Our first work will be a sigil to ensure that we will be confident enough to perform the work ahead of us, and it also will help encourage a positive attitude for the forthcoming days, refreshing those around us with the same energies. So, here we go.

Making the Sigil
[Explanation] Sigil magic starts with a statement of intent, a phrase or sentence that does just what the name implies: states our intent. Via Austin Osman Spare’s method, we then remove the repeating letters, leaving us with a picture to make from the letters themselves. We then truncate this into something aesthetically pleasing.

Charging and Using the Sigil
Unlike most of the sigils used in chaos magick, it won’t be required to forget the meaning of the sigil after its energies have been sent off into the universe. That will be the job of other people’s minds.
First, print out the sigil, in color. Stand before it and imagine the following:

You’re standing before a body of water in a familiar place. It’s the same season as it is at present: watch the splendor of nature appear around you, and be at peace with it. There are figures off in the distance, people you know, but those you wish you knew more. You find that you’re holding a jar, with the sigil engraved on the side. The jar is filled with murky water: it’s your uncertainty and your lack of confidence. Gaze into it for a moment and see everything that could hinder your first steps into this work. You’re emptying the jar now into the body of water, and as you do you feel it filling with air: this is a good wind, and a good omen for the future. The gust fills the jar even more so, and you feel it become a container of a lively breeze, swirling inside the jar, the sigil. You’re now pointing the jar’s mouth to the sky, and this gusty confidence swirls out of the jar/sigil to draw the far-away figures toward you: giving their features definition, giving your intent definition. You smile. You're ready to be the mediator. You're ready to balance yourself with these works. This is confidence.

From now on, when you speak with someone, especially outside, visualize the gust of wind come from your sigil and refresh their journey through the world, so that they may take it with a confident smile. This is your visualization and the power of the sigil – as well as the power of your Self, at work.

To further charge the sigil with energy, display it somewhere publicly. Whenever someone asks you about it, tell them it’s for a project about confidence, or that it’s a symbol of confidence: go off from this and ask that person what brings them confidence, no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable you may be with speaking to them. When they answer you, write their reason around the sigil, or remember their words to write on the printed-out version, if you decide on displaying it in another way.
Keep the sigil on display for 12 days or until you get 12 responses, or both. After that, tuck it away quietly and the people you have spoken to will most likely have forgotten about your symbol.

And that is how the magick works. Your Will quietly slides into the backs of other’s minds, but the confidence will remain, for them and for you.
