I'm looking for a butternut squash and/or any type of winter squash soup recipe. Something along the lines of savory, slightly sweet...something along the lines of a comfort winter season soup. Any recipes?

All squash is slightly sweet when cooked. The trick's making a soup out of it that doesn't get boring after a few mouthfuls, and that doesn't irritate the texture-freaks out there. Butternut's the most popular kind of squash because it's hard to mess up. Score it and remove the cantaloupe-style seedy stuff that it has in its bell. Chuck it. Dress it lightly with olive oil, coriander or dried parsley, and ground thyme, wrap in foil and bake until you can jab a fork into its flesh with ease. If you want it indulgent, skip the olive oil and put real butter down its nook. Find a complimentary veggy, sweet potatoes work well *but you must blanch them before baking*. Put a clove of garlic in the water you're blanching them in. Score, season with pepper and olive oil, foil, bake till yada yada. Zucchini also works well, and cooks very quickly. So you've got all these nice light and sweet flavors, skin what you've got and pop them into a blender along with 3.25mf; milk until the consistency is smooth. Pour into a pot and heat. To give it a nice spicy kick, add a touch powdered crushed chili pepper, serve with a dollop of sour cream as a garnish. <- don't add this if it isn't spicy. Otherwise it'll be weird.
If you want a heavier, heartier soup, boil and blend in some chickpeas.
