The flag holders should be randomized.

The flag holders are as follows:

#1~ the cabin who won the last game
(ex: in LT, Luke was on the Athena team and therefore was after the Ares flag. Luke, however, is in the Hermes cabin, so when he personally got the flag, it changed from Ares to Hermes.)

#2~ the cabin who was able to keep their flag from being captured in the last game
Cabins hold their flag until someone captures it, ex: in LT, Luke caught the Ares flag and it changed to Hermes, winning that game. The Athena flag didn't change though, because nobody stole it.

The reason Athena has lead all our games so far is pure, dumb luck.
For the very 1st game, I had Ares and Athena head the teams just because I had to start somewhere.
In the 1st game, a daughter of Hades (they were allied with Athena), caught Ares's flag. Making the flagholders Hades and Athena.
In the 2nd game, a daughter of Aphrodite (they were allied with Athena), caught Hades's flag. So the flag holders are now Aphrodite and Athena.

Oh okay. Let me check the list.

Games like this that take place in forums usually end up with a lot of GM'ing. When you have two stubborn people who want to win the game, they'll usually say they beat up the guards and grabbed the flag. They then raced across the river (before the other stubborn person, of course), thus winning the game.

Things like this usually call for a dice roll so we can form the game around the winner. That's how it worked in one of my friend's RPs "Street Games". Both racers would roll the dice and whoever rolled higher would be the winner. They would then form the race around the results so you have a more dramatic and understandable game.

Good thing our games are only half of the stereotype. We have some god-modding, but we don't have two stubborn people.

I'm not talking about you in specificity. I'm talking about the overall nature of forum games. It's actually very common for a fight to last longer than it should.

You could have:

Two people that make sacrifices (ex: Block, but get cut)
Two people that are on the others' tail (ex: Blocks just in time)
Two people that GM (ex: Blocks and counters with a slice to the throat)

OR a mix (ex: One person attacks and misses. The other person comes in swiftly and stabs in the chest)

Unless you have two people who make sacrifices on a regular basis and work things out slowly (or role the dice), you'll end up with a long, boring fight.

Heh, Well... I don't really understand the "dice system." Could you and Luna talk about this since she's in charge of CTF and you came up with the idea?

Pretend the rules were that one team wants 1 - 3 on a six sided dice while the other wants 4 - 6. You roll the dice if it lands on, say 2, the team that wanted that number wins the Capture the Flag game. The game is then formed around that decision so you have a game that makes sense. Although it's a major spoiler, you know how the game's supposed to work out and can make it even more fun and dramatic.

EX: Before the game starts, Athena wants 1 - 3. Ares wants 4 - 6. Die says 2. Ares automatically loses. The game starts, battle rages, Athena wins.

Oh, okay. I think you should still contact Luna though. We should at least have 3 pages of CTF battling.

Sounds good to me! smile

The dice roll idea AND the minimum 3 pages of CtF battling.
The die will (normally) be rolled 1 week before each game. That way, players have a week to come up with strategies, but we don't take ALL the fun out of suspense. Sound good?

If yall agree, I'll do the 1st roll today. If not, just delete it please.

Let's do it!

Luna should probably do the roll for each game. Seems to me she's the most qualified for the position.

She has already done it. But Luna, As she mentioned before, Whoever takes the flag getes to be the new flag holders. Since Aprodite won, Which cabin should get thr flag?
