The Sandtable

A large room within the main compound, a combination of paper maps, tactical relief maps, holograms and terrain tables are used to run battle simulations between warring groups. This is where the overall strategy and battle plans for the Seireitei are distilled and orders are constructed and distributed to the correct recipients. Constructed to mimic the most technologically forward military installations found in the Living World at the center of the room is an ever changing hologram of the Seireitei cast atop a circular table of black lacquered wood. The edges of the table are littered with carefully dictated notes on the movements of different races currently, maps of all shapes and sizes scored with countless x’s and circles to indicate areas of interest and the occasional cup of coffee. Surrounding the table are numerous metal chairs, designed with comfort in mind, each set on rollers for easy movement. At the far end of the room is a bank of computers, their flat screen monitors covering the entire expanse of the wall and displaying portions of the Living World in startling relief. Each map on screen is highlighted with multiple colors, indicating race related reiatsu and unknown reiatsu along with the general population reiatsu level as well. To the left wall are series of cabinets housing the paper maps, writing implements and other miscellaneous items. To the right wall is another huge screen display, this time a touch screen with wands and other writing implements for quick notes, document writing, full screen map reliefs, video conversations and much more. Besides the very clean design, there are multiple technicians dressed in sleeveless Shihakushou with black long sleeved shirts beneath the ensemble and covered with a long zippered vest with high collar. Each has their name embroidered in katakana across the left breast followed by the squad insignia in white. Below that is a series of colored bars, indicating the lowest ranking technician to the highest and most decorated.
