Username: Wuyabi Character's Name: Guizu Youhai Caodihe Wuyabi, alias Gongzhu Mingxuan Gaogui Shiyan, alias Wanou, alias Poppy alias Agent Poppet of the G.I.B. Gender: Female My Brain is 53% Female, 47% Male What Gender Is Your Brain? Age: 546 years old (15 in Elven Years) Race/Species: Dark Elf Personality: Guizu Wuyabi of the Mingxuan-Youhai bloodline (or “Poppy,” as she likes to be called), is a very stubborn young elf. Her keen intellect, dry wit, and courtly persona mask an impulsive nature and fiery temper, and hundreds of years of coddling in the upper echelons of dark elven society have spoiled her to no end. For a very long time, whatever Poppy wanted, Poppy got; but a recent taste of life on the other side of the law granted Poppy an appreciation for chivalry, kindness, and the security the law provides. Almost paradoxically, however, a life spent cloistered and protected in underground palaces with nothing to read but dry dusty textbooks and tales of high adventure have instilled within Poppy a deep idealism (to the point of naïveté) an adventurous, risk-taking nature and a disturbing tendency to ignore the advice of her superiors. She is also terrifyingly ruthless in battle, and will stop at nothing until her opponent has fallen. Appearance: Poppy stands at 3 feet, 11 and ¼ inches, and weighs 100 pounds. She has a slight build, pale blue skin and luminescent purple eyes, and wears her long silver hair loose, though it is often covered by a hat or accented with a headband. She can occasionally be seen wearing thickly lensed, specially tinted coke-bottle glasses on harshly-lit days or unusually bright nights. Poppy favors conservative, comfortable clothing when out amongst the populace, but she has been known to change into more daring or elegant formal wear when she feels that the occasion calls for it. However, after pouring her gold into Halloween ’09, (otherwise known as The Great Gaian Disappointment) Poppy’s lack of funds, coupled with a misplaced sense of pride, has led her to dress in what she calls “ragpicker chic”. Background Story: On May 14, 1463, the Princess Shiyan was born to High Priestess Conglin Baihe Mingxuan and Chancellor Youhai Caodihe Xiaoyan. The two dark elves had made many previous attempts to raise a child, but all had failed: Two children had been stillborn, while two more had sickened and died in their infancies. Though sickly at birth, the little Princess Shiyan slowly grew stronger. Xiaoyan and Mingxuan were ecstatic; they doted on their child at every opportunity.
Xiaoyan taught his child the fighting arts and the ways of the court, while Mingxuan tutored Shiyan in the arcane arts and the study of ancient lore and legend. Shiyan rarely ever left the sanctuary of her mother’s grand church; her father and mother taught her lessons, and brought in many books for her. Shiyan contented herself with the safety and security of the printed page and her family’s love—until four years ago, when the aftershocks from the fall of Johnny K. Gambino’s tower prompted Shiyan to make an exploratory excursion to the surface world.
Blinded by the sunlight, and terrified by the destruction around her, Shiyan retreated to the safety of the Durem underground, privately cursing herself for what she perceived as her weakness and cowardice. Surely, she thought, the elven heroes of yore would face danger with songs in their hearts and brightly shining smiles! Shiyan trained herself to brave the harsh elements of the upper world for a year and five months. When she heard word of visitors from another world, Shiyan resolved to fight the threat despite her family’s protests, taking a new name to honor her father and reflect her new attitude: Lady Youhai Caodihe Wuyabi. For three years since, Wuyabi has defended Gaia, and sought out adventure.
Most recently, tensions with Wuyabi’s family have reached a fever pitch, resulting in her being sent to Juvie Camp, where she gained a new nickname (Poppet, or Poppy), forged an alliance with the kids from Science Camp, and gained a taste for law enforcement. As a result, she was accepted into the ranks of the G.I.B., but her hair trigger temper and tendency to mouth off to her superiors hasn’t earned her much in the way of respect. Additionally, her parents have cut off her allowance after Wuyabi joined the Benevolent Order of the Overseer and poured an obscene amount of gold into its funding.

Wuyabi is something of a steely-eyed ingénue; she is not one to let her faith in her fairytale ideals down, however misplaced that faith may be. To that end, Wuyabi fancies herself a “princely” knight errant, who rescues young men and women from any sort of beast, be it monsters or their own misconceptions. Anyone who is acquainted with Wuyabi has theorized at least once that all of this pretense may just be an excuse to participate in what Wuyabi has called the “exuberant chaos” of Gaia Up-World. When in the offices of the G.I.B., Wuyabi’s overly idealistic nature often prompts her to play Devil’s Advocate, she most recently presupposed Jack’s capriciousness in Halloween ’09 to be an inevitability, but was met with justifiable ire when she applied that same logic to the recent Gaian Nicotine Shortage.
How does your character know about the Crisis?-
Since her devastating defeat at the hands of Sentinel and Jack, Wuyabi has been dreaming of a mechanized angel, who always appears to be chopping down Gaians like wheat, and singing a dirge to awaken them once more. If nothing else, she knows that these visions bode ill.
Siding:
Wuyabi is willing to fight if it comes down to it, but for now, she is tired. She wants a quiet X-mas, and so is willing to observe the chaos as it happens, documenting it in her journal.
Powers/Abilities:
Physical:
Heightened Agility: Wuyabi has double the agility of the average human being.
Night Vision: Wuyabi has excellent Night Vision and can see in pitch darkness.
Resistance to Magic: Any Non-Sunlight based Magical Attack does only 40% of the damage it would normally inflict.
One With Earth and Darkness: Any Shadow, Earth or Plant based attack does only 40% of the damage it would normally inflict.
Magical:
Invisibility: If they are within five feet of her, Wuyabi can transform up to five people, including her, invisible for up to 10 minutes.
Stunflash: The equivalent of a tazer; if up to two targets are within six feet of Wuyabi, she need only point at them to either put them in a one-minute long world of pain, or (if they have previously been weakened or wounded) knock them unconscious.
Shadow Fog: If a target is within ten feet of her, Wuyabi can temporarily blind up to five people for five minutes.
Spiritual:
Astral Projection/Dream Walking: When in Deep Meditation, Wuyabi can enter the subconscious of others and communicate with them, and can escort herself and four others into a single person’s dreamscape for up to two hours, during which each member of the party has access to “astral copies” of all of the skills, abilities and gear he currently carries with him.
Prophetic Dreams: Once every week, Wuyabi receives a prophetic image in her dreams.
Weaknesses:
Bound by the Fae: Any human, alien, vampire, zombie, (but not elves, demon imps, or orcs) etc, who serves a god/dess of sunlight and knows Wuyabi’s full true name can bind her into temporary servitude. By calling out her full true name and saying, “I bind thee, and ask thee for a boon,” the speaker entitles him/herself to one truthfully answered question from or one action executed by Wuyabi, so long as the action does not directly harm Wuyabi, Wuyabi’s friends, or Wuyabi’s family.
Exorcism: Any member of a God/dess of Sunlight’s clergy may temporarily cast Wuyabi’s consciousness out of any mind, including Wuyabi’s own, by drawing a symbol of their religion on the body’s forehead, then saying, “I cast thee out, Oh Being of Night!” When this happens, Wuyabi’s consciousness will flee the body, and Wuyabi’s own body will be comatose for six hours. On awakening, Wuyabi cannot attempt to enter anyone’s mind for ten days.
Resistance to Magic: When used on Wuyabi, healing spells have only 40% effectiveness.
Sunlight and Air: Sunlight and Wind-based attacks do 40% more damage to Wuyabi, regardless of whether or not they are magic based.
Luddite: Technologically based attacks do 40% more damage to Wuyabi.
Weakest in the Day: Invisibility and Shadow Fog don’t work until sunset.
You Die For Real/Time Limit: When Wuyabi and her cohorts are Dream Walking, she is at greater risk than her party members. While the injuries received by her party members are illusory, the injuries received by Wuyabi herself carry over into the real world. Additionally, if she stays over the two hour time limit while in someone’s mental world, her party will immediately be sent back into their bodies, while Wuyabi runs the risk of permanently having her consciousness trapped within someone else’s form.
Hallucinations/Dream Warping: Wuyabi will begin to hallucinate on the day of her prophetic dreams, and will have trouble differentiating reality from symbology. Additionally, though her dreams are prophetic, they often foretell futures yet to be, or get mixed in with Wuyabi’s own personal dreams. Those with the same power as Wuyabi can, if they know of her abilities, manipulate her dreams to spread disinformation.
