I NEED FEEDBACK!!
My friends tell me it's good for the work of a sixteen year old, but they're my friends they have to say that!! I need pointers and people to criticise my work!! Please??
It's just something I wrote when I was bored, but still...
And I can't change the story either, it's based on a true story and I promised myself I wouldn't change any details...

“Stop! Seriously, Jeff, stop it! I can’t breathe!”

As the hands tickling my sides stopped torturing me and dropped away from my body, I started taking deep calming breaths. Just seconds ago I had been gasping for breath between peals of laughter. My torturer put his hands on my waist and turned me around so I was facing him. Looking at him, I couldn’t keep the grin off my face. “You suck.”

Putting a hand over where his heart was, he gasped dramatically. “That hurts. Right here. It really does Mia, you know that?” Rolling my eyes, I punched him on the arm. Just lightly though, I’d rather no one knows about the fact I’m not the weakling I’m supposed to be. Well, it makes sense in my world.

Jeff, real name William Jefferson, has been taking karate lessons for years and is the strongest of our group of friends. I’m not sure he’d be very impressed if he found out his girlfriend was the only one actually stronger than him. Because I’ve seen him fighting before, and while he does infact deserve his black belt, I know I’m better. And I’m not just being big headed. It’s so obvious he likes to think he’s the best though, because when I once let on by mistake that I also did karate, he was instantly on the defensive. Saying his style was better than mine and more relevant to the real world. I didn’t bother mentioning that I’d tried three different types of karate including the one he does and I only kept on the one that would help me in the real world.

I was lost in my own thoughts when suddenly Jeff tilted my chin up and leant down, pressing his lips against mine. I responded by closing my eyes and putting one hand on his back and, with the other around his neck.

“Ahem.”

Pulling away with a sheepish smile, I turn to face some of my other friends. In town today along with me and Jeff were the other four guys of our group; Peter, Zachary, Tobi and Charles. I know, I’m the only girl amongst a group of five guys, but that’s only because of Jeff.

Originally, there were two groups of friends. Five guys in one, five girls in the other. But then me and Jeff started dating and we sort of merged into one big group. But that’s only around school, out of school the groups hardly ever hang out. I’m the only exception, because I’m part of both groups. Well, actually, you could say the twins are exceptions too, but they only hang out because they have to. Because Zach has a twin sister called Vanessa. M other three ‘girlfriends’ are; Dina, Rebeccah and Evangeline. Evangeline, more commonly known as Eva or Thorn - Thorn being her last name - is my best friend ever. She’s the person I tell everything. My confidante. And lately, I’ve been telling her a hell of a lot of confidential things. Things you’ll probably realise pretty soon.

“Dudes, not cool! not in front of the kids!”

Obviously, my confusion at Tobi’s remark was evident on my face, because he laughed and gestured to the other three guys with us. Giggling, I shook my head at his idiocy and pulled away from Jeff, moving to the back of Tobi and jumping on his back, for once not even thinking about my weight. Wrapping my arms around his neck I giggled again as he caught my legs and held me up. Resting my head on his, I grinned happily. “To game! Onward, faithful steed! And the rest of you lower mules...”

As one the five of them starting walking out of the park we were currently in towards the store named game, where I was planning on buying a new 360 controller, because my last one broke. As all of them started talking with each other about a new game out I hadn’t bothered getting for the PS3 I closed my eyes, a smile on my face. I turned my head onto it’s side so my cheek was now resting on Tobi’s head and squeezed him slightly, like a hug from above. Something I’m sure he’s never endured before because he’s the tallest of us all at 6”2 or something. I’m only 5”9. Tobi didn’t respond in any way, but I didn’t mind. He was trying to put across some point about COD 4.2, the new game they all had, and literally nothing is more important to these guys right now than COD. Not even me. Which sucks royally.

It only took about five minutes for them to get to the store, being as we live in a small town. Half the places in the town center aren’t even proper shops, they’re cafes. If you ever want a coke or doughnut, there’s like a million different places you can which all specialise in different things. Which is uber annoying. In my opinion anyway. When we did get to the store however, the guys all huddled around one area and Tobi dropped me without warning. I squealed, making a noise much like a puppies yelp, and fell to the floor, landing on my back. For a few seconds, they all just stared quietly with wide eyes as I squeezed my eyes shut and bit my lip against the pain, but then they all reacted at once. Tobi’s hand flew over his mouth and he started saying sorry over and over, kneeling next to me and grabbing my hand. Zach and Charles both started laughing at me, being the more irresponsible ones of the group. Peter stared down wide eyed still, not sure of what to do. And finally, there’s Jeff. He knelt down quickly next to me and stroked my hair away from my eyes as I opened my eyes and let go of my lip, taking a deep breath. The only sound for a minute was Tobi saying sorry and the guys laughing, then I tried to sit up and they all started shouting at me, telling me not to. Glaring at them, I made a face.

“The only way I’m gonna forgive Tobi here for dropping me like a girl he’s been going out with for more than a week is if you all let me up.” They showed no inclination to move away from me, so instead I held up my hand. “Newly manicured hands are generally pretty sharp, so I suggest you all get out of my way.”

That got them moving, they all knew I didn’t mind scratching someone if they were getting on my nerves. I did it an awful lot at school. You could see them all rubbing their arms and pulling down the long sleeves they were all forced to wear wherever they went. Sitting up, I shook my head and stood up gingerly, rubbing my back. Looking at Tobi, I smiled lightly to show I was joking before speaking to him.

“Next time, warn me! I kind of like having my back aligned, it helps with the whole dancing thing thank you very much. I mean, I can hardly go on Pointe properly if my spine has shifted. I’d fall and break my leg. Possibly both.”

Tobi looked down at his drawn on converse as the others chewed on their lips and looked ashamed for him. I must be a good actress, making them feel bad so easily. Grinning, I hugged Tobi and told him I was joking. He flamed bright red and I pranced away, skipping over to where the 360 stuff was kept. Grabbing a controller, I made my way over to the tills, smiling at the shop assistant on my way. “Hey Steve, the nerds are over by the PS3 stuff.” Yeah, they come here so often they talk to him about the new games that are in and know his name. They knew him from his first day working here... That was seven years ago. We were all only nine (okay so Jeff was ten) and Steve was twenty-three, but he stood talking to us all for ages. We were all together for one reason that day; the twins parents had forced them to spend a day together. So all ten of us were down, and the guys wanted to go to game. I didn’t admit that I wanted to go to game too, but when they finally went I was happy. The other girls weren’t. They’re quite girly, not into games. Apart from Eva, but she was feeling quite ill that day and was only there because her parents couldn’t keep her in the house because they were having renovations.

Steve nodded at me slightly - he doesn’t like me much to be honest - and made his way over to where they were all standing talking loudly about Tobi being more careful. They’ll know that I’m fine, I always am, but for some reason they all think I’m this vulnerable weak thing that needs looked after really bad. Which I don’t. Need looked after, that is. I paid for my controller then skipped back over to them, slipping my arms around Jeff from behind and putting my head on his shoulder so that I could see the rest of the guys. As soon as they all caught sight of me, they all went quiet and Jeff started fidgeting.

Well, that’s not good.

Oh gosh, I'm so mad. I just spent at least a half hour reading your work and commenting, trying to help you out. Then, I tried to submit what I had typed out, and the time had expired, so my account had been automatically signed out. I lost everything that I tried to help you with.

I'll try to sum it up, but if you want my advice in more detail, I'd be glad to help you.

Okay, I like the idea for this piece, however, I think that it could use some definite polishing up. Your characters have unique personalities and I think that their personalities could become even clearer to the reader-- provided you take the time to revise this a little.

You have a strong voice as a writer, and it shows itself in your style of writing. I think that the piece could be improved, should you play around with creative word choice every now and again. There were a few grammar mistakes. Other than that, I really liked this piece. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter, provided you finish it and share that with us.

Keep writing. (:

((I'm dying to know what happens next, and have a suspicion that something's going to bud between her and Tobi, some sort of "growing love", so to say. XD))

Thank you so much for replying!!

I think the characters personalities will probably grow in the future, and you'l learn about them in the up and coming chapters, because I can't just describe characters. It bores me, and I figued if I'm bored of my work, other people will be too.

I'm gonna try and change my choice of words, because I know it's my biggest downfall of all. I love using the same words over and over again. I think I have favourite words. But arr well for me. And sorry about the grammer too, my only excuse is I'm Cumbrian (Northern England) and we all have the crappest grammer known to man. I'll try and keep my grammer mistakes to the talking the future, and get my old english teacher to go through it and correct my gramer. I tried as hard as I could to get rid of the Cumbrian, but it's really hard xD

And I've nearly finished the next chapter xD I get bored really easily, and I'm already on report at school so why bother working hard and stuff, there's really no point

And Tobi will probably come into it much later. I've got plans for him, but they don't come into full view for quite a while. The next chapter has two one of the next main characters in it too though ;D

No problem, that is, about replying. It's hard to find constructive criticism nowadays. All of my friends act the same when they read my work.

I've got a friend who's from Germany. She was too young when she moved to have the German really affect her grammar, but her mom has a very heavy accent and doesn't make sense sometimes. XD

She once warned my friend not to drop a glass of water by saying, "Don't let that cup get fallen," Or something close to that, I can't remember exactly. XD
