Many people say that good writers are good readers. I want to know what everyone likes to read (types of books, specific books, and so on). This is also a good recommendation thread if you feel like making some.

I read just about anything, as long as it goes away from the real world. Like, the City of Glass series, I only read that because it was fantasy, but if someone asked me to read something about some dude in America that tried to get up a big business, I wouldnt read it. :/
I read to get away from the real world.
Oh yea. I'm done reading anything vampire based unless it's by P.C Cast (because she is god) Charlaine Harris or Richelle Mead.
I personally recommend Divine by Mistake, Divine by Choice, and Divine by Blood, by P. C cast, anything by Scott Westerfeld, and the Sookie Stackhouse series, just because the first and the last arent sugarcoated at all, and Scott Westerfeld has some genius ideas. 3nodding

I know it’s a great genre, but do you think the real world is boring?

It's mostly because my dad is in the military (he's in Iraq right now), and when I'm reading, I'm reading to get the hell away from the real world, and with fantasy, that's the easiest way for me. That's why I cant stand, and usually piss my English teachers off by not reading the books they assign: not only are they boring, but they arent my genre.
Same thing when I'm writing, though I'm a bit more lenient. 3nodding

I read everything. If I get bored, I read the ingredients list on house cleaners. I particularly like fantasy and sci-fi because it's what I was raised on. Favorite authors: Rob Thurman, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs (when she's creating a world) and I love The Night Room by E.M. Goldman.
