Apocalypse

User Image

Overview-

The basic armor used by all of the soldiers among the ghoul group. Designed to withstand wear and tear and promote the soldier, it essentially protects the soldier from all kinds of damage, gives him convenience in other aspects, and even promotes him so far to be capable of doing things that he couldn't do otherwise. The armor attempts to be the core of the Soldiers arsenal, adapting all kinds of weapons and devices to fit along with them, and allowing every soldier their own miniature command center, as well as basic defense platform.

Helmet
An integrated HUD display is presented on the Visor. This display calculates the distance between the helmet and the target your approaching, via laser range finder positioned on the right side of the helmet. The Visor is also capable of presenting vital signs, direction, rounds left, and a miniature sonar display. The visor also has an optional display on a scope wirelessly transmitting digital data from a adjustable up to x8 zoom camera. The Visor, made out of half-inch polycarbonate polyurethane, is at a level of mark III bulletproofing. Although extremely important and wire ridden, the visor is replaceable and a soldier usually carries two or three of each.

The helmet consists of a type four plastic Kevlar material. Not entirely consisting of hard material, a 1 inch internal heat resistant gel forms a large part of the internals of the helmet, providing heat absorption, a place for wiring, and as a well serving as an impact cushion to lessen the blunt force trauma of any speed objects. It as well serves as a secondary dampening area, in case the bullet makes it through the hard material, to diffuse it’s energy into the gel and possibly expand or fragment before reaching to the other side, of the Kevlar material, or the skull. An internal temperature regulated (due mostly to the gel) cloth lining inside allows for the addition of air to fit most people’s heads (from the proportional size of 4’10 to 7’6), although custom version of helmets can be created. The helmet also comes with four LED lights on both the left and right side of the helmet, allowing for a low power spread out flashlight if required. The actual helmet material being nearly 2.5 inches around provides mark IV type protection. Being made mostly of carbon, hydrogen, and gel, the helmet only weights 6.125 pounds (2.8 kilograms).

The helmet also as an optional clip on area for a mechanically lowered and adjusted pair of night vision/thermal goggles, allowing the user to have access to both thermal and night vision inside his helmet. This pair of goggles is of course regulated according to the helmet, and the entire suit. Permanently fixed to the outside of the suit is an electronically controlled gas mask, capable of filtering almost every containment known to man out of the device. The gas mask comes in a two stage filtering process, doubling it's already incredible ability to filter the air. The rest of the helmet also comes with an optional breathing area, to allow air in, and as well has a filter.

For extra protection, an optional Mark II Kevlar facemask can be added, however these facemasks are typically of commercial origin.

Chest
The internal part of the chest is created of several overlapping Kevlar strings, providing a cushion area much similar to that of bulletproof vests. The version of Kevlar is much harder and inflexible, however, it is spun smaller, making up for the individual inflexibility by allowing several string to become flexible. On the outside of the material, are several large Kevlar plats, made out of slightly harder materials, intended to be rigid, solid constructs intended on preventing injury much like a piece of steel would. Angled in a nearly circular pattern, these Kevlar plates provide not only twice the strength of steel at nearly a quarter of the weight, but also provides protection in much the same way a suit of armor did during the Middle ages. Not allowing a flat side, the curved piece of Kevlar helps to further strengthen the armor by creating a more rigid armor covering, lessening the impact and causing any strike to become a glancing blow, diverting some or most of it’s energy away from the armor, or onto another piece of the armor, this piece also diverting the energy. On the back of the suit is three main battery storage centers, that can house over 512 hours of full functioning suit power. Underneath the armor, like on the rest of the suit, is directly proportional mechanically created electricity turbines, which essentially work by taking the regular motion of a human and transferring these motions into mechanical energy, further powering the suit. The chest piece over-all has a Mark VI strength tolerance, the outside plates having a mark V resistance and the inside flexible area having level IV resistance.

Shoulders
Placed very discreetly, the shoulder pads of the suit are perhaps the most simple. Fitted directly over the shoulder, the shoulder pads consist of the same hard plate material as the chest is. Also fitted with the same impact gel as the helmet, the shoulders serve the purpose of taking some of the damage of the chest piece of the shoulder, and placing an extremely vulnerable area under more protection. The shoulders, like the rest of the suit, offers several mechanically charging device inside of them. The shoulders all together, bring to a total of Mark V protection.

Arms
The arms are covered in the basic fully body rigid strings that the chest are covered in, except in a smaller amount. Completely flexible, the bare strings offer a regular Mark III protection, due to the differing thickness compared to the chest. Apparent on the arms, are several large Kevlar plates, consisting of a pentagonal prism surrounding both the upper arm and the fore-arm. On the joint, is a complete Kevlar elbow pad, with varying types, including the same threaded material and a hard plate apparent in most plastic elbow pads. These plates fit snuggly underneath the shoulder pads, and the underlying part is connected to the chest. On each of the five sides of the pentagons, three well balanced mechanically charging machine rest, helping provide energy through the average motion of the soldier. The arms come out as a total, to a maximum of Mark IV protection.

Legs
The underlying material made out of the same synthetic fibers as the chest, they are actually disconnected from the chest, however when worn are attached to the chest via clips and an optional high strength zipper. The pants come with an adjustable strap, much like a belt, and two twin pouches in order to store materials, although more can be added. Surrounding the pants, are several thick Kevlar plates, with the same gel and Kevlar mixture as the chest. The pants of course are broken into several more pieces for ease of movement, and to protect the entire extremities. The plates move down the entire leg, and underneath them are located yet again, the same energy providing sources. The pants cover the entire legs, and the calf pads and thigh pads are connected by a knee pad, of the same material and styling of the elbow pads. The leggings are rated at a Mark V level on the thigh, and a mark IV level on the calves.

Belt
The belt is basically a belt. Designed to a support a large amount of weight, it is essentially integrated into the pants design. Two built in pouches against on the side and, so do two holsters. Nearly six additional pouches can be added, or a string of ammo containers to hold extra rounds, if necessary. The belt is designed to support roughly 50 pounds with experiencing any stress, and can be used to tighten or fasten the pants as well.

Hands
The gloves are essentially cutproof Kevlar gloves covered in a mix of Kevlar plates. The plats, at level four rigidness, are sewed onto the fabric and to each other via small holes, and resemble closely to that of Knight armor. Being of new age composition however, these 1/8 inch Kevlar plates add a lot of protection, and through the miracles of mass production, are nowhere near as expensive as they would be by hand (such small pieces). Unlike the rest of the body, small mechanically charging devices are absent among these gloves.

Feet
The boots appear to originally be leather boots, but they consist of nothing similar. The boots internals are made out of a yellow cotton material, as to reveal and substances in them before the user places them on their feet, and are surrounded in the same impact gel found in normal impact gel shoes, as well as the materials in the chest, legs, and head. The bottom part of the boot is made out of style three hard plastic rubber, although sandwiched three times between these are three Kevlar pads, each an eighth of an inch thick, and designed to take the shape of the shoe. The actual shoe is made entirely out of ½ inch thick Kevlar plates, overlapped at instances to give a total size of ¾ inch Kevlar at it’s height. Given a distinctive round toe, instead of a steel toed boot it’s a Kevlar toed boot, still capable of kicking through walls, and can perform even better than steel toes.

Sonar- The sonar is an easy to make, cheap sonar used to for finding fish and birds in the local proximity. Capability of picking up most foreign objects, the sonar itself is capable of penetrating light walls and other similar materials. Having a smart computer handy, the sonar also registers the shape of the shape it received nearly instantly, allowing it to recognize several basic shapes and distinguish between random moving objects and humans. The device also quickly process the special relation between teammates (via chips in the suits) and can display friendless compared to enemies at an extraordinarily quick and decisive pace.

Battery- The highly powered zinc iron battery allows the battery to store nearly ten times the energy that a normal lithium ion battery would be capable of. The three batteries, in total, can store roughly 512 hours of full body suit power (at regular strength of course). The mechanically driven miniature turbine-like materials all over the suit glide back and forward to produce a large amount of energy, and essentially help to power the suit based upon the movement of the user.

GPS- An integrated GPS unit is hidden precariously inside the chest piece, specifically on the back. When activated, the GPS can reveal the position of the soldier to a specific channel, allowing other soldiers, officers, and even artillery or airplane operators to understand where the soldiers are. The user decides which channel the GPS blip, or continued existence is sent to, via control panel in the forearm. The GPS blip can also be registered to appear on the sonar display in the HUD.

Scope- A newly designed scope, the scope is more or less a position gathering scope allowing information to be fed to the user wirelessly (or with a wire) to the HUD or a translucent eyepiece. The camera has an automated self positioning camera angle ability, allowing the user to spin the camera a full 360 degrees while still retaining a constant singular video angle. This allows the user to pick up the weapon and bounce it around, carry it upside, or move at a rapid pace and still see through the camera as if it were right side up. If wished to do so, the user could carry the rifle upside down and still see a right side-up camera angle. The camera also possesses the ability to zoom in by x8, and can be switched to a night vision or red dot capability. The camera essentially allows the user to have a scope to tell where the rifle is aiming without the rifle having to be shouldered, the weapons aim being seen through a small translucent area above one or both eyes. When displayed on both the HUD and eyepiece, the image is translucent, and the user can still physically see what is on the other side of the display.

Heat resistant suit- Underneath the entire suit is a thin, patented heat resistant cloth material, capable of withstanding close to 1000 degrees without much difficulty (at it’s thickness.) Used by professional stuntmen and people with fire hazards all over the world, the thin, cool, breathing material acts as a form of extreme insulation, being capable of absorbing massive amounts of heat. Unlike steel, the cloth material will not melt and stick the skin when exposed to temperatures past it’s capability, but merely begin to singe, and if at the point, will simply start to burn much like a piece of paper would.

Bio suit capability- The suit, covered in several microscopic holes, allows for air to circulate through the suit, keeping the user cool and giving them access to air. This also disallows the user’s skin to “suffocate” by not being able to absorb surrounding oxygen. Apart of this system are several filters located throughout the device, which first process the air going through them to make sure they are free of contaminants. In order to ensure protection against certain biological hazards and radiation, the suit can go into a higher energy costing but protective filter mode, which will double filter all the air coming through much like a gas mask would (except at a higher rate). This filter is also capable of disallowing radioactive materials to enter the suit, however if too much radiation is exposed to the suit, the filter cannot prevent the actual irradiation of the suit (although it can prevent the radiation of the user.)

Wireless transmitter- The suit, like several pieces of modern technology, is capable of processing outside information through wireless connection. Able to connect quickly to guns, PDA’s, and if necessary phones or ipods, the suit can have quick access to several kinds of Wi Fi signals and other wireless sources of information. The wireless transmitter allows the suit to also broadcast messages via wireless connection, if necessary. The main function of the wirless transmitter and receiver however, is to receive messages from external devices to be displayed on the HUD device, including messages, rounds remaining, and possible camera views from either a gun or the channel it’s connected to.

Round Counter- The round counter is essentially a device that connects to any standard NATO weapon and when programmed, registers each clip added and the amount of rounds fired. The round counter then perceives each material that obstructs the laser traveling faster than 150 meters per second as a round, and deducts this from amount said that is left in the magazine. Although magazines can be filled with more or less rounds intended, the round counter only displays the amount of rounds that it’s programmed to display. For the round counter to work, user cooperation is required prior to firing to essentially determine how many rounds are left in the magazine.

Camera display- The camera display is simply a translucent display within the same general area that the sonar is presented. The camera display works off of both the radio and Wi-Fi connection area, allowing several videos to be processed or shown in the camera. This application is capable of showing linked camera angles from internal building cameras (if linked into), what a standard UAV or land roamer would see, or even to receive messages from another soldier or officer.

Internal radio- The radio is another addition to the helmet. Based upon being on COM channels, the radio can serve to a link to nearly any other unit in the military, including planes, other soldiers, and even officers. A primary purpose of the radio however, is to allow communication between soldiers of the same squad. This allows for better communication and is also a better alternative to walkie-talkies. This device also comes with a built in ear receiver and a microphone in order to quickly transmit messages. The mike is activated by voice, or nearly always activated, and the radio channel can be changed via control on the fore-arm.

Noise amplifier- Helmets, like many things worn around the head, block out sound. In order to remove this as a difficulty, the helmet as an external and internal device which helps to process external sound. This sound is displayed to the user in surround sound directly to the ears if wished, and can be used to alert the user of any noises, which trigger the systems alert system. Being a smart system, the noise amplifier can distinguish between gunfire, ambient noise, and things like footsteps or living organism movements. Because of this, the noise amplifier can potentially block out portions of different kinds of sounds to allow the user not to be distracted by extraneous noises, or to help listen to footsteps or gunfire. The noise amplifier can, at it’s most, amplify external noises by five times their original amount, and when exposed to extraordinarily loud or harsh sounds, can dampen the sound to roughly a quarter of it’s original noise. This can serve to help stop the eardrums from rupturing, or even the user from going deaf.

Alert System- The alert system incorporates nearly every system in the armor. Processing large amounts of information the alert system simply acts as a smart system, potentially processing different kinds of threats and obstacles ahead. Although it shouldn’t be relied on, the alert system is useful for adding an extra benefit, such as detecting movement with the range finder, alerting the user of extraneous movement on sonar, alerting the user of messages, alerting the user of the chemical make-up in the air, and also registering any threatening sounds as dangerous, and alerting the user of this. The alert system can either be displayed on the HUD, or come on as a voice, chosen from a voice of five different speakers. The alert system also automatically filters any dangerous chemicals, radiation, or biohazards, and can be programmed to respond a specific way to almost any kind of action. The alert system can, if given the addition, can automatically inject several kinds of vaccines, anti-toxin cures, adrenaline, or morphine, based upon the situation or if the actual medical system is given.

Strength increase- The suit also incorporates a modified HAL full body suit system. The improved HAL system uses less energy, is smaller, and increases the strength of the user by a little less than the original HAL system. What the suit is intended to do is to move in conjunction with the body, with all the joints of the body considered, and take a load off the user. The HAL system, being mechanical, reduces a linear amount of stress of the user, which if not exceeded, will present no stress to the user. The “limit” merely consists of it’s continuous non-breaking limit, however more strength can be added. Because the suit is very energy costly, it usually remains turned off unless activated manually or by the alert system. Luckily for the system itself, it is not bulky, however the battery is. The battery is however, conveniently integrated into the chest piece, allowing for the device to simply slip over the body, and remains on the body with little comfort problems. The battery is also charged by the various recharging packs positioned all over the suit. The capabilities of the improved HAL system are as follows-

Minimum strength addition upper body- 300 pounds, (135.9 Kg)
Maximum strength addition upper body- 600 pounds, (271.8 Kg) (10 seconds)
Minimum strength addition legs- 400 pounds, (181.2 Kg)
Maximum strength addition legs- 800 pounds, (362.4 Kg) (10 seconds)
Maximum jumping vertical addition- 20 inches (50.8 cm)
Maximum jumping horizontal addition- 12 feet (3.65 meters)
Minimum static hold legs- 500 pounds, (226.5 Kg)
Maximum static hold legs- 1000 pounds, (453 Kg) (10 seconds)
