the Epee is a tiny, ancient planetary defense fighter, originally made for atmospheric use only, but it was later modified for space use. It is horribly inadequate in most regards compared to contemporary fighters, but it can still be useful in sufficient numbers.
===== 2. History and Background =====
The Epee was designed as a small, lightweight, inexpensive fighter for planetary defense within atmosphere. it was carefully made from composite materials and is capable of being made from a kit using what were household items at the time of its introduction. It was created with both Terrans and Drathonians in mind, as well as many outher OUTO species, and can be easily converted to comfortable fit many species.
It was heavily used during the Border wars, by both sides, and many ancient fighter aces got their first taste of combat in this venerable little fighter.
After several centuries, it fell out of service, with only Moonies using them for training purposes and the defense of their free states, as the materials needed to make them are not as harshly controlled by the Drathonian empire's industrial machine.

The Moonie model consists of a speciel bench which allows the moonie to lie face forward in the cockpit, with the controls hanging just beneath the chest section. there is a harness to allow the tail to help control, along with the joystick controls. Pilots must wear special void suits and helmets to fly this craft as it is not sealed.

Chemical propelled cannons: (4) These ancient, simple machineguns fire solid slugs at high speeds, hitting things and making lots of noise in atmosphere. thankfully, Kinetic energy does give feedback to shields so these guns aren't completely useless. These guns have 1,000 rounds each, making a total of 4,000 rounds.
