Tenmoki Aya Level 15 Chunin

Mugendai Valley

User Image

In the valley of Infinity there are tall green grasses that can reach up to a meter high. The valley is full of rolling hills of deep green and nothing more. There are not many trees to provide cover and the only tree are located near the river's edge. The wide river has cool calm waters, which are shallow with rocky bottoms. The sky is cloudy with the sun's rays peaking through from time to time. Its summertime, so the air is warm and the breeze is gentle.

My Conditions
I'm open to anything. If you want to triple team me, bring it on. If you want to fight with just hand to hand, I'm cool with that. PM first if you want to put in any special conditions.

Sitting on a large rock at the water's edge, Tenmoki Aya was skipping stones across the gentle waters of the wide river. It was late afternoon and the sun was peeking in and out through the cumulus clouds. Aya was waiting for her childhood friend Sukotto to show up! Dressed in her shinobi apparel, Aya's pale blue hair was tied back with the signature pink hibiscus flower. The flower had meaning to Aya, since it was the first flower that Kana had given her. Her boyfriend was back at the base training with Kazuma like usual. Aya was more than excited for Sukotto's visit, since that meant she would have a friend here as well for a little while! She had written him from Mugendai that she had developed a new ninjutsu and had been training very hard. Aya had waited in this spot the last few days, hoping that Sukotto would come and she had high hopes that today was the day of his visit.

[Enter Twilight]

Aya vs Sukotto Theme

A young man of medium build took his time walking through the serene area that was the Mugendai Valley. Having kept himself in Shimagakure for longer than would be considered healthy for an adventurous shinobi such as himself, it was good to finally break free of the regularities that accompanied his stalemated life. It was rare for Sukotto to even consider taking a break from his ever valuable training, but convincing him to take a break and visit was quite easy for the young girl who had gone through the trouble of getting him to the valley. As he padded along the dirt path that lead to his destination, the Uchiha took a deep breath of the air that was lightly stained with the smell of wild grass, and the occasional hint of a small community of flowers strung together like an island in the ocean of green grass that covered the area. For once, Sukotto's eyes weren't fixed on the ground in front of him as he contemplated what sort of training was in store for him next. Indeed, with the help of a girl who was practically his younger sister, the shinobi had finally taken a vacation and allowed his mind to rest for a while.

In the distance, Sukotto picked up the unmistakable sound of the river that he had been following to get to where Aya had been staying. He also noticed a different sound that occasionally took his attention away from the soft flowing noise of the water. It sounded as though something was being tossed at the water, contacting it multiple times, and then eventually stopping its journey with a sound that was louder than all of the previous ones. At first, the young man's training kicked in and his body tensed up all at once. However, he quickly realized what he was doing, blushed, and then allowed his body to relax a little. He was on a visit, not a mission for the village. In fact, he could never imagine the peace that seemed to be continuously present within the valley to cease, so he allowed his guard to fall, just a little. After climbing over a few rocks to see just what was making the noise, Sukotto saw a young woman playfully skipping stones against the river. It took him a few moments to realize that this was the very person that he had traveled to this place to see! His "little sister" had grown quite a bit since he had last seen her. Sukotto did expect this to happen, but not nearly to this extent. Once he managed to recollect himself, he approached the girl with a wide smile.

"Aya-chan! My, my have you grown since the last time I've seen you." The Uchiha chuckled lightheartedly, while shaking his head. "I must sound like an old person when claiming something like that in such a way! Forgive me, but I'm quite surprised with how time has transformed you from the little girl that I used to know into a young woman." Sukotto would never speak this way with anyone else in the village. It seemed as though this little gir.... young woman, had a knack for bringing out a completely different side in him, just like she had always managed to do for Ichi. "I know that this may seem rushed, but I've been very excited to see how you've grown as a shinobi as well. We've never really had a chance to test our abilities against each other, and I think that a sparring match would be a perfect way for you to show me that new ninjutsu of yours! Besides, I need a bit of a workout to get my body and mind energized after that long journey." Deep down the Uchiha was much more interested in the girl's abilities than he'd care to let on. He had always considered them two of the most powerful upcoming shinobi in Shimagakure, and had always wondered what it would be like for the two to meet in a sparring match. "Of course, we don't want to destroy each other, so as long as we take it easy with the offensive ninjutsu techniques, we should be safe."

The two agreed to hold a sparring match within the valley, near the bank of the river. It was too beautiful of a place to be disturbed by a serious fight, and while Sukotto and Aya would be fighting with nearly everything they had, they would do so with respect for one another, as they were each Shinobi of the same village. As the two readied their stances for combat, a strong gust of wind blew itself against their sides, deciding against favoring either of the two with an advantage unless they moved to take it.

At first, Sukotto wasn't exactly sure how to approach the Tenmoki, as he wasn't entirely sure of what she was capable of or what sort of tricks she'd have up her sleeve, if any. Instead of revealing his own strengths from the start, the Uchiha decided to open the sparring match with the same combination that he had used to asses his opponent in the Chuunin exams. It was a quick way to learn quite a few things about the adversary that he had the pleasure of facing off against, such as how they'd respond to a seemingly direct attack, and then to a surprise in the end to mix things up. Fortunately for him, Sukotto had worked quite hard on perfecting this strategy in the time following the exam, so it would be much more tricky to overcome than it had been for his opponent in the arena. Without any hesitation, the Uchiha jogged towards the girl, formed the Ram, Snake, and Tiger seals, and finally split himself in three, creating clones of himself that he had spent long hours perfecting. Even if the clones were perfect, Aya could merely guess correctly and discover the real Sukotto by chance, but using the Bunshin technique against the girl would set up somewhat of a weak barrier against her attacks. In this particular attack, two Sukottos would go on the offensive while one held back. As the pair of Sukottos on the attack charged the girl, they turned away from each other and circled themselves around to each of Aya's sides so that she couldn't see them both at the same time. After they got themselves into position, each Sukotto blinked once and replaced their hazel eyes with the blood red gaze of the Sharingan. Sukotto was going to take this fight seriously, and knew that he had to make every attack count, and the Sharingan would allow him to both discover Aya's weaknesses and make up for his own. Since he didn't want to give her any time to discover which was real, each charged the girl and performed matching flying-side-kicks straight from the original taijutsu style that the shinobi had created himself, each equally aimed at her mid section.

Clone Technique [Bunshin no Jutsu]
This technique creates intangible clones of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can usually be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.). You use this technique to confuse your opponent in order to attack them more easily.

Requirements: Must be taught.
Seals: Ram, Snake, Tiger
Special: If Clone technique is successful you may use sneak attack onto your following attack if it coincides with the technique.
Special: If opponent fails the sense/detect check and you choose to fight alongside with your clones, opponent rolls an additional "Luck" dice with their attack. This dice does not count towards their total dice roll. For them to hit you amongst all the clones, they must roll a 11 or higher. If they succeed +Luck Roll to next sense/detect roll against technique.

Aya let another rock fly across the water as the sun hid behind the clouds to cast a cool shadow across the land. It was so beautiful and balanced how the rocks made even circular ripples in the water. Even without the use of chakra control, perhaps a shinobi could run across water. This would be a nice thing to bring up to Maya who didn't practice her control very often! Just as the sun came back from behind the clouds, Aya heard her name being called by a familiar, yet deeper voice. Her face lit up just as the sun lit up the waters and caused them to sparkle. "Sukoko~!" the Tenmoki girl said cutely, just as she had when she was twelve. She stood up from the rock and skipped over to Sukotto. "I'm still pretty short," Aya admitted as she looked up to Sukotto, who was still almost a foot taller than her. The teenager couldn't help but blush as Sukotto called her a young woman. "Ne, ne~ I'm still Aya-suke!" the Tenmoki girl said, still trying to keep that cute and innocent charm around her. Aya had changed quite a bit and had become a little more mature and calm compared to her childish hyper active energy she used to possess.

Aya was more than glad when Sukotto suggested sparring right away. She had a feeling that he would be tired from the journey, but it was just the opposite and she was more than anxious to start. "Hai, Hai! Let's!" Aya agreed with a speedy reply as they ventured more into the valley. She was so excited to be sparring once again. It was very peaceful in the valley and Kana and Aya never liked to spar against one another. The effects of loving one another weighed heavily in their fighting style. It was near impossible for the two of them to spar seriously without constantly stopping and checking to see if the other was alright. As the wind announced the beginning of the fight, Aya watched as Sukotto created two clones. Living with Kana and training under Ichi, one would think Aya would've been a master of detecting genjutsu, but that just wasn't the case! Ever since Kana used genjutsu to cast an image of Moma-Yuki dying, the boy had never used genjutsu on Aya again.

Sukotto did seem to have a little of Ichi's training in him, since his genjutsu was above an average shinobi's. Aya knew she wouldn't be able to differentiate him from his clones, which meant she would have to take them all out one by one. Two Sukotto's came at Aya while the third held back. Her blue eyes watched Sukotto move at her while she kept her eyes locked on the one standing still. He blinked only once to bring out the red color of the sharingan. Aya was surprised and also noticed that Sukotto's was different from Ichi's. THis lead to be a big distraction to Aya as Sukotto flew at her with strong kicks. She crouched down quickly to try and fly backwards, but her feet barely made it off the ground before she was hit.

From that strong attack alone, Aya had knew that she wouldn't be able to take on Sukotto out in the open like this. Skidding into the grass and falling to her back, Aya rolled backwards to her feet. She would be alright, but what she would do next would turn the tide of the battle, at least she hoped, in her favor. With lightning speed, Aya put her hands together and performed the four seals to Kirigakure no jutsu. A large portion of the field they were fighting in quickly covered with a dense fog as if the clouds had come to settle on the beds of grass. Aya moved in the fog quickly, even taking extra cover in the grass. She knew that with Sukotto's sharingan there would be no chance of her hiding without the fog to aid her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. Aya hadn't fought an opponent that might be stronger than her in a long time... ever since she and Kana lost Jin. Hiding herself in the blades of grass within the fog, Aya awaited to see what Sukotto would do.

After Sukotto's kick met its target without any trouble, the Uchiha used the momentum gained from striking Aya's body to vault himself into a defensive position, preparing himself for either an acrobatic assault or some form of water-based ninjutsu; as his fellow shinobi recovered herself, it seemed as though he'd be facing the latter. 'Serpent, Rat, Ox, Dragon.... Must be changing the scenery a little, and how I've enjoyed this sunny day,' the shinobi thought silently to himself. From reading the girl's hand seals with his Sharingan, and knowing many of the jutsu that was used by most shinobi in Shimagakure, the Uchiha quickly deduced that his sparring partner was summoning one of her trademark jutsu, the Hiding Mist Technique. Sukotto had expected Aya to bring forth this move at some point in the battle, unless of course she had really changed in the time that they had been away from one another. The technique worked to enhance many skills that were vital to coming out on top in a battle, one of the most prominent of these was the skill to hide from one's enemy without actually having the need to lose sight of them in the process. Since the terrain wasn't exactly ideal for hiding from an opposing shinobi, the mist would make up for that and would lend the girl a chance to better prepare her assault.

If Aya had been a student of his, Sukotto would have taken the time to interrupt the atmosphere of the fight and tell her that attempting a stealth technique such as Kirigakure no Jutsu against a sentry technique like his Sharingan was very risky unless one was properly prepared for the jutsu to fail. To Sukotto, it was obvious that he wouldn't be able to completely counter the jutsu, considering how well Aya understood the nature of chakra, however, she didn't quite have the same proficiency when it came to hiding, and without that, part of the jutsu would be rendered ineffective. The Hiding Mist Technique had other uses, of course, and since Sukotto didn't have the skill to completely see through it, having activated it already would likely benefit Aya in the future. Since the girl was even more experienced in the way of the ninja that he was, Sukotto decided against verbally pointing out the risk associated with using the mist technique against his Sharingan. It was likely that the girl had experienced a great deal of success with the jutsu, given that she had used it so early in the sparring match, so Sukotto decided that he would wait and see just what sort of tricks would lay in wait for him, hidden within the mist. If the mist couldn't quite live up to the strength of the Sharingan, then Aya would soon discover that and would have to work on improving her skill with the jutsu, in case she ever came across a dangerous enemy who had abilities similar to that of an Uchiha.

The male shinobi closed his eyes for a moment, listening to the air around him. Aside from the wind that had died down to a gentle breeze, and the grass lazily swaying with it, there was only silence. It seemed as though Aya had hidden herself well enough for Sukotto to need to rely on his kekkai genkai to discover her, so he allowed each of his eyes to slowly open, adjusting to the light that the mist had shifted with its looming presence. The four black islands surrounded by a sea of red scanned the immidate area very carefully, making sure that Aya wouldn't attempt some sort of close ranged assault against Sukotto. If he didn't manage to locate her with this initial scan, Sukotto would then shift his eyes to medium range, which would be the most likely place a shinobi would utilize an offensive water-based ninjutsu technique. If the Uchiha didn't find the girl by this time, he would begin to worry, as he didn't know of Aya using any long ranged weapons or even advanced techniques. However, he had no idea what the specific properties of her new ninjutsu were, so it was definitely possible, though still unlikely that it could be one that possessed the ability to be activated from a distance. His last scan would, of course, be based at this range, and if he didn't manage to discover Aya by then, then he'd have to prepare himself for a sneak attack.

The concentrated gaze of Sukotto's Sharingan managed to pierce the thick layers of fog that separated him from Aya. He couldn't quite tell what she was planning, as the girl was laying motionless in the grass. Truth be told, if the Chuunin had been blindfolded, then he wouldn't have been able to use any of his other senses well enough to detect the girl, as she had made sure to remain still and had clearly lowered her breathing pace, which was made obvious by how slowly and carefully her body moved as she took in shallow breaths of air to conceal any sort of noise caused by inhaling or exhaling. The young man had the clone that happened to be in front of Aya stare directly at the girl while he and the other bunshin, who were each positioned behind her, made it seem as though they were still searching. He hoped that this would throw her off, as it would be natural to assume that the real Sukotto would be the one who was staring at her in her hiding spots, not one of the intangible illusions. The female shinobi seemed to remain true to her stealth training, as she didn't move a muscle, not even slightly, in response to the clone's stare. Sukotto would attempt to do the same if he was in her position, as it would be possible that the seeker could falsely pretend as though they had located the hider, causing the hider to reveal their position when it hadn't even been discovered in the first place. Normally, Sukotto didn't hesitate when it came to attacking, but he did for a moment in this case, just to test whether or not Aya would budge, and she did not.

With a bit more information about his sparring partner stored within his mind, Sukotto and the clone who had appeared to have spotted the girl blitzed the girl from opposite directions, reducing her breathing room in an attempt to make dodging the attack more difficult. Since his clone was assisting him with the assault and it seemed as if the girl hadn't figured out which one was real, Sukotto would once again have the element of surprise on his side, so long as the girl couldn't tell the two apart before they reached her. If everything went according to the Uchiha's plan, he would drop himself to the ground as he neared Aya, and use the dampened grass to perform a sliding knee strike aimed at her wounded side once again, near her lower rib. Since this strike would likely cause the girl to rise to her feet if he was able to land it, Sukotto would then follow her motions and use this movement to launch a rising knee strike against that same side of her body. While this would probably cause Aya to fall back a little and give her time to prepare another assault, Sukotto figured that it would also give him time to study any incoming attacks before, during, and after they were made, giving him a greater chance to avoid them and follow up with a counter.

The grass brushed gently against her as Sukotto stood with his eyes closed trying to determine her position. With the wind's death, the grass stood still just as Sukotto opened his eyes. His red sharingan began scanning the area. Aya wasn't close enough to his the black of his pupil change as it adjusted the light intake. As the wind stopped moving, Aya made sure to carefully breath through her nose and not move a muscle in order to blend in. It was no use though. Sukotto had seen her. Two of the images of the senior shinobi came racing at her. She wasn't sure which way to move, so she guessed, but it had been the wrong move. Aya felt a stinging sensation hit her already wounded side. At first she curled inwards due to the pain, but then reached out to put her hand down, exposing her side once again as she attempted to catch herself from falling. It was a bad move and she hit again with a more solid hit from the knee.

Taking a few steps back, Aya had a feeling that there would be no way that she could use her Kirigakure as long as Sukotto had his sharingan out. Did the sharingan use chakra? She believed so, but how much did it use? Would he tired out soon? Aya wasn't sure, but she would have to beat him in this through chakra endurance. "Your sharingan's strong," she said while stumbling to her feet finally. Aya put her hands together in seals once again. Since Sukotto had clones, Aya thought that perhaps she would make it a little more even and create some clones of her own. "Mizu Bunshin no jutsu," she said as clones leaped forth from the peaceful river to stand next to Aya. The mist began to clear as the clones all stood around Aya.

She had created five to stand with her, just enough for them to all double team each of the Sukotto's. Since she couldn't tell which one was him, she would narrow it down to finding the real one by taking out his clones. In a weave, Aya integrated herself with her clones as she sent pairs of two at each Sukotto. She stayed close to try and grapple one of the two that just attacked her with the slide and knee kick. Another pair of her clones stayed close to attack the other that charged with the attack, while the last pair of clones went after the Sukotto that hung back.

Aya wasn't very strong when it came to grappling, but she had gained a little experience with grappling. She had never known Sukotto to be an escape artist, but with that Sharingan, it would be hard to know just how perceptive he was. Each clone attack with the same style of a grapple. They would all bend down at the waist as if they were going to tackle Sukotto straight to the ground, and that's exactly what they were going to do, except a little more graceful than a straight tackle. Aya and her clone wouldn't be able to sync perfectly like the others due to Aya's side injury, but they would each lend a hand in grabbing Sukotto by the sides and picking him up in order to sweep him off the earth and slam him into the ground while being on top of him. The slam to the grass would force the clones top disperse for sure! At least that's what Aya was hoping for.

I never realized that we did that now. I've always just posted the damage directly after a defensive post, it was the way I was raised.... In addition, only one of those attacks was guaranteed to hit Aya with full force, so that's why I didn't simply generate the damage ^^;;

Perhaps we should make it a rule and put it into the rule thread so that people can refer to it when they're in a fight, else old timers like me will just do it the way it's always been done if they happen to miss the suggestion. But from now on, I will generate the damage after my offensive post.

Aya: +24 Experience [+6 Level, +18 Quality, +0 Teamwork], +1 Skill [Tumble/Ninjutsu/Hide]

Good luck in your next match! ^^

Hanabira was a little nervous coming out on the field of Mugendai. Awkwardly she had been invited to study Ichi's condition with Aya while Tanu had come to visit her cousins. In order to give them a break from fire and researching, Aya had asked to the two girls to join in her a spar. Hanabira was a little hesitant fighting alongside Tanu, a girl who was known for not working well with anyone. Only Kiba and Shin could stand her attitude and work alongside her. They did a really good job fighting in the Meho war side by side, but Hanabira wasn't too sure on how she and Tanu's teamwork would do. They had completely opposite fighting styles and Hanabira hoped that wouldn't clash. The tall grasses of the field tickled her legs and came up to her waist. It was so beautiful here... Hanabira was a little jealous of Aya, Kazuma and Kana. They got this view everyday and this type of peace. Hanabira wanted this type of land all to herself. She closed her olive eyes for a moment to take it all, before opening to spot Aya waiting for them to take the first move.

Aya was said to be one of the strongest chunins. She and Sukotto were both very powerful. Hanabira knew that she and Tanu were in for a hard training lesson today. "Tanu-chan..." Hanabira whispered lightly, hoping that the girl was ready for an attack. The Yamanaka had devised several special attacks using their skills and discussed them with Tanu while they walked out to the field. Hopefully Tanu would remember the things that Hanabira told her. Sliding her fingers in and out in the forms of the ram, snake and tiger seals, Hanabira dispelled her chakra to create four clones of Tanu. "Bunshin no jutsu," she whispered, ready to have her clones move with Tanu in a moment's notice.

Utilizing Bunshin to Help Tanu
Control Bonus: 3
1d20 + Genjutsu {31} = 48
1d20 + Teamwork {12} = 28

HP: 33
CP: 30 - {2CP x 4 Clones} = 22

Clone Technique [Bunshin no Jutsu]
This technique creates intangible clones of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can usually be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.). You use this technique to confuse your opponent in order to attack them more easily.
Cp Cost: 2 per bunshin
Damage: None
Requirements: Must be taught.
Seals: Ram, Snake, Tiger
Special: If Clone technique is successful you may use sneak attack onto your following attack if it coincides with the technique.
Special: If opponent fails the sense/detect check and you choose to fight alongside with your clones, opponent rolls an additional "Luck" dice with their attack. This dice does not count towards their total dice roll. For them to hit you amongst all the clones, they must roll a 11 or higher. If they succeed +Luck Roll to next sense/detect roll against technique.
Special: 1 Bunshin per 5 Ranks control.

Tanu wasn't too sure at all if Hanabira was going to live up to her genjutsu talk, but she was sure to find out now! Pounding her fist into her open palm, Tanu approached Aya with Hanabira. "Are you ready for this?" Tanu said, thinking that she had been training hard with her cousins, so she was tougher than can be. There were rumors about Aya being strong in ninjutsu, but Tanu had never seen it. When she first came to the academy, Tanu had tackled her cousin down to the ground who was a genin at the time, so this would be a cinch! Hanabira had come up with a few teamwork plans for the two to execute, but Tanu hadn't been fond of most of them. Their opening one was a good one though! "We got this, Hana-chan!" Tanu called out as the clones took form around her. Quickly, Tanu darted forward with all her strength in her leg, thinking that the clones would keep up. Little did the Kun Kumo know that clones weren't even half as strong as their user. Tanu didn't understand genjutsu too much, but she thought for sure since Hanabira was good at it, she'd be able to have her clones keep up with Tanu.

Charge with Hana's Bunshins!
1d20 + Taijutsu [18] = 30
1d20 + Teamwork [8] = 21

Teamwork Failed
Attack: 48 + 30 = 78
Teamwork: 28 + 21 = 49

Aya lifted her arms high over her head in a rather long stretch. "Aw~" the first chunin of the Tenmoki clan sighed. The afternoon sun always made her so sleepy! "I'm ready Hana-chan, Tanu-chan!" Aya said cutely as she waited for the two girls to make their first move. When Hanabira made her clones, Aya had to say that she was rather impressed. Her genjutsu was just as powerful as some of the chunins in Shimagakure. And her ability to make 4 clones at once proved that she had good control. It had been a right move to send Hanabira to learn about medical terms. She could be a good medical kunoichi some day! Pushing the thoughts aside, Aya prepared herself for battle. With a hand on her hip she watched as the clones of Tanu charged at her. She shook her head. It seemed pretty obvious which one was the real Tanu.

Quickly putting her hands together, Aya used Kawamiri no jutsu and replaced herself quickly with a small wet log that had been lying near the riverside. Zipping through the clones, Aya unsheathed her short blade. Witch the steady slice through each clone, the loud popping noise of a few of them disappearing echoed n the valley. Her blade stayed steady as she ran through and let the blade cut through the abdomens of Tanu and then Hanabira, who would have ample time to move since Aya had to run quite a ways through the clones to get to her. As she made her last slice, she sheathed the short blade and turned to stand in front of Hanabira and Tanu to see if any clones had made it. "You're gonna have to have better teamwork than that," Aya stated with a small encouraging smile.

This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack.
