In this game you are free to create any character you want. Completely open. Any system you want, so long as it fits into the classic dnd environment. [So, character sheets in 3.5 format por favor.]
Level 10 characters.
Basic Plot:
An old and powerful wizard has sent an urgent summons. It is up to the three of you to explore the cavern he has discovered and retrieve a powerful magic that was taken from him.
There is a twist that I think will be fun. You will discover it... later.

This sounds like fun. I have a thief idea that may work for this but I could roll something else if needs be.
EDIT: I also have an idea for meat shield. Just came up with it.

On the plus side, even if halo and the col start to channel Tolkien, I won't have to effort that hard.

I don't believe I remember the barbarian of sophistication in Tolkien. my back up weapon/ magical item build was 2x rapiers and the cloak of charisma, except in the form of a top hat instead of cloak. And the gourmet chef profession.
