i've had Amber, my dog, for 10 years now. she's been my best friend and closest companion since i was 8 years old. well, she's been sick for a few weeks now, in and out of the vets office; they haddn't been able to figure out whats wrong. but they think it's a type of doggie cancer. papa has just taken her again. only this time, theres a real good chance she wont ever be coming home. i've been crying since they walked out the door. i've known it was coming for days now, but it didn't register untill my papa came out to get her. it was like a slap to the face. someone yelling in your ear 'hey, shes going to DIE. shes never coming back and theres not a damn thing you can do about it.' i always made fun of people who cryed over thier pets. but i didn't ever reolise how much it hurt. she was a part of my family and now shes gone.

its alright. hes home now. she is not. i know it was really stupid, but i was holding some kind of foolish hope. like they where going to maraculusly come up with some miracle cure and she'd be alright. i know things dont work that way, and i just made it harder by hoping. but i couldn't help it.

Yeah, I know what it's like to lose a pet that was really close. But I didn't know he would die. I had a pet named Daxter (yes, named after the otsel on Jak and Daxter) and he was amazing. The sweetest little thing. One morning, I went to check on him. At first, when I saw him "sleeping" in the tube, I thought it was unusual. He ususally slept somewhere else. I rubbed his back, trying to get him up. Then it hit me. It fell down, crying. I just couldn't believe it. I didn't want to, but he was gone.

Ya, loosing a pet is really hard. I was sad when my chihuahua, Cocoa Bear, ran away. My golden retriever, Kourage, is nearing the ten year mark. My mom said golden retrievers don't usually live past ten. I don't like to listen to her, but I know it'll come eventually. cry

I know how that is, I lost my rotwillier to cancer.
The worst part is she took her to the vet, to "put her down" without letting me say goodbye. I still resent her for it.
Losing a pet is never easy, and it really hurts. I have another dog now and she's 10...I know it's going to happen again in a couple of years.

My dog just died recently he was like 7 his kidney failed and they thought he might of had cancer but they had to put him down before the blood work and IV's showed if he had anything else. My parents think the medicane he was on cause the kidney failure. My other dog has changed so much. It hurts me.
