Darcy hated Winter. She hated the cold, though less than she hated the heat, she hated her inability to keep warm. She wasn't perched on her usual rock today, she had found that sitting on a rock in winter wasn't a good idea. And so, the orange haired preteen was leaning against her twin brother so that they were back to back, arms crossed, hands clutched in fists, trying to keep them warm in the sleeves of her sweater. Why did it have to be so cold? She shivered. It seemed Darcy was willing to push her annoyence with the weather onto her brother--fortunately for him, he was used to it.
Aaron sighed, he was holding the infant they were supposed to be giving away tonight. She was a cute one, he decided. If only Darcy would allow him to keep one... He was sure the child's future parent wouldn't be pleased to find that she'd come all this way for nothing, though. Still, he'd be sorry to see this little one go. "She'll be here," he said, responding to her unsaid complaint.

Unlike Darcy, Lamnishan did not at all hate winter. The cold was an excuse to wrap up in snuggly blankets and go around looking at Christmas lights. Being a bit lost and easily distracted, she'd ended up sidetracked a few times by said lights and so was a few minutes late.
When she arrived, the woman pleasantly waved at Darcy and Aaron. "Hello there. Isn't it a bit cold for you three to be out here?"

Aaron moved from his spot, and went to greet the woman they were supposed to give the infant to. "Hello, I am Aaron Azoulai, this is my sister Darcy. I suppose you are wondering why we summoned you at such a late hour," he began, glancing at Darcy. Usually she was the one who talked people through this, even if she was rather tactless. When Darcy made no indication that she was going to participate in this conversation, Aaron gave the woman a polite smile.
"You have been chosen to be a guardian for a very special child," he continued, looking pointedly at the infant in his arms. He shifted slightly, to provide the child with maximum comfort.
"Miss Lamnishan, I agree with you," Darcy said. "My brother and I have decided that you would be the best provider for this--"
"-child," Aaron finished for her, frowning. "We realize this must be a surprise to you--and any questions you have, feel free to ask them."

Lam grinned, "No, it's actually not really a surprise at all. My friends get these letters all the time, I was actually expecting one by this point. Erigin and I were due for another child of sorts." she stated pleasantly, reaching out to tickle the chimera girl, who giggled and curled up her tail happily.
"Mm do they have any special powers or any of that?"

A frown crossed Darcy's face. There were others like them? No one had ever expected their summons before; someone must have--no, she didn't think so. She would know if someone had revealed the secret. She pulled her arms further inside her sweater. "I honestly doubt your friends have all gotten letters from us," she remarked, silently thinking through a list of the children she had created. She was always keeping track of her experiments, whatever Aaron said.
"There could be other organizations that summon through letters," Aaron tried to calm his shivering sister. He glanced at Laminshan, and gave her another smile. "You could say that, each child here has a unique ability suited to them--we unfortunately haven't yet discovered how to tell what the child's ability is. We usually depend on the guardian to inform us when they find out what the ability is."

"Hm? Oh, no no, they were all letters from companies asking them to special labs and stuff. I just meant the concept of sending letters out to get people to come get kids is expected these days." She explained.
"Ah okay." Lam agreed. Nodding to Aaron, she reached out to tickle Cookie again. The girl giggled and wriggled herself out of Aaron's arms - promptly landing on the ground and bouncing up to Lam's. "Oh my!"

Darcy's frown faded into more of a nuetral expression. "I see... I suppose we will have to find another way that's less unexpected. We've never encountered anyone that has expected to come pick up a child upon recieving our summons." Her attention went to the infant, and she followed her with her eyes as she bounced. "Interesting..." There was a glint in her green eyes that gave away her thoughts to those who knew her well.
Aaron recognized that look. It was the one he had seen his sister give a few of the other children. "Well, we know what her ability is now," he said, looking to the woman. "It appears that she has another way to mobilize herself, since she won't be able to walk in the future. Do you have any other questions, Miss?"

"Nope, I don't think so." Lam assured the pair, "I'll get in touch with you guys if I have later questions or something?" she suggested, "You two should probably get inside."

Aaron stopped her. "Miss, could I--well, say goodbye?" He ignored his sister, who rolled her eyes. Yet another child Aaron had gotten attached to. This made almost all of them; all of them except for one. "My sister and I like to keep in touch with the children; we will probably be seeing each other fairly soon," it appeared as if he was speaking to Cookie. "We like to host parties every once in a while; I expect to see you there." He glanced up at Lam, an almost Darcy-like look crossing his face. "You will bring her, won't you?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I bring her to parties with other kids her own age and from the same place she's from? She needs people to relate to." Lam assured him, patting Cookie's head.
The little girl stretched out her arms to wrap around Aaron's neck and snuggle him, mewling sadly.

Aaron gave Cookie one last hug. "I will see you very soon, I promise," he said, petting her head. "Your new mother will take care of you now. Be good." He pulled away, smiling at the two. "You should go now, before it gets much later."
Darcy rolled her eyes. "We'll have Jaella contact you if need be," was her parting comment.

"All right. Seeya!" Lam called, taking Cookie and heading home, the little girl waving over her shoulder as they went.
