Alrighty. I know the hypocrisy of what I'm about to post, but here goes.
*deep breath*
You know how everyone knows that anonymity online *cough*Gaia*cough* gives someone the mindset that they can be a complete shithead, and sleep like a baby at night? Because they know that they can easily just slither back into the world where they rule the next day, and not have to deal with the consequences.
That. Annoys. The piss. Out of me.
I mean, I get argumentative online sometimes too, and would sure as hell get argumentative in real life too, but here's the catch: no one has the balls to continue arguing with me in real life (boyfriend excluded--he has balls of steel). They might say something stupid, and I shut them up by telling them I don't have time for their stupidity or voicing my opinion, and it stops right there.
But Gaia--oh no, not freaking Gaia. Someone says something, and I say another thing. And they keep going! I understand, this is the point of a conversation/discussion, but I mean really--some of the responses get ridiculous, and you all know that.
It just baffles me.
I understand self-esteem issues, and I understand shyness. But when that translate into being a ******** online, that doesn't fly well with me. Those people are placed very low on my pyramid of humans.
Tell me, guys--what tickles your mind about this subject?
And I think this topic might have to be moved into the debate subforum of this guild. I'm not sure, but I'm sticking in the main forum in case it isn't--feel free to move it if you wish, admins.
Edit: I posted this same thread in the LD on a mule account, and I've been called catty a few times, lol. You guys should totally check it out. Thread

I agree. I say something completely harmless, and people will flip out. I haven't noticed it in this guild though. This is one of the few good ones about that.

yeh, i gotta say, i see both sides of he argument here, but still i have my own personal Honour Code that just makes such behavior unnacceptable in my eyes. confused
i argue onlin etoo, quite alot in fact, and i know that i feel alot less safe in real life in the same situations, but i still do my best not to shy away. i hate the spinelessness that so many people show that they would let it out here where they are veiled, and then turn back to slime in real life.
i do my best to just find them in real life too, so that they can't escape lik ethat. see how they react online then. =w=
and yes, i will move this to the debate forum, but here i'm giving warning first. expect it to be moved there soon.

I can't see that happening with this guild--mainly because it seems like one big family.
And I can see it from both sides, but it's the ones that become arrogant shitheads online that I dislike so much. The shy ones in real life that blossom into chatty people online are perfectly fine--they're just doing what makes them comfortable, and aren't causing any trouble for anyone that just wants to browse or have a friendly chat. But. Shitheads. They ruin it for everyone.

Ehh, to those kinds of people they are just doing as they believe they can. If it fufills them to be jerks in a hidden way let them burn later for it. ^_^ And it is quite a good family Zachy.
