He just died during surgery.
I don't even know how to feel right now, I wasn't exactly close to him but I looked up to him since he was an artist as well, I wanted to stay with him for a summer to learn Chinese traditional ink painting with him but I guess I can't now...
We don't want to tell my Grandmother on my father's side because he's her first son, she might die from grief. I donno, I just feel really numb right now.

; ___ ; I'm so sorry Kage! *hugs tightly* I wish I could be there for you to hug you for reals. A death of a family member, even if they aren't close, is always really hard... I was a mess when my aunt died cuz she was my closest aunt and I loved her to death!
Old people are the hardest to tell family relation deaths too, especially if they are the mothers of the departed. When my aunt died my grandmother was a wreck, but she survived. She still gets sad a lot, but she didn't have a heart attack (like we all thought). Some Mom's just know when their kids are gone... :< Its weird.

Aww,i'm sorry about your uncle...Well, don't worry-everyone dies eventually.I have a similar story like yours,my great-uncle died, and my great grandmother almost died of grief...also, she wouldn't eat for days.... crying

my mom's cousin (not sure what to call him from my perspective) died about a month or so ago from H1N1. i didn't know him at all, and my mom wasn't particularly close with him. my great-aunt was pretty down about it, so i'm told (i never went to the funeral, and from what i heard, it wasn't much of one at all). but it wasn't just a sudden thing, and she had been at the hospital with him, so...
i can imagine the pain of seeing your children die before you do, no matter what age you or they may be. i tried to relate this once to my sociology class, but i kinda went about it the wrong way and got called morbid sweatdrop
what was he in surgery for? was it emergency surgery or was it more of a planned thing?
anyway, sorry for your loss, and i hope your grandmother doesn't take it too hard *hugs*

I'm very sorry for your loss Kage-chan *hugs tightly* it's always hard when you loose a family member, even if you're not too close. I know it was hard for me when my nana passed away, and I don't even remember her except from pics (she passed away when I was 13-14, about 10 yrs ago now). We just weren't that close, but I'll always know her as nana.
I hope your grandma will be okay. Just try and call her as much as you can, comfort her. This is the time for a family to watch over one another the most, especially those who need the watching over more than most.

Damn... I'm sorry for your loss. *hugs* I hope it's not too hard on your grandma... though I'm sure it'll help a lot if your family does its best to comfort and support her through it.

Thanks guys, my family on my dad's side is trying to find a way to put it to her gently
And I don't know what the surgery was for, my mom was explaining it to me in Chinese and I just sorta numbed out after "dead". It wasn't even a risky surgery apparently, but he went to the washroom alone and just never came back

Wow Suteki, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know what it's like to lose
someone even if they're not close. I just hope whatever happened
it wasn't anything that caused him to suffer. I pray for your grandma too.
