It was hard for her not to jump at the shadows, not even at this jolly time of year. In fact, it was because of the bright lights and various break outs into song that Senga was driven frmo town and towards the more peaceable hills, her tail tucked neatly behind her legs in a fashion so comfortable she would actually leave it as such normally without thinking. This particular Daschund was quite used to being servile and, coupled with an introverted and pacifistic personality, made her to be particularly useful at being a good ear and not much else. Hunting? Terrible. Defending a den? Hardly. Senga was brought up in a family that had taught nothing was her own - each and every thing they owned was to be partaken of by the rest of the large family. Birth Order played an intrinsic part as well to the pecking order of the patriarchal-run pack.

Being last was just a stroke of Fate honestly, but Senga didn't mind. How many others were taught humility so well? Father was a good teacher, his paws and claws the best reminders of her place: in the dirt until the others finished.

So why was she out here alone? Here Senga could not remember, for a large chunk of her memory was unreachable between the then and now, and the void was both curious and frightening to ponder. Why had she forgotten? Why that part? But Senga being Senga, she did not want to pry and instead focused on trying to locate a meal before the night was over. Her stomach growled intensely, but she felt she had no right to sileence it with any sort of whining. Amber eyes scanned the small hills about her for signs of prey.

Lawrence wondered the streets in the quiet reflection. His teeth held fast to the little blue ribbon his child-master had given him before he left to the big place where a lot of the children go. Sure his master returned from the collage place near times of human celebration, but other than that Lawrence found himself wandering the streets and the wilds until the sun vanished into darkness.

A sound caught his attention, it was a rustling noise and it was low to the ground. Lawrence dug a small hold in the ground and carefully burried his ribbon. He would return to it soon.

"Please do not be a chihuahua," he begged as he dropped low to the ground. He pounced as soon as the sound was close enough to his hiding spot. It wasn't a chihuahua. Before his maw clamped down on the purple fur, he hit the brakes.

"Oh my! I am so sorry!" he yelped falling on his haunches.

He strode the streets like he owned them. He didn't. He didn't own anything, actually, except for the fur on his hide. Brightly colored blue and tan fur with white markings and long, luxurious -- but tangled -- hair. He stretched, arching his elongated back and his tail flagged out behind him. He had no family, had no pack, had no friends. He had himself. But he could use friends...

His ears pricked up, watching as a violet...was that another Dachshund? got pounced by a much bigger, bluer dog. A male, by the scent of it. And the other doxie was a girl. His chest puffed out as he rushed in, determined to defend the girl even though he was much smaller. Hikari let out a hoarse bark. "You there! Why do you jump such a beautiful girl?"

Her hazy mind didn't spring into clarity immediately upon being pounced, ever the slow reactor she was. At first she was aware of her nose being stuffed with a strange new scent, an alien pressure upon her body, and her vision being assaulted by white and soft blues. Then all at once her little body reacted and she writhed away just as the weight was lifted off her, scrambling to her paws with a wordless yelp in her startlement. And then, as if poor Senga didn't have enough to alert her brain to, another voice crashed against her ears - another male! - and immediately the Daschund pushed her snout to the ground and laid down quictly as she was almost born knowing to do when she heard angry voices. Had she intruded somehow? Oh dear, oh dear, why hadn't she been watching where she was going? Senga dared not speak lest it roused more tempers.

Lawrence attempted to laugh off the situation until another short legged weenie came charging up to him. His pale green eyes snapped onto the blues and oranges of the new male. Lawrence did not notice that he had become slack-jawed at the courage of the small dog.

"Well, it wasn't a chihuahua," the saluki grumbled finding his paws and shaking out his fur.

"I'm really sorry," he muttered not looking the stronger-willed male in the eyes but instead at the female's dainty white paws, "I thought she was a rabbit!" He had seen the weenie's at the dog park and knew that they would punish intruders swiftly with their harsh words and sharp teeth, but this bright female was on the ground. She looked scared more than angry.

"I...I did not hurt you did I, miss?" Lawrence whimpered.
