constantly haunting her, hanging over her head. And right now the only one she could trust with this was Ana, she only hoped the woman would know how to help her get through this. That somehow Ana would know how to put this behind her and allow her to finally look towards her present with pride and towards her future with hope.
