So I bought me Leon. These are the first 5 sentences I made Leon say:
"My name is Leon. I am the first Vocaloid. I sound like crap. Thank you so much for your effort, Master. Grrr...."
He sounds like a computer, and is very hard to work with. That's to be expected for a newbie though, haha. xD
Any one out there has some experience in using these programs? I'm wondering how you could add music soundtracks in there. :0

Yen Quest I'm wondering how you could add music soundtracks in there. :0 I assume you're talking about mixing? You'll need to use other programs for this or freeware general audio editing programs. I normally would recommend Audacity, but it doesn't have ReWire support (which Vocaloid uses). Although it doesn't matter if you decide to mix the tracks separately.

So I need another program, and then get some mp3 for the instrumentals... -ponders away-

Very few musicians working with music digitally are going to be dealing with .wav files in the first place other than exporting, if they're composing a song on the computer. Most Vocaloid composers I talk with on Twitter play the vocal score on their keyboard, save it as MIDI, export it into Vocaloid, edit in the lyrics, vibrato and etc., and then export it and mix with the instrumental using another program.

I see... I just learned about the MIDI thing being a nice shortcut, but the chances of finding singing lyrics in MIDI form is hard, let alone karaoke versions of a song. :0 Oh man, I can't play instruments, and I don't have a music program (for instruments). Sounds like I'm starting way from scratch. Haha, I'm going way over my head if I want to make some kind of song without some kind of skeleton. xD

I'm also new to using vocaloid. I have Miriam, but probably am not of much use. Though, I feel as though I am either in the same boat as you, or atleast paddling and flailing a bit behind. I wish you much luck with Leon. Personally, I am trying to find out if this is something I could buy and use for Miriam.

Image Line FL Studio 9 Producer sounds great. Thanks for mentioning about it. I can't spend any more money on programs though. Just recently spend some mula for Microsoft and Adobe packs for college. If I ever decided to go toward music creation, then I'll try my hands out on mixing and such. So far it's going to be highly unlikely because I'm planning to go for Graphic Design, Web Design, and then Game Design.
This is what I get for jumping into something without thinking first. Oh well, I'll play around with what I got. I wish you best of luck with Miriam too. xD

Ha, no problem. I've always heard good things about FL Studio, so I looked around until I found something that sounded nice.
Playing around with vocaloid is very fun. I like trying to make her just talk, as well as sing. Also, thanks. I might need a little luck. >‿<
