Chiu Nanako English Horn?
Or a Euphonium, which is similar to a Baritone. Oh yeah, English Horn! Most people in my band didn't know what it was until I had to play it...I had to explain it to this trombone player in pit orchestra. I was holding the oboe and the english horn, and I was just like, "See this? It's bigger. And it's in F." xd
I think people usually just think that Euphonium and Baritone are the same thing. I mean, my band teacher in middle school even told us that they were the same thing. ...Yeah.

English horn. Tomorrow morning, I am proving to my band that it is not the stuff of myth. Oh, they've seen mellophones and bari saxes and baritones and contrabassoons - but this'll be the first time they've seen the English horn. ;3
Also, alto, bass, and contrabass flute. I hadn't even seen an alto or contrabass until June of last year.

French horns aren't really a common instrument in my schools. Two at the middle and one at the high school. It used to be three at the middle school... Till I switched. xD Haha. I play an even more uncommon instrument now, bassoon. When I was unpacking in the band room one time, every started crowding around me. xD And one of our percussionists was like, "Mr [Insert Crazy Band Teacher Name Here], I don't know what that sound is!" It was me playing in a separate room for extra practice. xD I'm sure mellophones are more uncommon than f horns. I used to not know what a mellophone was till the middle of my 6th grade year. xD

around here, most people don't know what my bass clarinet is last year, some flute player looked at it and asked me, "why is your sax so long? and.. black?" FACEPALM
for some reason a lot of people either see it and think that's it's an alto clarinet or a bassoon i can sort of understand alto clarinet.. but bassoon?
it also makes me wonder how they know about alto clarinets, but no bass since bass is more common
