I'm wondering if gyroball does more damage if the pokemons speed is slower than the opponents or faster? My bet is that it's for slower users but then why the hell does electrode learn it? gonk
Anyhow, does this look like a good set for a Torkoal to you?
Torkoal @ Leftovers White smoke Sassy - 104 HP + 252 Atk + 152 Sp.def - Curse - Gyroball - Amnesia/rest - rapid spin/sleep talk
I noticed Torkoal lacks Sp.def so I might put amnesia on it. But then I also thought toxic/T.spikes are a big threat too so I might switch lefties for a chesto berry and give it rest or keep leftovers and put sleep talk too. Argh idk, should I just go for bastiodon instead? :/

It says I think on the description of the TM that it causes more damage when used by a slower Pokemon such as Bronzong..Remember the battle with Byron? He uses Gyroball a crap load of times his Bastiodon was terribly slow

Oh yeah, so it does. ^^ But I don't think Bastiodon can learn gyro ball >; I'd have to go with something like Iron head or rockslide.

Gyro reaches maximal damage when speed is significantly lower than that of its opponent.if its an opponent of equal or less speed, the power is VERY weak.
Macadamia:you have to prepare for those precautions with your own steel pokemon, lets say choosing piplup in the beginning. smile
Bastiodon would make a good Iron Head'er

I tend to think on the defense side more then offense....

stockpile and cosmic power are the only moves that can do that, and i don't think they can learn either.you'd have to go with reflect and light screen for Bronzong,Iron Defense for Bastio.(weren't we just talking about Gyro Ball and Torkoal? >.> )

If I were to ever make a bastiodon set (which I probably will) I'll either use:
rest + sleep talk + curse + Iron head - to avoid getting too low on HP whilst upping my defence and protection from EQ and close combat.
Orrrr a set with focus sash and metal burst to suprise any fighting/ground types who wanna have a pop at him.
