A Touch of Evil

Tipsy Genius

Hello. biggrin

Just thought I would introduce myself. I am Sarah and started this new diet about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I haven't had any milk in a very long time, and any meat for about 2 or 3 weeks (with the exception of today; more to come later)

The way animals are treated now-a-days in slaughter factories is unforgivable and completely unbelievable. By choosing to not eat meat, I am choosing to not support animal cruelty and abuse. I absolutley LOVE all animals.

It was a slow transition for me. Everytime I tried to go vegetarian, I tried by just stopping cold turkey with the eat meating. It didn't work. So now, I am taking it one step at a time and it's working beautifully. The first to go was milk. Then meat and chicken. It's also helpful to have replacement foods so I don't starve.

Today, I went to a chinese buffet with my boyfriend and ate chicken and sushi for the first time in a few weeks. It tasted the same and was good.....but it tasted strange. Like, I wasn't used to it. It felt foriegn and ultimately, unappetizing. So, now I feel I can easily continue being vegetarian happily and hopefully someday transition to vegen but not 'till I am vegetarian for at least a few years.

So for now, I am considered an ovo-lacto vegetarian. heart

Yay! Congratulations. I'm working on slowly transitioning to vegan now after being ovo-lacto for almost two years. ^ ^

I've been vegetarian for 7 months now(: I will say that in the beginning I almost missed meat, in a sick kind of way, but now when I even see other people eating it (not hating the people for it themselves) I feel like I want to throw up. Just because I know where it's from and how it's treated. That might happen to you too, idk, but congrats on what you've done so far! I went cold-turkey though, but it deff. doesn't work for everyone.

P.S. if you've watched enough videos about the farms etc. whenever you feel the urge to eat meat think about that.

Congratulation biggrin
I've been vegetarian for about 2 1/2 months now and I feel really good. I know what you mean with "it felt wrong" 'cause in the beginning I also ate fish and it felt really strange confused
In the old days I NEVER thought that I would feel no differnce, like I always thought that I'd be more tired and such, but not at all, I'm feeling perfectly fine biggrin D
I also feel kind of sick when I see people eating meat(like my mother+her friend) but I don't insult them or such(like many other vegetarians) 'cause everybody needs to choose for his own, and as I can't safe the whole world/everybody...so I'm sparing my nerves.
BTW: I realized how many tasteful things expect meat are there...if you need a tip or such just ask, I know many good recipes smile )) heart

It's not a diet. It's a way of life.
