It was growing colder on the isle. It was that time of year that the frost began to coat the evergreens, giving it a nice sparkle when the light hit just right. The ground was frozen, making the paws of any lion cold as they walked. A bitter wind had began to blow, setting in the freezing temperature that almost every lion abhorred. Almost.
Somewhere in the distance a head peeked out from a cave, this head belonged to a black lioness. Seeing the sky open up as small tiny flakes fell from the sky she let out a high laugh. "Its snowing! Ohhh!!! Its snowing Odion!" She popped out of the cave and began to dance around, letting snowflakes fall on her tongue. "That means Christmas is soon!" Letting out another giggle, the female was full of glee until a thought hit her, "Wait... that means..." Poking her head back into the cave, "Odion... I need to see my family, I promised them I'd come home for Christmas... oh... please? They'll be lonely without me." She pleaded before even knowing what his answer might be.

Winter. To many lions and dragons it was a bothersome time, but to others it was a blessed time of year. A time to celebrate family and friends, to be surrounded by loved ones. Though He had no living relatives besides his twin sister he still found immense joy in the holiday.
Once the lioness who had occupied the cave with him had bounded about squealing in delight, he had gotten up not really wishing to. It was cozy and he was sleepy, but he was far more interested in what Koi was shouting about. Hearing the word snow caused him to jump up and head outside, very nearly bumping heads with the black lioness. "Wow! It's so fresh too!" Bounds about much like she had, grinning until he heard the change in her tone. He faced her, sitting down. "Well of..." He stopped short when she began pleading with him. He chuckled, placing a paw over her mouth gently. "I was about to say of course. Being with one's family this time of the year is very important. I would not wish for you to miss that because of me." Pulls his paw away.

Hearing Odion's statement cause Koi to squeal even more. "Ohhh... thank you! You're coming, aren't you? Mom and Dad would love to meet you." Jumping up in the air, she tackled him to the ground, licking at his face in happiness.

His face lit up as she jumped around, though she managed to catch him off guard with the jump. "Of course I'll go. If you want me to." Pulls her into a hug, licking back once. "Where do we go?"

She nodded frantically to his first question before bending down to nuzzle him, "I don't want to go without you, it wouldn't be the same." Purring, she lifted her head and motioned off toward the distance, "To the mountains Silly! My parents are mountain dwellers."

He chuckled, nuzzling her cheek gently. "I meant where in the mountains, but let's just go. You lead alright?" Smiles as he jumps up and flies high into the sky, waiting for her.

Koi gave a quick nod and poked her head out of the cave, giggling again when she saw the snow falling down upon the cold hard ground at her feet. "Well, coming Silly?" She smirked and took a hop-skip out of the cave into the cold fresh air, beginning to lead the way toward her parent's cave.

Pads out after her, following closely as he tries to figure out where in the mountains they would be going. He smiled a bit at the thought of meeting Koi's family, at least a few of them. It would be exciting indeed.

The two of them traveled for a while, climbing up into the mountains, higher and higher... until she stopped. Grinning, she pulled her head to the side and clawed at the stone ground in front of her. "They're in there." She stated, hoping she was right. Twisting her head around, she immediately smiled when she saw the vision of a black lioness coming toward her. "Mom!" Briseis was out gathering fruits for her dinner when she saw the strangest sight, was that her youngest daughter? Hearing the voice call out to her she broke into a smile and sprinted off toward Koi, instantly nuzzling against her. "My daughter..." She let out a purr, her eyes shutting.Giving a deep purr in return, Koi looked up to see Odion, a blush forming on her cheek. "Mom... this is Odion, Odion this is my mother, Briseis."

It was obvious right away where Koi got most of her markings. He smiled, sitting down while Koi nuzzled her mother, not sure what to do or say. When she mentioned his name he padded closer hoping his wolfish appearance and flaming paws wouldn't seem too weird. He bowed his head, offering a warm smile. "A pleasure to finally meet you Briseis." He marveled at how much Koi resembled her. The dark colors and the glowing moon on her forehead had always reminded him of the night sky and he adored that.

Briseis turned her head, eying over the male for a long moment as she contemplated rather she should speak to him or not. She rather disliked males, despite the fact that she was married to one and had two sons. Coming to the revelation that this male was probably important to Koi, she sucked up her pride, "Pleasure." Came her quiet voice before nuzzling Koi once more and turning to enter the cave.
Koi put a paw to her lips and giggled at her mother's shyness. After Briseis left, Koi nudged Odion, "She doesn't talk much. She never has, not even to us cubs. So you should feel privileged that she talked to you at all." Smiling, she nuzzled against Odion and then motioned for him to follow the two females into the cave.
