Viktor nodded understanding her explanation, "That's very interesting. I've never really met anyone quite like you," he said serious. "Have your visions ever saved someone's life before? Lleshena have you ever glimpsed something you weren't suppose to see?" Viktor went into a daze of fascination of her and couldn't stop the questions from spilling out before he knew what he was saying. "Sorry about the bombardment," he mummbled slightly embarrassed and gave a goofy smile.
It wasn't for a moment that he realized just how old and wise she really was, and a questions dawned on him, rushing out before he could stop himself. "Have you ever found someone you loved? Someone other than family?"

She looked at the male a little oddly, he was certainly interested. She found this odd. There weren't many whom were interested in anything beyond what she could tell them, and those that were were usually only cubs. Finding a full grown adult that cared, especially a male, was rare. "Saved someone's life?" She shook her head slightly, "It depends on the way you look at it. I've had visions that could have saved lives, but the people I told ignored them. I've also had visions that set a very depressed lioness to a very happy life because she actually heeded my words. "Something I wasn't suppose to see..." Her eyes became distant, "Too many times..."
To the last statement she choked. He really was getting personal, wasn't he? But why? "Once... very long ago. When I was still apart of my tribe and a young adult lioness.. I was betrothed. He died saving me." She bit down on her lip though her eyes refused to note that the male existed. She was in memory for a long moment before she finally broke their trance. "Long ago."

Viktor shut his mouth. He could see the distant look in her eyes and decided it was for the best to stop asking her questions. Instead he tried to find something to say to make her feel better and gave himself a mental paw-palm to the forehead, "You're an amazing lioness, and I bet that lion was lucky to have you too. Anyone would be blessed to even know you!"
Viktor looked back up to the stars, "Can you read the stars?"

She smirked and laughed slightly, "You're either very young, or very naive." She wasn't quite aware how harsh that may have seemed until she said it aloud. "I just mean... I'm not that great." Her eyes raised up toward the sky, "I know a few things about them, but I'm not an astronomer, unfortunately." Watching the twinkling up in the sky, she finally turned to face him again, "So what about you... do you.. or have you had anyone you love?"

Viktor smirked and didn't deny anything, "Well I must disagree m'lady. You're gifted in my book." There was a silence before he answered he question. It wasn't that he hadn't met another he held close to his heart, but he never believed in love. Not after what he had seen what his mother had been put through when he was a teen.
"You could say I've felt greatly for another, but what is love really?" He held a sadness in his eyes and turned his head, hoping she hadn't seen, "I mean I once thought I loved her, but when I heard the words come from her mouth, I wasn't so sure. It reminded me of my father, so I left without a word and she's now with someone else, or that's what I've heard."

"Perhaps you did love her. Perhaps you were scared of hurting her. The problem is... that you gave into those fears until they became true." Though with saying that she was a little curious as to what had happened with his father, though unlike him, Lleshena knew when to keep her mouth shut. "You do believe in love. I can feel that you do. You're just afraid of it. Your past has taught you that love is nothing but disappointment and pain. Its a hard lesson to learn. Sometimes that comes with love, but so does growth and joy." She sat up a little straighter, her eyes peering up toward the moon that hovered above the two of them.

Viktor nodded and felt how true her words were, "I guess my father is still living in my shadow, even though he's dead. I had hoped my fears died with him," he shook his head and chuckled. "I guess not," he looked at her and found her to be enchanting in the moonlight. Viktor scooted closer to her, but not too close as to alert her or make her feel uncomfortable and glanced up at the stars, all the while he watched her out of the corner of his eye.

Lleshena nodded a bit, "We all hope to be the absence of our parents, but when we fight it when tend to create our own problems. If we try too hard to be something we're not than we aren't ourselves... and so we tend to lack in something else." She turned her head to glance at him with a smile, "I'm sure you will get better in time, and learn how to be comfortable being who you are, regardless of what your father may have done in the past. Its not your fault, and what he did does not mean that will be your fate."

"But how do you find yourself after years of being something else?" Viktor gazed up at the stars as if they held the answer he was looking for. "Why can't any one life be easy?"

"Because, if it were easy than we wouldn't be fit to live it. Life is a gift, and we must earn the right to live it." Lleshena let out a sigh, her eyes drifting to the ground. The male did indeed seem young, charming, but much younger than she was. Not that she would hold such a thing against him, but his youth showed through his questions and attentiveness. "You find yourself by going through the trials. They weather you, they tame you and shape you into what you need to be, even if it doesn't always seem that way." Her tail flicked. "You have a good heart Viktor. You will make it through, I have no doubt."

"My mother used to say, make life your own and don't be afraid to make mistakes. I've been afraid of the mistakes I might make," Viktor took his gaze from the stars to the moon and smiled warmly. "I can see her sometimes, I wish she didn't have to go," he knew he didn't really have to say anything more, but it helped when he talked about his mother. "She died saving me and my brother and sister from our father."

"Then she died bravely." She knew the words probably weren't comforting, but it was the truth. "She died giving you everything she could, her eternal love. There is no greater show of love than to give up your life so that someone else can live. You may think you don't know how to love, but you have the greatest example of it. An example greater than anyone else could ever show you." She gave a faint smile at him, hoping that she had helped him somehow, but unsure if she had done more than annoy him or tell him something he already knew.

Viktor smiled warily and nodded, "Aye that she did." He felt some irritation at hearing the familiar words, but there was some comfort in them.

Lleshena gave a slight nod as she let out a sigh. She didn't know what to say any longer. "You will be fine.. in time." She stated. She knew that wasn't what he wanted to hear but she was drawing a blank on the matter. "At least... that's what I keep telling myself. Its what I keep hoping... that in time.. it'll go away and you'll move on. Its what we're suppose to do, isn't it?" Her voice was unsure was she looked off toward the sky.

"We all will be fine, it takes time to heal wounds as they say. Sometimes it takes longer than time itself," Viktor stared up at the sky and caught a few stars twinkling in one particular area. He found those same stars almost every night and hoped that they meant something. But he could never find out what.
Sighing, he let the matter draw to a close and lay on the ground staring up at the night sky.Fin
