Ugh... The suburbs. As the saying goes, "You can put a country boy in the city, but you can't take the country out of him." this too applied to a certain young man. To some extent. He was more of an urban traveler, but that was closer to the country than the cirty. He hated all the people, the pollution, the noise, the rushing. A grimace wrinkled on his face.
He was leaning against a fence that inclosed farm grounds. It was on the outskirts of the city, and he was staring at the last of his comfort. And his wishes. The man's exotic tan skin was glistened with persperation. It had been a hot day, and he looked forward to the evening cool. But he wore no shirt, as usual, so he wasn't complaining. A black bandana with three rings attatched at the lip covered the front of his head of curly crimson hair. His eyes stayed narrowed in a relaxed position, as his elbows proped him up against the fence. On the opposite side of the road in front of him was another fenced in farm acre. Inside was his dream. A heard of Mareep's. He watched as they grazed so peacefully, a few of the babies joshing around their parents. Grinning in awe at their state, he gave a sigh. When will that be me..? black bracers were on his forearms, tight to the skin, and flexed as an idle finger stroked along a Poke Ball attatched to his belt. He chose to wear his gray grungy jeans due to today's weather. Comfort and conveniance. The bottoms tucked into his metal boots that lined up his calves. He traveled light. Mostly because he had ran into a rough group on his journy here. They took most of his gear, but he really didn't care much. He still had his money and his Pokemon, and that's all that really mattered. His companion needed to go to a Poke Center though due to the encounter. For his HP was low enough that another battle might not last. Giving another moment to take in the wonderful sight, the man stood up, hitting 6'1 easily, and looked to the city. Playing with a cuff on his ear, he groaned and started to the bright lights.

On his way into the city, the smoke from a fire could be seen. Not a house fire or a forest fire, but a small campfire in front of a large patched tent. Cooking on this fire was hot oatmeal and tending to it was a rather well groomed Delibird. The reason he, and not his trainer, was taking care of their dinner was made apparent when one got closer to the tent.
A tall woman with long green hair was seated by the tent flap, tending to the injured back leg of a young teddiursa. Her hands looked soft and gentle as they applied salve to the young one's hurt. He whimpered and kicked a tad, but she held him steady. It was almost magical to watch her take care of a pokemon like this, and so different from how it was done in the city, but just putting a ball on a machine and pressing a button. But then, some injuries were harder to deal with then small battle ones.

As he approached closer, his eyes still gazing at the farmland around him, a flicker of light caught his brilliant teal eyes. Bllinking once, he saw that someone was camped right outside of the city. Well. In between where the farms ended and the mini woods began. Cocking up a brow, he continued at his pace. Not really caring to make aquaintances, he kept his eyes back on the road. He was already feeling awkward enough going into a city he didn't know, making introductions with a random women was out of the question.
As he came closer to her small set up, he glanced at it again to make sure everything was alright, and continued onward.

Steve glanced up and waved politely. "Hey there." she called, but seemed a bit more concerned with taking care of her partner than really socializing.
However, a very curious Zigzagoon darted out from in the tent and moved to sit at the man's feet and greet him with noises and a flicking tail.
(Ooc: Sorry, had to throw Wilfred in there XD I don't think our trainers would meet otherwise)

Wincing as he heard her voice, he knew that there was no getting around this one. Slowly turning his head, he gave her a fake smile and waggled a few fingers. Soon to go back on his way he was stopped by a little critter. Rubbing the back of his neck, he stared at the thing and cocked an eyebrow really not sure what it wanted from him. He had no Poke food on him thanks to the thugs from before.

The woman frowned, carefully patting the teddiursa's head and standing to go pick up the Zigzagoon. "Sorry about that. Wilfred's curious about new people." she commented. "We'll be out of your way shortly."

"It's cool." He patted it's head, and rubbed behind it's ears. A small smile twirked at his corners at the little fella. "You're not in my way. You were here first, after all. I'm just passing by."

Steve smiled a bit. "did you want to sit down for a second?" she offered, "Ornith could dish you up some oats and you could let your pokemon out for a bit." she suggested pleasantly.
The woman moved to set Wilfred down on a crate by the fire, the Zigzagoon stretching out pleasantly as she did.

"Oh.." he paused, looking at her set up. "Well. I wouldn't want to intrude... and I think he should go to a Poke Center. We got in a bit of a scrap, you see. I would tend to him if my gear hadn't been stolen." He looked off, a bit annoyed at the tought. If he hadn't been out numbered... shaking his head of the thought, he looked back to spot the Delibird. Intrigued by it's skill with the culinary art, he couldn't help but stare.

Steve blinked. "Oh, does your partner need treatment? Please, sit down then. I can at least get it fixed up a bit till you get there. Just let me finish bandaging Oompa's leg back up and I can see to them." she assured the man, going to take her seat by the Teddiursa once more.
Ornith's culinary skill amounted mostly to having memorized what to put in when and when to stir - which came from lots of practice helping Steve make food. He couldn't fix complex dishes or learn most recipes on his own, but after three years with her, frequent meals were old habit by now.
"Deliiiii" he cooed, waving up at the other trainer. He was a polite bird after all.

"I thank you." He blinked at her a few times, feeling a bit ashamed at how unprepared he was to care for his fatigued Pokemon. Nodding to the Delibird, he looked back to the miss"I can pay you." he asured as he reached for the ball on his belt. Pressing the little button to enlarge it, he turned it towards the ground.
With a flash of light, a form started to shape on the ground. Slightly crouched was an Absol. They were uncommon to find, and the breeder was rather proud of feat. Blinking his orange eyes, Jon'Cloude straightened up and looked to his partner. Ready for what ever he was needed for.
Smiling at his Absol, the man knelt down and stroked behind it's head. "You did a good job. Ready to get better?"
Sharp eyes closing in satisfaction as he was stroked, the Absol gave a noble head bow.

"Don't worry about paying me." Steve assured him, carefully washing the last of the cream off of the bear's leg, reapplying some and wrapping it up again.
She leaned over to a basin of water nearby to wash her hands before sitting up once more and smiling to the duo that had joined them. "All right, why don't you let me give your friend a once over?" she suggested lightly, holding a hand out as an offer for Jon Cloude to come to her. "He should be good as new in no time."

He stared at the women for a moment before looking back to his companion.
Smiling, the breeder nodded to the Absol."It's alright."
Looking back to the female, he crept forward and gentley nuzzled her hand.
"Thatta boy, Jon."

Steve smiled lightly and reached out her other hand to pet the Absol's head lightly. "I'll just be helping you feel better she told him."
Oompa, by this point had gotten up and limped back into the tent to lay down, and Ornith returned to taking care of things. This left Steve room to carefully show Jon Cloude over to a spot he could sit down so she could check him over. "Let me know if anything hurts okay?" her voice was soft as she checked his fur and body for lasting injuries that might've been obtained.
