User Image They say that life is a b***h, then you die. They also say that Reva Miller is a b***h, and she'll tell you to die. And that was exactly what she was going to have to do today - tell one of her clients that they are going to die. Not actually die, of course. But the beloved soap opera character Asher Wright of Turn of a Century was going to die a most gruesome death. Unfortunately, the actor playing Asher - Oz Parker - was blissfully unaware of this upcoming death and Reva felt a responsibility to let him know.

Oz wasn't being fired on grounds of bad behavior or publicity, the producers of Turn of a Century simply found it to be the time for Asher's demise. But any audience member watching the show may feel cheapened by the death. In the show, Asher has been suffering from amnesia after a car accident and cannot remember his on-and-off fiance, Sheridan, let alone the fact that she claims to be carrying his child when she is really unsure if it is his or actually the milkman's child. Among this confusion, Asher's illegitimate long lost twin brother, Baxter, has emerged and sparked a relationship with Sheridan, and Asher's attending nurse is forming a relationship with Asher, but is married to the milkman and has plans to murder Sheridan.

WIth all this drama and Asher right in the center, the writers felt the most unpredictable approach to give the drama a climax would be to kill off the character. And the death certainly isn't pretty. To be a little less than cryptic, lets just say it involves a wood chipper and a whole bunch of little pieces of Asher Wright.

It wasn't the first time Reva had to tell a client of hers that they were getting fired, and Oz Parker certainly would not be the last. She waited for him in her spacious office, sitting behind her large oak desk with a great big pile of scripts stacked on each side of her desk. On one side were the scripts she has read with Post-It notes listing clients who she feels would fit in with the films and the other stack were scripts yet to be read.

She had many scripts lined up for Oz. She felt that him leaving the show may be a good career move and an opportunity to branch out into other venues. Reva had all sorts of scripts lined out for him - dramas, romcoms, comedies, action flicks, horror films, commercials, and even pornography! While some may seem like poor career moves, nobody knew the business quite like Reva Miller. She wouldn't suggest something if she didn't see use in it. But would Oz feel the same?

He had not been expecting Reva to call him to her office this morning. He had off from the Soap, and it was his one day of relaxation.. He wasnt all sure that it was going to be a good meeting. But he had been told that he was acting quite the gentleman in social situations now...

Again not something he was sure was a good thing. He yawned, covering his mouth with his hand, and shaking his head as if to shake the tired from his face.
He had been kept busy lately, and with the press now following him more, it was unlikely to see Oz not being followed by the paparazzi.
[One quick look behind him proved just that..]

Rolling his eyes, he grabbed the handle of the Agency, and opened the door, walking in. Finally, free from the worlds gaze, if just for the moment.

Hands in his pockets, he began whistling, and passed the receptionist with a wink and a charming smile.
Oh how the receptionists of the building loved him.. More than any of the actors making their way through.

When his eyes fell on Reva, he smiled, strolling forward with another smile, only this one was for her.

"Good morning, darling."
He nodded, and grabbed a donut from the table she was standing next to.

"Morning, Oz," she said flatly as she watched her client take a donut from the box on her desk. Perhaps that wasn't the best place to leave those donuts - it seemed to give her clients the impression that they were for them. They were for Reva, after all. She's a nervous eater, and in situations like this, she always buys a box to comfort her.

She took a donut and broke off a small piece and popped it in her mouth. When she swallowed, she continued. "Honey, I got some bad news for you. Did you read the script for this Friday's episode of Turn of a Century?" Of course he hadn't. It hadn't been sent out to him yet. She has a deal with the network that produces the show to send her the script before sending it out to her clients so she can make sure they are represented fairly and handle these types of problems.

Reva opened a tiny drawer in her desk and pulled out the script and tossed it onto the coffee table in her office, a good seven or so feet away. In landed flat and closed, a perfect throw. "Read page 44. You're not going to like it." She then pulled out a box of cigarettes from her desk and lit up. She legally wasn't to smoke inside her office, but she was the ******** boss. She could do what she wants.

He noticed when she seemed to get antsy about his removal of the donut, but he continued munching on it as if nothing had come across her face. He cocked his head, and shook it to say no.
He hadnt seen the script, though at this point he was hoping he had, rather than being blindsided.. Or what he thought would be considered blindsighting; after all.. She had said it was bad news.

Though it hadnt crossed his mind how bad the news could be, he opened the script, scrolling down with his eyes as he flipped to the right page.
Looking up at her, his jaw dropped a bit, and he couldnt help but keep the surprise out of his eyes..

"So youre..firing me?" He asked in disbelief. What had he done? Or rather, what had he done that wasnt different than when they hired him to the agency.
What the hell would he do now?

He dropped the script back down on the table, and lowered his head into his hands as he took a deep breath.
He wanted to yell, but that wouldnt be a good outcome of all this.

"How could you fire me?" The word always seemed to leave his mouth full of venom. Not venom towards her, but more at the idea of the removal of employment.

"Its not me, or Walk of Fame, firing you," she said firmly, not wanting there to be any confusion. "Its the writers. They reserve the right to ax off your character at any time, its all part of the contract you signed when you first started working for the show."

She realized that he was upset, and she knew this was going to happen. Thats why she had all the scripts laid out around her desk. "But there's a silver lining to all of this. With the show over, you have time to pursue other fields, you can get into big films if you want to, or prime-time television. I have a whole bunch of scripts lined up for you. You'll need to audition, but I can put in a good word to boost your chances."

She stood from her desk and took another puff of her cigarette and another bite of her donut, then pointed at the large pile of scripts. "Now are you ready to go through some scripts?" She said this with an encouraging smirk on her face., something she had practiced for times like these.

Her good nature towards him in this incident, made him call down and try to think positively. She was mean, and cold, and cared for no one. If she offered you something like a smile, or role, you jumped on it. As if asking how high..

"Like..What kind of roles?" He asked, lifting his head from his hands as he looked at the muiltiple stacks of papers around her desks.

Prime time television? Movie roles? He could become a big name after all..and that was his mission in life.
Though his ego was bruised with the cancellation of his character, he sighed and nodded.

"I suppose you gotta pick up, and move on right?" He asked, clasping his hands together, as he leaned forward in his chair.

He hoped he wasnt the side role though.. He didnt want to be anyones sidekick.
But auditioning was something he hadnt done in awhile..He was so used to being his character.
But maybe it was good not being typecast to one role..

Reva looked at the pile of scripts and grabbed the first thing at the top of the pile, read the title, and tossed it to Oz.

"How about this one?" she asked. It was a smaller script, but she remembered what it was about. "Its a short movie about a business executive that falls in love with their coworker."

Oh, she forgot one detail. "Its gay porn, by the way."

She sat down and took another puff of her cigarette.

He caught the script, and began getting excited when she began explaining it. But once she added the forgotten detail, he flinched a bit, and almost tossed the script from his hands.

"Uhh...Not really the direction Im looking to head, thanks." He almost chuckled, but then hoped she was right when she said that he still had more options.

Straight porn? Maaaybe. Threesome porn? Deefinitely. Gay porn? No way. He just wasnt as open as some others were.

It was worth a shot. She took the next script from the pile and took a skim read at the title, trying to recall what this one was about. The characters were all middle-aged, not quite appropriate for this client. She tossed it aside and looked at the next. It was some vampire movie that will likely only get popularity with the tween crowd. Likely not something right for Oz. She turned to the next one and tossed it to him without reading the title, figuring she needed to hand something to him to please his mind. Who knows? Maybe it'll be something he likes.

"Try this," she said. "Summary is the first page inside."

He grabbed at the script, and began reading the summary rather quickly. More like, skimming it over to make sure it would be something up his alley.

He arched a brow, and looked at her with a confused look.
"I dont look the type to play a teenie bopper Vampire do I?" He asked, his masculinity seeming to ooze out of his pores, leaving him with a shell of a man.

"Now, I appreciate the thought, but I need something..more manly."
He smiled, rubbing his chest, and placing the script back on the table, a loud THUMP as it landed.

She looked through the scripts again and found something she could actually see him fit in.

"How about a scifi movie?" she asked tossing him the script. She remembered reading this one. It was similar to the likes of Star Trek and Star Wars, but with even more actions and bizarre alien races to enjoy. There were several roles in it she felt Oz could pull of.

He stopped, and thought about it before looking at her with a unsure look.
"Im..Im not sure I could really pull off a scene with..aliens."
He had never really understood aliens, and he honestly wasnt a fan of scifi much either.

He looked at her, and put his hand to his lips.
"Im just. Not."
He remarked after he'd asked if she was sure. He wanted to listen and know that she knew what she was doing.. But he also needed to be sure he could pull something off.

She started to run out of scripts and then she found it. Of course! Why didn't she skip to this script earlier? The script has garnished a lot of buzz, but has been shelved until they could find an actor to play the lead male role. She took a look at Oz, wondering if he had the talent to pull off the character.

It was a deeply dramatic, yet inspirational film about a high school football star who finds himself in a terrible car accident in the start of his senior year in which several of his friends are killed. But he survives and after much physical therapy and emotional therapy, he overcomes his weakness and gets to play in the final game, winning the game. However, when he is tackled during his final play as he scores the touchdown, he is greatly injured when his already weak spine is damaged, rendering him paralyzed for life.

"Here," she said, tossing the script at him, a bit frustrated. "Its an inspirational high school football movie. Granted, you're not a high schooler, but most high school characters are played by actors in the 18-24 range anyways. Its a bit of a tearjerker. But there's a lot of talk about this script."
