I think it mostly just needs smoother lines and to be a bit more "relaxed". Despite the pose, the picture overall looks kinda "stiff". For example, her arm is straight... someone who's relaxing would probably have it bent or something. Her shoulders are raised and very close to her head. The frills could maybe use a little more life, too. The tail is the biggest victim of this, I think. It looks spikey instead of soft and furry. Well, maybe you want it to be spikey, but I think it needs to look smoother overall. Those 3 spikes inside of the tail could be removed entirely. I like to fill space like that, too, but it won't look right unless you know what you're doing... I have the same problem, lol. Another problem is the legs... I'm not sure if they're supposed to be crossed or not, but it doesn't look right how one thigh is clearly longer than the other. The leg "on top"... the foot looks like it might be her right foot (the way it's facing). If it's supposed to be her left foot, well... the leg should be more evidently bent towards us, I guess. Lastly, tilt your head so that you can look at her face on the same angle. The face looks kinda slanted... maybe the head, too, to a lesser extent.
The animal in the back looks very good, though. Well, I can't draw animals at all, so I dunno what that opinion's worth. Maybe the ear in the back could be moved a bit more to the right.

I agree with Zantetsken, but I do have one more thing to add: if you're going to ever color with pencils, color pencils, pens, always color in the same direction on the part you're coloring. So if you start coloring diagonally on pants, stay diagonal. If you're shading, go in a different direction
