Upon hearing the man’s confirmation, Canon grinned and happily slipped inside, her hand slithering around Forte’s wrist and tugging him inside. “Thank you!” she gratefully answered, pulling out one of her most angelic smiles, partnered with a curtsy.

As a woman, a clarinet player by the looks of it, marveled at the pair’s arrival, the two fixated their gaze on the star of the night: Miss Kanna. Forte inquiringly shot the clarinetist a curious look though. “Pia-chan”? Now who was that? Then he frowned and turned back towards the woman. It didn’t matter. Not like he was going to meet the stranger anytime soon.

The dark-haired boy gruffly nodded his head while Canon beamed at the piccolo player. “Yes, it was enjoyable Miss Kanna,” assured the blond girl, linking arms with her brother. “Pardon my rudeness, neither of us has introduced ourselves. I am Canon Ricciotti and this is my twin Forte Ricciotti.”

“Your performance. It was good,” Forte curtly complimented.

“And we would like to congratulate you on it.” Canon sweetly smiled.

Piaotte smiled, watching Eppi jingle happily. "Well someone is happy to see his friend!" She smiled brightly, "And so the stars enjoyed the concert too! I'm so glad!" The girl clasped her hands together, Pizzi in between them.

"Oh, it would be no problem at all!" She assured Basil with a wave of her hand. "Kanna always loves guests." Indeed, it was half true. She liked the guests who would tell her she was in tune or out, oddly enough. Must have been something with the Music Theory she took...huh.

"It is, isn't it? This one was rather quiet until now. He must be very polite, hmm?" She looked to the bottled star, who jingled a little more quietly in confirmation. Piaotte smiled gently, watching him with gentle eyes. "You're such a sweetie..."

Pizzi jingled as if to nod, laughing quietly. All are stubborn at one point or another. And I hope so, he replied, sighing. She deserves so much better....

Kanna smiled as she was congratulated by the younger musicians, laughing. "Yes, it was good, but the best part was that I was in tune!" She teased. "You know how they say piccolos are best tuned...You shoot the player."

At being formally introduced, she blinked. "You two play, don't you? What instruments? I must know! Curiosity, curiosity!" She laughed.

"I wouldn't mind at all." Basil replied, handing Eppi's jar over to Ellie. The glass wasn't hot or cold. It was surprisingly normal feeling despite the excited way in which the star was bouncing happily about inside. It seemed he was rather excited to be held by this new person.

"And it definitely was a blessing that they were quiet during the performance, for it seems that isn't the case now." Epsilon made this point by jingling loudly and happily at Pizzi. "At any rate, shall we go and see the star of the show?" He asked the two girls.

But he's really stubborn Pizzi! Epsilon sighed, but he knew that Pia would definitely get better. He knew this for sure because Basil played the piano and seemed to be amazing after so much practice!

"Oh thank you," Ellie said as she accepted the jar, mesmerized by the star's bouncing motion. Indeed, she was surprised by how... normal the glass felt to her. Was it her, or did the star's fluttering motion become faster as he landed in her hand?

"But ah, we should. I might have to leave earlier because my brother's waiting for me outside... though I doubt he would mind if I told him I only came late to meet the soloist." The girl nodded in agreement to Basil's proposal and looked at Pia, still cradling Epip in between her hands like he was a precious treasure.

“In tune? That’s a cinch for an experienced musician though,” Forte bluntly noted, eyebrows raised at the older woman and arms crossed. Although he confessed that her performance was good, he began to doubt whether her ability was really as high as he assumed it to be. After years of playing and experience, the boy figured that playing in tune was simple, was easy as breathing air.

Canon laughed and jabbed her elbow into her brother’s ribs without a care. That was not the way to act to an adult. “Pardon my brother. It’s just his personality, you know?” she apologized.

She grinned. “Your assumption is correct! I play the cello while Forte plays the violin,” answered the girl. “Perhaps you’ve seen our names in a couple articles? We’ve managed to win some competitions,” Canon added, pride shining in her blue eyes.

“We still have a ways to go before reaching our goal, though,” Forte threw in.

His sister laughed. “But we’re getting there!”

Piaotte smiled as she watched the star bounce in Ellie's hands. "So excited!" She commented, laughing. "That little one must love meeting new people, huh?"

"This one knows it's manners during a show." She looked down to her own jar with a smile. "But yes, we should get going, shouldn't we? Since Ellie will have to get back to her brother, right?" The girl smiled to her two friends, gathering up her items. "I think you'll like her. She's a people person."

Stubborn? Well that can be fixed by some jingles, right, the star laughed to him. And Pizzi hopes so, because she needs it. Music might just make her happier. Pizzi's worried that perhaps Pia isn't......Right. Something's off about her, and he doesn't know WHAT.

"Mmm...You two haven't heard the joke then...Hey, Madeline." She called over to the oboist in a chair nearby. "How do you get two piccolos in tune?"

"You shoot one of course." The oboist grinned.

"Exactly. I suppose with strings it's much easier, since you don't have to worry about how your air support is. Piccolo is about as hard as Bassoon. Except Bassonists have many more keys. Tuning a Piccolo is like...learning the entire range of a bassoon. You never stop learning, because it changes from day to day." She explained, thinking things over. "Especially if you get it cleaned every month or so. It doesn't matter how much you practice. The basics will always be there to haunt you."

"Oh no, it's fine." Kanna waved it off with a smile. "When I was in high school, my director thought the same thing. Not every flautist has the support to play picc." She looked over at the case on the chair, as if to reminisce about something. "They have to be called to it. Like every musician."

"Oh, you two must be those twins." She brightly smiled. "We've all heard about you two. A few of our own players judged at those competitions. They were impressed."

"Just promise me one thing." She grinned at the mention of their goal, "Once you make it...Never stop learning. Even if you become the best, never close yourself to new ideas. Music will always evolve, and there will always be a better instrument. Don't get too full of yourself."

"He's just overexcited." Basil told Pia. "And if you have to go soon, Ellie, then let's hurry for sure." He smiled, and moved slightly, indicating that Pia should lead the way. For how could someone who was blind lead the seeing? "We're meeting the piccolo player, correct?"

Epsilon blinked in confusion as he bounced in Ellie's hand. What was wrong with Pia? She seemed nice and normal like everyone was. What wasn't right he wanted to know.

"Yes," Ellie answered Basil's question as they began walking towards the backstage. "I think her name's... Kanna? I did read the program, but my brother and I did arrive a little late so I didn't have time to read her introduction in its entirety." As they walked, she peered constantly at the bottle in her hand with a little goofy smile on her face. She was unaware of the conversation between the stars, though the continuous twinkling was pleasant to the ears.

It took a moment to let the piccolo joke sink in. Neither of the twins was well-conversed about piccolos. Canon was a cello player, Forte a violinist. If anything, they would know a lot about their respective instrument. However, a few seconds of downtime before recalling how incredibly difficult it was to get a pair of piccolos in harmony eventually entered their minds and the joke clicked.

“Oooh!” Canon laughed. “That must be hard. Tuning piccolos, I mean.”

Canon’s face flushed a shade of light pink at Kanna’s compliment, but she beamed. “Impressed? I’m . . . Both,” she started, affectionately linking her arm with Forte’s. “. . . of us are honored to hear that. I hope you look forward to our future performances!”

She obediently nodded at the older woman’s words, words that clearly came from age and experience.

Forte had other ideas, though. “I’d like to disagree with that last statement. Deciding whether an instrument is better than another can be subjective,” he stated matter-of-factly, crossing his arms. “Neither Canon nor I are planning to get too arrogant though, rest assured.”

His sister laughed nervously.

"Let's hurry!" Piaotte laughed, "And yes. Kanna Morris, principal Piccolo~!" She chirped, heading off to show them the way. She had no problem getting the three--or six, counting stars and Molly--backstage. When they reached the room, Piaotte looked to her teacher, watching her talk with the twins. "Oh....She's busy..." Pia frowned slightly.

Pizzi isn't sure....But...Something's off about her. That's all he knows.

"Yes, yes. That is rather hard. There are, however, a lot of pieces that require two, maybe three, piccolos. Gustav Holst's Jupiter from the Planets, for example, has two. Even some more modern pieces like Malcolm Arnold's Tam O' Shanter used two, with a duet in the middle." Kanna explained. "While tuning is hard, it's almost essential. But...It's impossible if the instrument is broken. Which, sadly, happens a lot."

"I look forward to watching you two climb to your dream." She returned, nodding. "Are you going for this symphony, or another? If it is this one, I hope I will have the joy to play with the two of you."

"Hmmm~? But isn't the cream of the crop a Stradivarius? For strings, correct? They're hard enough to get a hold of. I've seen one, and that one currently resides here with our principal violinist." She smirked. "So it's not really subjective when it comes to those, correct? Even so..." She paused, "Arrogence is what gets even the best players beaten. You're up for some tough battles though...If I had to bet, I'd say it would be you two."

Glancing up, she noticed the group staring at her, and grinned. "PIAAAA-CHAAAAAN~!" She squealed, twirling over to hug the girl, "AH~ Did you come to see your poor old teacher~? My darling student~! Daughter of D'Jour and Medina~! Ahh~!"
