I may be moving to Texas. It is hot there, obviously. What kind of Victorian clothing can I wear for summer?

light cottons and silks, vests instead of jackets until winter, and I recommend lightweight pants too.

Do you not see the irony of him posting this thread on New Year's Eve??

Well he has to be prepared in advance, you know.
Victorian clothing was not designed with warm weather in mind in England even the summers can be damp and breezy. Keep your fabrics as light weight as possible and revert to lighter shades in color. Tans and whites repel sun light far better than darker colors.

Texas? Yikes, even most vests are out of the picture then. I remember San Antonio in particular as being horrific! Practicaly the south.
Anyways, the best advice I can give you is to watch a few episodes of Deadwood. They had a higher tolerance for sure, but some of the ideas (such as loose button downs with airy canvas pants and suspenders) are very workable, as well as being casual enough for everyday wear.
The one thing to resist the urge to slip on, though, is flip-flops xd

Natural fabrics are your best bet. You don't have to change too much, except for wearing lots of dark colors, just make sure it's natural.
Synthetics will keep in heat and sweat, natural fabrics will easily breathe and wick away sweat.

Linen may wrinkle but it is now your best friend. Heck, you could always look at cowboys. They made it work somehow.
I think you just have to get used to being hot. I live in Georgia and that's pretty much what I've done. My pants are light weight but I can't even feel air through my two vests and thick shirt u.u
