This thread might be kinda pointless since this is a PJO guild, but I just had another rush of grattitude I wanted to express ^^
And it made me wonder: What do YOU love about PJO?

For starters I love RR's characters. I could treat you to hour-long rants on his portrayal of the gods and how he mixed up the Greek and Roman stuff (die die die!), but all of the characters are just so amazing, especially Percy's sarcasm and sense of humor.

I also like how literally easy to read they are. 'Course, the demigods idea just tickles me since I'm A.D.D. and dyslexic, but the books never bore me and even if the alphabet just isn't behaving, I can usually read PJO books. Dunno why exactly, but it's font and page contrast and stuff.

In addition, it's a 4th-5th grader's book series that is enjoyed by adults too.

What do you guys think?

I like how it always entertains, how you die to get the next book. How it makes me laugh, especially the Troll brothers.

I personally love PJO because of all the humor and action and a bunch of other things. The thing I really love is how the author combined Greek Mythology with well the real world and how they had demigod children. After I finished one of the books I just couldn't wait for the next one. It makes me want more. I liked the prophecies Rick put into the series, they were like riddles to make you think like "What's going to happen?" The slight cursing... Makes feel kind of good. I also liked the characters he put into the series. They have like totally different personalities like from Dark to Brave. This series is packed with Humor,Action,Drama, and... GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!!

If you look at my bookshelf, you'd see many books in which supernatural things happen in our world. Some of them are crammed into the bottom shelf to rot because they suck and don't have good explanations for why people don't realize what's going on around them. But others, like PJO, have precident on the second shelf (right by my hands, lol) BECAUSE they're beautifully thought out, well written, do not have cop out explanations for everything, and they just plain make me laugh. RR has an astounding ability to make the characters both fantastic and relatable. I mean, you can totally see yourself being attacked by a harpy at your school, because Percy doesn't suddenly realize he has amazing powers that he immediately knows how to control, and he isn't beautiful and perfect like a lot of other characters out there. He also doesn't just SAY he isn't beautiful and perfect but he actually is. (Cough, Bella Swan, cough cough, gag.) He's really and truly a great big dork. But he's also amazingly cool and badass at the same time.
God. I can't even explain it properly. I just adore these books!

Why I like Percy Jackson and the Olympians? So many reasons. I first heard of the series in....January? Yea. We were beginning to study Ancient Greece in S.S., and my teacher brought the first three books in to add to her library thing. She had a few kids take turns reading the first chapter of The Lightning Thief, and I was pretty much the only one who seemed to be listening. Then I got to read the last part, when Mrs.Dodds goes all crazy and Percy kills her. Then sonce it was Friday she said nobody could borrow the book until Tuesday, 'cause we had Monday off. That drove me off the wall, becasue I had to know what happened after. Then when we got back to school the first thing I did was grab the book. I read the three and borrowed the 4th from the library.
Huh, that was a lot to say. I guess that helps me say how much I like the series because before then I was a stupid twilight fan. I re-read those books over and over and over again, saw the movie and had t shirts and everything. PJO was like a good old slap in the face to remind me what an actual good book was like. It helped me ditch twilight for good books with plot, character development, along with some pretty good female characters that were nothing like Bella Sue.
And then, I have to agree with everyone else that posted in this thread before me about why they like the series. I have so much more to say, but for now that's more than enough.
