The salty air tasted good on the now full-grown mare's tongue as she opened her mouth in a bit of silliness to the wind. Everything seemed a bit different now, and she understood exactly why that had to be. Goodness she was much taller for one! The golden bay mare stretched out one of her forelegs and pawed at the sands, eagerly arching her neck as she did so. And the flying. God, the flying was the best! Although, she wasn't too great at it yet, in fact she had hardly mastered landing, and sometimes take off coule be a bit difficult, but that was neither here nor there. She could fly!

With a rather pleased look on her muzzle, the mare spread her wings and gave them a mock flap, enjoying the how they felt against her. Maybe she could persuade one or more of her family members to go for a mid-afternoon flight today? Oh goodness, how much fun would that be? Needless to say, Tehya was feeling very high on life right now, and was more than willing to express it. "Isn't today just perfect for flying?" she mused aloud.

The young mare tossed her head, flinging her lengthy white mane to the other side of her arched neck as she pawed at the sand with a golden hoof. "It is!" And by the gods, it was! The sun was shining, but not too brightly so it didn't reflect too harshly off the rolling surface of the ocean, and the wind wasn't very strong at all either! She reared suddenly, flapping her wings a bit and pawing at the salty air with her forehooves while loosing a delighted whinny. When her golden hooves landed, she burst into a dancing prance around her golden-brown tree sister. "We should go flying! Do you want to come, Tucker-waru?" Oh, she was just itching to stretch her wings and feel the wind whipping through her mane!

The stallion chuckled, ruffling his wings a bit before folding them at his sides, turning slightly to face his younger sisters better. "Humm.. You two can go, I think I'll stay down here for a bit. I like how the water feels right now," he said with a lop-sided grin while lifting a dark golden hoof, then stomped it into the rippling water, flinging droplets everywhere. "But you two have fun, I might join you in a bit. Just make sure you don't crash into anything," he added with a chuckle.

Oh drek, she hoped they didn't crash! She was fine in the air though, just.. sometimes take offs were kind of hard, and landings were especially hard, but she didn't do too badly usually.. Oh goodness, she didn't want to crash! But, maybe she wouldn't if she and Tehya flew together? Yes, they would anyway, and two sets of eyes were better than one. How would they crash if they had that many eyes watching where they were going?

Tehya gave a mock huff as she flapped her wings against the sands again, sticking her tongue out at their brother. "If you say so Tucker-waru, we'll be better fliers than you in no time", she jested, prancing over to Rose and swishing her tail in high spirits. "I'll meet you in the skies!" the golden bay whinnied, springing forward as she did so and spraying sand in Tucker's direction. If she was lucky, it would stick to his lower half where he was already wet from pawing at the water. A grin escaped her at the thought, as she enjoyed playing with her siblings.

Before he could retalliate however, Tehya flung herself forward to sprint down the beach. It was much easier to run on the sands than it had been when they first arrived, but she still found herself stumbling every once in awhile. Hopefully that wouldn't happen now, while she was attempting to take off.

Her feathered wings outstretched and she gave several hard flaps while trying to catch the wind underneathe them, and felt her body jolt forward in response. However, she wasn't quite off the ground just yet. "Almost there", she murmured, and leapt upward while giving another hard flap, relieved to feel herself lift off from the ground instead of coming back down to the sands. The first few moments in the air she struggled to get herself up while flapping and rotating her wings, but eventually she climbed high enough to where she was able to level off and and allow the winds to carry her. "Phew, that was a rush!" she called.

"Hey!" The slender stallion said as he backed up a step or two, instinctively expecting sand to spray up towards his face, but she merely got his hooves and fetlocks. Oh, well that wasn't too bad. He grinned and chuckled, opening his mouth to offer a retort --

-- but before he could, Rose did the same thing as her sister. With a gleeful whinny she sprang forwards, spraying sand towards her elder sibling before galloping down the stretch of beach. Her mane and tail flung out behind her as she stretched out and gave several beats of her wings, which she tilted upwards, and leapt into the air in the hopes an updraft would help carry her up. She thought take offs were supposed to be easy! It was the landings that were hard!

Luckily for her, a gust of wind blew beneath her wings and carried her higher, and with a grin she flapped her wings and followed her tree-sister. "Yeah, we'll be way better than you in no time!"

All he could do was laugh, very tempted to show them how to perform a real take-off. "You wish! But first you have to master take-offs! ...and landings! Then maybe you can start working towards beating me!" There, let them chew on that for a while. He didn't mean it to be mean, of course, but oh, how he loved teasing his younger sisters.

It always felt strange to be up in the air for the first minute or so, for it seemed almost unlikely that a simple wind to carry large bodies like nequus on their drafts. However, the proof was here, they were flying, and it was definately possible. Tehya had spent some time thinking about the subject, but had determined that she needed to study her wings further before she came up with a definate answer. Oh well, it was best to just enjoy them then.

She chanced craning her neck back to flash a grin toward Rose, happy to be flying with her tree-sister. Now then, what could they do up here? Hmm. As she thought, she could have sworn she saw a flash of unnatural green off in the corner of her vision toward the beach, but easily shrugged it off and banked toward the ocean to fly over it for a little.

The days were short, the nights were long, and Zak was all the more grumpy for how long it had taken him to travel from Shrilal to Quirne. It didn't help that his sense of direction was misguided due to the 'floating' thoughts he had often enough. Floating, because that's what it felt like to him. They were thoughts that sounded like him, but at the same time he couldn't be sure if it was really his concious mind or a dream anymore. Parasites. Those freaking parasite had done something to him when they sucked his energy, he was certain. They crawled under his skin, poked around in his head, and had stolen valueable energy that had left him tired and weak for what seemed like months. He was glad to be rid of them now, glad to finally put enough distance between him and the life-draining hive of parasites that hid in that wicked tree.

But some part of Zak was still wary of them. Any time he felt tired or cold he blamed it on the fact the parasites were still burrying themselves into his brain and eating his flesh from the inside. Some of them must have still been in his body then. When they fell. And hit him. Parasites! "AaaugGHhh!" the stallion roared in frustration, stumbling on his hooves as he attempted to both pound them into the sand and strike at his barrel at the same time. He wanted them out! It was infuriating that they still clung to him no matter what he did, burrying deeper. Several times Zak had taken to extreme measures, and bit deeply into his own flesh in an attempt to draw them out by force, but was unsuccessful. He had merely made festering and poorly healed wounds upon his hide, for any time they tried to close up he would bite or strike or rub at them again.

During his travels he had hardly noticed he had already been in Quirne for a solid two weeks, and now he wasn't even aware of his approach to a single mostly white stallion. The only thing that mattered at the moment was the parasites, and trying to get them out of his body.

Rose always had a similar feeling whenever she gained altitude and fully flew for the first couple of minutes. It felt so surreal, as if she must be dreaming or something. But there she was, gliding over the rippling ocean with the salty wind whipping her mane and tail back like snowy white banners. Returning the grin to her sister, a sly look crossed her features as she angled her wings upward, and soared higher as the wind blew beneath her feathered wings. Flying was so much fun!

She angled them downward again, perhaps a bit too much, and swooped down at a steeper angle than she'd anticipated. If she hadn't been panicking, she might've caught the blur of green and swirls, but as it was, all she could concentrate on was not crashing. With a surprised squeak, she quickly angled them up again, flapping frantically once or twice before she regained her altitude and leveled off. Phew! That was close!

"Hey!" Tucker called loudly, giving a nervous few flaps of his brown-tipped wings as he pranced forward a few steps, away from Zak and toward where his sisters were flying. "You be careful up there! I don't want to be the one to tell ute and riruy that one of their daughters got herself turned into a flattened elppa!" Gods, they needed to be careful! Hopefully they'd get the hang of things soon, and would be able to fine tune their angling and every other aspect of flight that they probably hadn't even though of yet. He heaved a sigh, flicking his snowy tail as he continued to watch the pair like a hawk, much too busy to notice the green brute nearby.

Tehya caught a glimpse of her sister's daring swoop and nearly forgot to watch where she was going as for a brief moment she was stuck watching one of the scariest things she'd seen in her life. Her gut had gone icy and her mouth had gone agape, ooooh, but luckily nothing bad had happened. As Rose finally pulled up Tehya breathed a heavy sigh of relief, and returned her attention to where it should be- and realized she had drifted too far down while watching her sister. A quick jerk upward followed by a mighty flap of her wings set her right though, and she couldn't help the bit of nervous laughter that came out. "That was a clsoe one!" Tehya called to Rose, referring to the swoop once more.

Something up ahead caught the brute's attention, noise. A squeak and a voice. Something about it brought his head out of its downward spiral and forward once more into a brief moment of clearity. Up ahead the crimson eyed stallion spotted a white figure. Who was that? Parasite, parasite, parasite. Those words echoed in his mind once more as he reminded of the earlier subject, and zack swung his head around to savagely bite into his leg, gnawing at the imaginary parasites he could 'feel' squirming underneath.

When he brought his head back up he noticed the flapping of feathered wings. Brown-tipped. A flash of something struck his memory, but it was vague and hardly a whisper above the parasites he knew were there. Somehow the large aeri continued forward, in a gait unnatural to a healthy nequus. He swerved without direction, bobbed his head in an unfocused manner, and occassionally swung a hind hoof up to knock into his barrel, which would upset his balance and cause him to stumble slightly in his hesitated step. The closer Zak drew to the figure, the more details he could see. The more details that came to his sights the more maddening his mind became, until it finally became unbearable. Golden hooves, white body, brown tipped wings, and most of all... a golden reya horn. Thoughts of Aitumn came to his mind. Thoughts of... thoughts of... he wasn't quite sure.

Suddenly Zak stopped, no more than a few yards away from Tucker at this point, however he still not utter a word. As he stood there in a stupor, head bobbing quite out of habit at this point, his crimson eyes glazed over as if they were seeing nothing at all. Parasites. Parasites. Cross-breed parasites. Aitumn. Words tumbled around his mind with little meaning- for the moment.

The elder of the trio sighed again, shuffling his wings a bit to calm down. She was fine, they were both fine, just... a close call. At least she had the sense and ability to bring herself back up, because he really didn't know what he'd tell their parents if something bad had happened to either of his younger sisters...

Rose managed to catch up to her tree-sister and flashed her a bright smile, hiding just how much that little stunt had scared her. "Ha! That was fun!" She said to Tehya, before turning her eyes down onto the beach, scanning the stretch of sand for their brother while consciously reminding herself to keep her wings straight, and not angle them downwards by accident. That happened when she looked down sometimes, and it wasn't fun at all!

But, aha! There he was! Oh, and who was that near him? It was a green nequus, an Aeri he looked like. But.. what was wrong with him? He kept bobbing his head, and even though she was higher up she thought she could see some spots on his coat. Did he get hurt? Goodness, he looked rather strange. But Tucker hadn't noticed yet, and she didn't want either of them or their brother to look rude, so she flashed another bright smile and said loudly, "Hello!" There! Hopefully they'd heard that.

Stormy eyes glanced back up at the skies and focused on his sisters. Why would Rose say hello? Odd. Unless... She wasn't talking to him. Huh. Was she talking to someone else, someone he hadn't seen yet? He glanced to either side of him, then half-turned and gave a slight jolt as he saw the green swirled Aeri, surprised there was someone behind him because he hadn't even heard him coming, although no hint of recognition crossed his features yet.

But those same stormy eyes widened slightly, as old memories he'd forgotten from so long ago crept into the back of his mind again for the first time in quite a few seasons. Green. Green swirls, and more green. Green thing.

...oh, drek.

He gave a more violent jolt as the memories of Zak flooded into his mind, his eyes as wide as a fruit as his ears pinned themselves back against his head. "You--" He choked out, unable to say anything else. Oh gods. Oh drek, it was the green thing, he was back now and he was here, and looked like he'd gone through the forests of Casa Tiner and back again. Oh gods, he was back and here he was, standing within a few yards of him and oh gods, his legs didn't want to move. All Tucker could do was stand there, completely frozen, staring at the frighteningly huge Aeri before him. Mad, that was it. He looked positively mad. He'd never seen anyone look so beaten, with their head constantly bobbing like that. He managed to take a few steps backwards, eyes still focused on the green thing before him, his mind currently galloping along on one thought: Drek.

Tehya merely giggled at her sister as she smiled, for it was worth, she still remembered Rose's squeak not a moment before! Ooh, she'd have to tease her about it sometime, maybe when they landed, and maybe Tucker-waru would join in as well! The golden bay mare whinned at the prospect, and shifted her wings to turn back toward the shore. For some reason, she felt less safe to fly the further out from the beach she got. Probably because she had no idea how far the ocean stretched.

Rose peeked her interest though when she shouted something out toward the shoreline, and Tehya instantly snapped her attention to the beach, wondering who all she could be talking to. Obviously it wasn't their brother, it would have been such a silly thing to say 'hello' to him at this point. She spotted the green creature next to Tucker, and for some reason, though she couldn't pinpoint why at this height, something just didn't seem right. "Y-yes, hello!" she called as well.

Still... something didn't sit right with the scene below. For one, Tucker looked strange from up here, and she couldn't tell, but were his ears pinned? That wasn't good. "I think we should land", Tehya called to her sister, a hint of concern around the edges of her voice.

Zak's glazed over eyes watched the young stallion before him and his reaction, head still bobbing in time with his jumbled thoughts.

'You--'

The stallion's head stopped bobbing, crimson eyes refocusing as some sense finally returned to the mess that he had become. Yes. Yes it was him wasn't it? Filthy crossbreed parasite. A memory fluttered past his mind and he remembered the first and last time he had ever been in Quirne. A running white crossbreed, vengence, golden wretch, and... and... Aitumn. It made sense now. Why he had left the parasites and the reason for even wanting them. With this recogniction Zak's head raised higher, crimson eyes slowly gaining a white rim as his muscles tensed in fury and hatred.

Now he remembered, now he understood what this white creature meant. "You", Zak resounded, and although it was firm, it was also flat. As if it were a simple fact. This time, he would not fail to get his vengence on Aitumn, he would kill his son and then he would go after the blood bay himsel-

Two pairs of voices caught his attention above for no more than a second, before his ears pinned against the sides of his skull and Zak resolved not to take his eyes off his most precious and treasured item of revenge. The stallion's lips curled back into a dark snarl of hatred as he prepared to charge forward in his mangled state.

Drek. Oh drek oh drek oh gods oh drek, he was going to die.

All Tucker could do was watch as the green brute's eyes focused and slowly gained a ring of white, as his head stopped bobbing and lifted slightly. Oh gods, he'd recognized him and now he was really going to die and oh gods, oh drek oh drek oh drek!

He managed to force his legs into backing up a step or two before he quickly turned and burst into a full out gallop down the beach, his first thoughts being to get away from this green beast as fast as he could. ...oh, oh! He cast his stormy eyes upwards, quickly looking for his younger sisters. "Run!" Well... "Fly! Don't come down, stay away from him!" He shouted as loud as he could, hoping to the gods the pair would hear him and heed his words. He lengthened his strides and veered to one side suddenly, remembering that the easiest way to avoid a giant brute trying to kill you was to swerve; he was too big to turn that suddenly and would lose speed. Hopefully. He chanced a glance behind him before turning his eyes skyward and snapping out his wings, giving them a few good flaps as he tried to become airborne.

"Okay," the snowy young mare said with a frown, and she carefully tipped her wings downwards, although she was very careful not to angle them too far down; she didn't want a repeat of what happened last time, after all...

But as soon as Tucker started running she swooped back up and regained a bit of height, half-circling before she heard her elder brother's words. Oh, goodness... This certainly did not look good, she realized as her ears flicked back. She swooped around, looking for her tree-sister. "What should we do?" Rose hated to hesitate with things, but she hadn't the slightest idea what to do. They couldn't fly forever, but why was the Aeri chasing Tucker? What was going on? "Maybe one of us should go get ute and riruy," she suggested. They should know what to do.
