So, do you mind if I ask, what does one do to celebrate the Winter Solstice? I would imagine that like all major holidays, how individual groups of people celebrate it can vary a lot... but if there are any major things, I'd love to hear about it. I've considered getting more involved/in tune with celebrating holidays that celebrate the Earth, as well as the people on it. So I figured it would be good to ask. biggrin 3nodding

Koamaru Kai So, do you mind if I ask, what does one do to celebrate the Winter Solstice? I would imagine that like all major holidays, how individual groups of people celebrate it can vary a lot... but if there are any major things, I'd love to hear about it. I've considered getting more involved/in tune with celebrating holidays that celebrate the Earth, as well as the people on it. So I figured it would be good to ask. biggrin 3nodding I'm a terrible person to ask what to do or how to do it. I mean I know I don't celebrate it "Right" I just do it however I feel like doing it, gift giving, and just raised spirits and good mood....and lots of baking blaugh , I guess I'm just one of those people who thinks you should celebrate whatever you want HOWEVER you want, just do it positively! 3nodding

Very true! I heart heart heart the fall season so much I feel like I'm celebrating it pretty much everyday. From eating seasonal fall veggies, preparing the yard and house for the winter, and taking long walks outside to enjoy the leaves... I just can't get enough of it. You've also got to love how people are less afraid to celebrate the end of things: from the harvest at the end of the year to remembering dead ones who have passed away. 3nodding
