You like writing short pieces??
  You bet I do!
Only sometimes, when it just happens to turn out that way.
Heck no, other forms or writing are my thing.
I'm just here for the gold :|

Short stories, letters, other

Hello darlings! after a short, one minute consideration, I have decided to make this new topic. I wanted a place set aside for writing. Not poetry, not writing advice. Writing. So! This section is for those of you who may sit down dutifully set on writing a long story and come up with three pages.
Those who sit down to write a letter and end up writing well, something oddly, not quite like a letter, so we can classify it as writing.
Those who sit down simply to make a five page story, here is your home!

You can post here, comment on others work. Offer advice and seek it, as we can't grow stronger without it.

Please, be appropriate. Follow the Gaia TOS. Have fun!

Questions. Contact me, I'll do my best.

Titled: Dear

Dear…
I don’t know who you are, but I know your face.
As you loomed out from the depths of darkness in front of me I saw your teeth and the whites of your eyes gleam as the dim moonlight reflected off them. A maniacal grin crossed lop-sided on your face as you stepped into my path. I went to push past you but a glint of steel flashed up to my throat.
Do you remember how I screamed?
Salon-painted nails scratched at your face and you gave a pig-like grunt at the effort it took to throw me against a wall, knocking the breath out of me so I would shut up. My nose caught a whiff of alcohol as your hand pressed my head into the cracked bricks, covering my mouth and nose. I felt my senses heighten; only briefly, as my panicked eyes watched you move the knife from my throat and slide it almost caressingly between my ribs. My knees felt weak and I sagged, allowing you to hold me up. Blankly, I watched as you pulled back the blade and licked it, grinning. Black spots slowly started to fill my vision as the sharp pains in my chest and abdomen faded into a cold numbness.
I woke up in a river.
Feebly, I tried to make sense of my surroundings. A thick chunk of seaweed floated right in front of my eyes. With annoyance, I went to push it away but instead watched as my hand passed right through it. Confused, I turned and came face to face with a porcelain, pale head encircled by thick chunks of dark brown hair. My head… A detached feeling came over me as I stared. Dark blue lips rested on what was once my face in a grotesque smile, as though the lifeless body knew already the sensational plan I was only starting to think up.
I’ve followed you to your office. You seem to live a comfortable life.
Now it’s my turn to have fun.
A look of curiosity seeps onto your face whenever I tap dance across your desk and you watch all the tidy business records go fluttering up and then back down to the floor. Goosebumps raise the hairs on your arms as I glide my fingers across your neck or run them through your slicked back hair.
Such a fun game.
My musical voice echoes repeatedly, letting my name drift through your ears. When your face pales, I must admit I feel almost smug, because it makes me feel like maybe, you can hear me. Maybe you’re feeling regret.
Even so, I can’t wait for you to go for a walk. Maybe you’ll trip, mysteriously, in front of a speeding bus. Or at home a couple drops of household cleaning products will find its way into your evening drink—a suicide look-a-like.
Either way, do what you like today, really. Just don’t act surprised when I greet you down below with a bottle of champagne when you don’t wake up tomorrow.

Haha! I'll take that whole comment as a compliment, actually. That piece is my baby right now, I love it to pieces.
