I've started looking into face masks with T shaped visors, but so far none of them looks too promising.

That would be really cool. I know that they have clone trooper helmets but they're kid sized. (little kid sized) I just checked amazon and ebay. The closest they have is a clone trooper replica helmet which I assume would fit an adult.

I say we have a blacksmith make us the metal shell, then we take apart a walkie talkie, and a crap tracfone, and put the pieces in with separate buttons and fancy mikes, then we put like the inside of a motorcycle helmet inside for padding.

There's a few sites you can get to, and I have a template for making Mando helmets but Falcon, your idea was similar to what I had in mind later on. I was looking for these simply because I haven't the time to make something really special myself.
Ultimately my goal is to have, at least helmet wise, A non-traditional looking Mando helmet, made of sheet metal or, if I can scrounge up enough, Kevlar. The mic and head set is easy enough. Just take apart a radio that operates on actual frequencies, like an EFJhonsen or a HAM and make housings for the in ear pieces and the mic within the helmet and pad it accordingly. The finished product will look much like Rohlan Dyre's armor, though a lighter version that offers more maneuverability. I'm also going to personalize it by making the visor, by special order if I have to, out of Oakley ballistic lenses. There's also going to be a human skull design on the front of the helmet, similar to that worn by Ghost from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I'll get it drawn up and you all can see what I'm talking about.

I like the idea don't get me wrong but this could get quite pricey. Because you would also have to get someone to put in the T-shaped glass. I have found that having unusual things custom made is tricky because you have to find someone willing to take an unusual order and then find one with a reasonable price. Also finding someone who has good quality work on top of this is even harder.

I can somewhat where you're going with it. If it works as well as I imagine it could it would be really sick. It would also give you a physical and possibly psychological edge in an airsoft match.

When do you plan on starting this project? Whenever you do please post some pictures of it. I'd love to see how it comes out. (By the by I'm starting an air soft team with a friend of mine and some kids in our neighborhoods.)

This will not be something I can start on very soon. I'm still in Iraq and, as my activity has suggested, don't have all the free time in the world. xD But, once I come back to the states I'll be looking into it, ordering the stuff I need and all that jazz.
