Story:
When a person falls asleep for a long, long, time and aren't expected to ever wake up they are in a coma. But what is it like? Do those people in comas dream? Do they even know that they've been asleep or are they just....gone?

When a person falls into a coma they actually enter the raised state of conciousness known as neurale. It means the dreams that they dream are connected to other comatose patients world wide. They can interract, live, and fall in love with each other; but they have to live fast because years pass by in the outside world in an instant to those who dream constantly. And if they ever wake up, the world of neurale is forgotten as if they had slept in darkness all that time. Except for some.

There is a rumor around neurale that some people exist in dreams that never end and their bodies never die. There is a rotten experiment in the outside world that traps the conciousness of some chosen comatose patients in a master machine so they never die and constantly dream forever while the conciousness of others around them in neurale flicker away.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were just admitted into a hospital and declared to be in a coma. The world opens up and you find yourself in a dream but the horizon stretches on forever to the dreams of others. Beside you is a telephone through which you can listen to whatever is happening outside of your body in the real world. There is only one button on the telephone; return. If you choose you may wake up or travel on into the dream world laid out before you. Remember, it's a dream so be creative!

Rules:
1. No Godmoding. yeah your in a dream, but so are the others. Oh and don't kill off the other characters. That's not nice. Just dream up an NPC to kill if you hafta.
2. Be literate. more than just a sentence in every post.
3. Chosen Ones have no memory of real life. sorry fellas.
4. You don't need to make sense. Your dream mother can be a squirrel duck-taped to a giant pair of scissors for all I care.
5. NPCs. You can play as your character and the NPCs that exist in your character's dream. Only the one's in your dream unless you're a chosen one.
6. Profiles? Yuck. Truthfully I hate the idea of profiles. I wanna get to know your character by your collective posts not just a profile. That's like cheating.
7. First posts start with what landed you in neurale. Attempted suicide, car accident, attempted murder, whatever. Then your name, and what your character looks like now he/she is dreaming but do it like a normal post. It starts like that unless you're a chosen one. Cause you've been sleeping for a loooong time.

Rev could see that at least five new dreamers had added to neurale in the past day and there more were arriving. She turned her eyes up to the patchwork sky filled with people flying in planes, with wings, on broomsticks, and in other strange ways as always. Sudden bursts of bright light shot out from random areas, pushing away the land to make room for the new dreamer's dream.
Rev looked down and kicked a tea pot as it scuttled by on chubby legs. She couldn't remember where her dream was, or what it had been about. Had she ever even used the phone that every dream somehow had? She couldn't remember that either. Only that she was always wandering through nightmares of haunted houses and dreams of swimming pools filled with giant squids and pirate ships.
And where had her name come from? She didn't remember choosing it; was it Rev like revving a car or rev for revolution? Or was it for some other reason entirely that she couldn't grasp. It wasn't smart to think hard on such reasonable things in neurale. Especially for her because even though she wasn't in her dream, but someone else's at any time she could think something into being. Just like her features could change in the blink of an eye; for now her hair was long unruly purple tied back to show her sharp pixie-like features and she wore a black suit. To pass the time Rev decided to visit some of the new arrivals; they almost always needed comforting.

"Where am I..." Via said slowly, her wide green eyes taking in all the sights and smells of the neurale. So many colors, and strange things. A moment ago she had just been...Where did I come from? How did I get here? Soft voices swirrled around her head, taking shapes of large, long-fingered hands, pulling at her long, blonde hair, her knee-length white dress, even a teddy bear that she had been clutching since she mysteriously arrived. "Stop it! LEAVE ME ALONE!" She screamed, hysterical tears spilling over her cheeks. She couldn't quite make out the words. Though one voice stood out in the mix of muffled tones.
"Put the gun down, Via...you dont want to do this! Put the DAMN GUN DOWN VIA!" No... She dropped the teddy bear to the ground, the soft brown fabric making a deafeningly loud thud. She covered her ears, her eyes squeezing shut.
"Via...I wont let you leave me..."

Via screamed, feeling an intense blow of pain to her left eye. Blood poured out of her eye, a trail of blood rolling down her cheek, staining her nightgown. The girl stumbled over to a nearby lake, kneeling down in the soft mud. With her free eye, she stared into the lake at her bruised, battered face. Her lips were cracked and bloody, bruises and cuts were scattered across her arms, legs, and chest. Turning around slowly, Via saw a large, shadowy figure standing behind her. Via stiffened, a small gasp escaping her lips. The shadow's long, sinister arm reached out to the girl, softly placing a large hand on her forehead. Her large green orbs closed, a sleepy, calm state overcoming her.

"I'm sorry, Mr.Turner...we lost her. She's comatose..it should....get..." Via felt herself being pushed into the lake, the cool water enveloping her image, pulling her further and further down into the murky depths.

I...I cant breathe...

(( I hope this is explanation enough. For those of you who cant take the mental leap, Via was beaten to the point where she became comatose. By a male, who will later be revealed as...Dun dun dun! ninja ))

A boy around eighteen looked over at the girl seated next to him, he gave her a slight smile, they were in a car on their first date. He was so nervous, it was the first time he'd ever been on a date, he was so nervous in fact he'd forgotten things, important things, most important of all to wear a seat belt. There was only a slight frost on the road, not that his eyes paid much attention to it anyways. He kept glancing at the girl, tonight had been going off pretty well, atleast he'd hoped.

The car drifted to the right a little as his eyes met her's, his first reaction to the sudden feeling of the wheel going off the road of course was the jerk the wheel in the opposite dirrection. Isn't that one of the first things they taught you in drivers ed not to do? Of course like before he'd forgotten things, and as he yanked the wheel in the other dirrection, he saw a flash of head lights, the girl screamed out something, but he didn't hear it.

He felt himself being thrown from the car through the windsheild... Only few bits he could think of... Like the lights of the car he'd hit... And the sound of the girl screaming... And then there was darkness... It was so dark... Dark and cold... He heard the voices of the real world melting in with this world, as suddenly things began to form slowly. First thing he saw was a strange creature, it had a light on it's nose, it was red, it blinked on and off. It was almost hypnotizing, the boy looked over himself, something seemed different but yet he wasn't sure what.

The creature pulled his attention close to it, it nose blinking, it made strange noises, and then it turned white, with a blur of colors mixed with it, it was such an odd creature to explain. But soon it opened it's mouth, if you could call it a mouth that is, and the boy stared and some how fell in. He was falling, and falling, he felt like it would never end. He heard things around him as he felt himself fall upwards, like being pulled out, words he didn't understand were being said, and then he heard something that caught his attention. Suike. This made him shout out. "Yes?" But when he spoke he landed in a thud, and when he looked up he watched the creatures mouth close as the light faded out and new colors appeared.

"Common, show us what you got!" a young teenage boy exclaimed, a drunken smile plastered on his face as the girl in front of him lifted up her shirt and two round lumps of flesh appeared beneath. She smiled back at him, quickly pulling down her shirt and giggling back at 2 more guys who sat, just as intent as the other, handing her a half gallon of liquid with the words VODKA across one side. Eager to feel accepted and not be considered a wimp, she pulled the opening to her mouth, letting the vile poison drain down her throat. Before hand, she had taken a couple shots, which helped delude the gagging taste enough for her to get it all the way down. The minutes seemed to fly, an array of laughter, innocent teasing, chugging more liquor, and a mad make out scene flashing before her eyes, as if a movie on fast forward. Then, as if recorded on a home video camera that ran out of tape, it stopped. A few moments later, which in actual time had been a little over 30 minutes, it seemed to play again, only this time the screen was whited out.

"Get this girl some blankets; she's nearly an ice cube! Doll, can you hear me? I need you to hold still. Hold still!" Towels were placed on her trembling body, though the warmth didn't register in her brain. Straps were applied to her hands and legs to keep her from thrashing around wildly, hitting the emergency room nurses, and heated towels from flying off to the ground. "Can you understand me at all? You'll be ok; you're fine, just keep with us. Don't be afraid." the voice cut off and the 'next' button was pressed as time seemed to skip forward once more.

"Tammy? Oh my god, can you hear me? I'm here for you." a voice called out, the white scene still playing across the screen, "Tammy, answer me please." Finally, a familiar voice, one of her best friend's that she had nearly abandoned after the beginning of 9th grade. But what was a girl to do, it was high school and everyone thrived to be popular. Kid's with nerdy friends weren't popular, period. Tammy's mouth opened to speak, but words failed to come out, LACEY, LACEY I'M HERE! DON'T LEAVE ME, IT'S SO COLD...SO VERY COLD, I CAN'T SEE, HELP ME! HOLD ME! The thoughts echoed threw her head, but her voice box refused to work. "I love you, please stay with me, I love you..." Lacey, I love you too, please don't leave...don't leave...I'm so lonely...please. So many tears drowned her open eyes, who were desperately trying to grab unto any kind of image or color, lips moving around widely trying to choke out a feeble note. Then, nothing. Silence; Death.

The machine at Tammy's left let out a never ending beep, a sound that would tear any loved one's heart into pieces. Lacey clenched her dear friend, both girls only 16. The one on the bed could have once been considered a half decent looking young girl, big brown eyes, almost black; dark brown hair, a brightening smile that would make any heart melt, and a slim, yet curvy, body that was lightly shimmered in a tan that complimented her part Indian background. The girl that lay before Lacey, however, had little resemblance to her former friend. Her skin had become slightly pale, the dress the hospital issued had swallowed up her busty body, her brown eyes were dull and swelled slightly in tears, and her hair was covered in a light layer of mud.

A police officer and doctor came in just as Tammy's pulse picked up. It was low, but present none the less. The nurse that followed them pried Lacey off and shooed her away while the officer looked sympathetically at the brown man that sat inventively at the bed's side, obviously too shocked to speak, tears dried unto his cheeks as if he had run out of the salty mixture all together. "Mr. West, I'd like to have a word with you on the events prior to your daughter's hospitalization."

[Continuation tomorrow. Not only because it's already a long post, but also because it's like 4. Don't worry; this is basically where the reality ends, so expect "dream land" tomorrow! sweatdrop ]

The boy who answered to Suike kept calling out to the new colors, and soon a strange town appeared before his eyes. Buildings of bright colors seemed to lean over into the next one. A strange bug scuttled across his foot, and then something red with long white wings flew high up in the sky. The boy stared like a child, actually this explained the one thing different about him, he was so oddly dressed. He wore an outfit like a young child's sailor suit. He had a sailor hat with the little ribbon off of it, it seemed oddly familar to him, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

He began to walk slowly, his height seemed to drop mildly. The boy watched this strange town as a large figured man with no hair and four eyes peered down at him.
"Are you new here m'boy?" The man had asked. But then the boy nodded his head in answer. The massive man leaned forward and sniffed at the air around the boy.
"You don't smell new..." He gave him a skeptical look. Like a child once again Suike shook slightly, and then tried to make himself even smaller. The man nodded and spoke again. "But you look like you came from up there." He pointed slowly. "That must make you new..."

The boy just didn't understand the conversation. He shook again slightly and then began to back away as the man came closer, this made the boy fall down, and his heart began to race. He began to crawl backwards on his hands as he heard every footstep of the man thud harder into the ground. His heart still racing, his breaths were short. He then felt a spot where his hand didn't touch ground, and before he knew it he was falling again.

He closed his eyes tight, and then when he felt himself land in a very soft pile of something, his eyes opened. When he looked around he saw big round fluff balls, he'd landed in a large pile of them. But as soon as he thought he was save, the fluff balls becan to squeek and scuttle away leaving him on the ground, when he looked down he saw that the ground was pink, and it felt like silk. He looked around and found himself in a large bed with silk blankets, and pillows of silk. But it was too big for him, his hands didn't even reach the pillows, and his feet didn't touch the end of the bed. This made him frightened. Maybe there were giants that slept there?

He shook with fear and then tried to crawl away from what seemed to be now, an endless bed. He reached and reached. He heard the pounding of what could have been his heart, but to him was the sound of giant feet hitting the ground. He saw a door and froze. Was that where the footsteps were comming from? If so he had to hide. But where? Where was Suike supposed to hide in a giant bed? He'd thought about the covers but, that wasn't going to work, for they were way up there and he was on them. He turned and began to crawl quickly, hoping that this was the right thing to do...
