Connor sighed sitting on the beach watching Sierra splash around. He still wasn't completely sure what he thought of having to be a Guardian. It was odd. Having responsibility of a living creature. After all he was still just a kid himself. What was he going to do with a Mer child.

Sierra looked up and waved to Connor. She moved closer moving her body up onto the sand. Lucky he was close to the water so she didn’t have to go very far. “I like it better out here in the ocean! Its so much bigger then at the other place. Can I go exploring?!” She asked not pausing for a breath of air. Unlike Connor she enjoyed him already. She in fact was just like any other child. Trusting.

Connor’s green eyes drifted to the Mer in front of him. “Sure Sure.” He said shrugging as he lay back in the sand. “Maybe I’ll make a sandcastle while you explore. Or maybe take a nap.”

Sierra squealed in happiness before taking off into the water.

Aylen made his way down toward the water's edge with the two kids hold onto him, one in each arm. Rangi was flapping and flailing his fins wanting nothing more then to get into the water and to be off, back to his treasure hunting. Atl was holding onto Aylen, snuggling against him with her squishy form, and seemed to just be waiting to get to where they were going. She loved the water as much as her brother but she was no where near as excitable as he was.

The man knelt down when he felt the water against his toes and heard it, giving the pair a smile, "Alright, you two behave yourselves, don't go to deep into the water, and stay together when you go under, alright?" He told them.

There was a sizable splash as Rangi hit the water, going under, and made a couple tight circles before he came up again, "Alright! Come on Atl! Treasure time!" He told her, motioning with his hand and caught hold of her wrist as she was placed into the water in a more gentle manner by Aylen. The pair went under and the man shifted and settled down in the sand, eyes closing so that he could listen to the sounds of the ocean. He knew this area was deemed safe by the Mer Co people and as such he didn't mind bringing the pair here to swim around.

Sierra blinked looking up as she heard others enter the water. She hid behind a large boulder. Slightly afraid. She hadn’t met others just yet that were like her. Well other then once when she was first picked up. And that was only in passing. Her eyes looked up and over the rock at the two. They looked friendly enough. She held her basket close having already found three shells. She looked to her shells and smiled. They had the same colors as the two Mers that had just entered the water. She swam out from behind the rock. Knowing Connor would save her if she got into any kind of trouble. “Hello.” Once again she was trusting of the new creatures.

Connor yawned sprawling out in the sun. His eyes opened to look at the man. “You a guardian to?” He questioned though it was obvious. It was odd because Connor was still just a child himself so speaking to this man about responsibility over these creatures or what not was not top on his list.

Rangi was swimming in a couple circles, pulling his sister with him, kicking up a lot of sand before he started to swim along once more. He wanted to find more treasure which was often hidden among the sands of this area. There was so many fun things hidden in the ocean that it made it his favorite place to be. Far better then swimming around in the bath tub that was for sure! He released his hold on his sister when he saw something glitter in the sand to go about digging through it.

The slug girl watched him as he went about his digging and gave a giggling sound before she froze in place, hearing a voice. Atl turned slowly toward the voice and relaxed when she saw the one there wasn't anyone or anything scary. She lifted a hand to wave at the pretty fish, "Hello." The slug said in a shy manner. She wasn't sure who this new mer was but so long as she wasn't anything scary she was alright with greeting her. It was also a polite thing to do since her brother seemed lost in his digging.

The blond tilted his head toward the the sound of the voice, it sounded rather young didn't it? He gave a little smile, "I am, I have a daughter and a son." He told the new guy he was talking with a smile, "My name is Aylen St Claire, may I ask yours?"

Sierra smiled happily at the slug girl waving back. “Hey there!” She said though her eyes moved to Rangi wearily. She was so sure about that one. He looked kinda scary with moving so fast. The fish moved closer to the slug girl her scales shining gently at any light that was able to filter down into the now murky water.

“Is he looking for shells?” She asked watching his technique now. As she realized what he was doing. “Here!” She handed the slug girl a shell. It was striped in all different colors. “I found this. It looks like you!” She said happily before her eyes again moved to the one moving around and around digging. “If he’s looking for shells. It’s better to find pretty ones over that way.” She pointed back the way she had come.

Connor watched the male for a moment. “You seriously think of them as your children?” He asked amazed. He wasn’t sure if he could think of the Mer he picked up like that. Maybe it came with time. “My names Connor Meyers.” He said sitting up and stretching he had told her he’d build a sand castle.

Atl gav ea little nod of her head, "Shells, teeth, pretty rocks... my brother is a treasure hunter." She explained to the fish girl before turning to watch the way that he was digging around in the sand once more, "Rangi, this girl says she knows where to find pretty shells! Rangi!"

It took the slug girl calling out at him a couple more times to get his attention before he glanced over at the pair, giving a little smile as he swam over toward them, "She knows where shells are?" He asked, curiously. He was all for taking up this new girl's help if it meant that they were able to find fun to treasures. His fin fluttered and twitched in an eager manner over the idea, "Alright, lead on!" He said excitedly.

"Rangi, manners." Atl whispered before looking at the pretty fish, "My name is Atl St Claire, that is my brother Rangi St Claire." She said, introducing the two of them.

Rangi gave a little roll of his eyes, "Nice to meet you." He said, glad the pleasantries were out of the way so that they would be able to go and get the shells that had been mentioned.

Aylen gave a smile and a nod, "Of course." He murmured, given the manner in which he'd come into the world he figured it would be pretty hypocritical of him not to see these two as his children when his family had adopted him as theirs, "It is nice to meet you Connor." He murmured, his manners and polite nature had been the first thing he started to try to work on with the two children. Something that seemed to have been picked up by them for the most part... unless Rangi was excited that was.

Sierra blinked looking at the other Mers. “Manners?” she questioned. It was something she had heard Connor’s mother say but not something anyone explained to her yet. After all Connor didn’t reall carefor them. Except when around his sister. That’s the only time he was careful.

“Oh! My name is Sierra!” she said happily and smiled as she took their hands. “Come on come on this way!” She shouted trying to pull them towards where she knew pretty things were.

“I love finding things in the wate.r. Treasure Hunter? Can I be one to!” she shouted letting go and turning looking at Rangi. “Please Please Please oh pppplllllleeeeaaaasssseeee!” She exclaimed. She wanted so bad to fit in with these two. I ppprrrooommmise I’ll show you were the very pretty pretty stuff are!” Sierra had a habit of repeating some things she said when she got excited.

Connor stared surprised. “Wow. I don’t think I could ever think of Sierra as my daughter!” He said amazed he watched the man for a moment. “Are you blind? Or maybe just hard of seeing?” He questioned sounding rather interested. His sister was nearly completely blind. But she had been her whole life. So Connor didn’t fully understand how to not ask outright. If there was someone like his sister that’d be awesome.

Rangi seemed to be acting as though he were thinking it out, as though it were something very important that he was deciding upon before he nodded his head, "I... think that we could join forces in our treasure hunts." He said at long last, "So long as you can show us where the pretty shells are, if so then your allowed to join our treasure hunting group."

Atl have a happy sound as another member was added to the group, that was wonderful! She wanted to cheer but instead she merely continued to swim with them pair. Since she wasn't built in the same manner it took her more work to be able to keep up, it made her envy their fins a little bit.

Aylen gave a little chuckle before nodding, "I am blind, yes." He said with a smile, seeming to not be bothered by the question. It wasn't as though is blindness were something new to him, he'd been this way his entire life and while he did have a manner in which he could see he didn't often summon that power, over using it was something he saw as wasteful.

Sierra smiled happily. “Oh I can I can!” she said happily. “There is this really GREAT place to find shells and some, Sill-verr-where.” she said the word slow sounding everything out. She had brought a fork to Connor once and he told her what it was. He said he had lots of them at his house. She still kept it any way.

“Maybe you two would want to go with me into the deeper water? Connor said I would find neater stuff down there.” she whispered now. Shyly asking for company. She was afraid to go down further all by herself. Which is why she didn’t. Connor was working on Scuba lessons to go with her one day.

Connor nodded at him. “You don’t look around like others. You do it like my sister does, Though she isn’t completely blind. She sees blurs of stuff.” he said watching the man intrigued. “Were you born blind? Or did you have some sort of accident. My sis fell into the water one day was clunked in the head by a boat. Since then she cant really see.”

Rangi smiled, "Excellent, your in then." He told her, pleased with this outcome. He was all for another set of hands helping out in his expeditions and that the girl wanted to go out into the deeper waters pleased him as well, "Sure! I bet there are even better things there since less people would go." The deeper waters would likely be scarier to many people so they wouldn't want to go. Nothing was scary enough to keep the fish boy away though, perhaps it was a bad thing for him to be to brave but until he met with something scary and was chased off by it he would remain as such.

Atl looked between the pair, not really sure about going into the deep water since there could be monsters there but she didn't want to look like a wimp so she nodded as the others mentioned going, "Yeah... that could be fun." She said, giving her best smiled even if she did worry a bit.

The blond listened in closely to what Connor was saying to him, giving the slightest wince as it wsa described how his sister had lost her sight. That poor woman, how scary that must have been he thought to himself, "It was how I was born actually, so I am quite used to it since I have never seen things in the first place. Not in a normal manner anyhow."
