She was content to nap like a scarf around his shoulders as he flew...no she was not a morning creature at all now was she? Nope. Though she was surprised when she was given her feet again and they were at camp and apparently past the good part of the track. Sure they had a mirror but it was never as fun unless you were seeing it first hand. "So...where do you want us then. I have the feeling we're not allowed to wander and I can't just pay for food here either."

glancing at the hyena trying to hide behind him.
"and you are welcome here. no need to hide. But you know this race is dangerous. you know many riders die on it. why would you two want to follow them through the track? you know they'd run you over before even realizing you were there."
They came across the rider...or what was left of her, not to far after seeing the mount. heat fissures were billowing about them, sending up superheated air that could melt flesh...and she had obviously ran afoul of them. probably one had spooked her mount, she'd been thrown, and landed on another that had done the damage of searing off half the flesh of her head, neck and shoulder. the look of surprise on the half that was recognizable as a feline humaniod probably was the reason there had been no scream. she'd been dead before she'd been able to.

A good explanation he didn't really have, his brothers had always followed the race and had never let him come along. He had thought he'd be able to follow just fine...
Yeesh, that was unpleasant. She felt like she should do something...but what? They couldn't drag her out of this place, too long and too slow. Throw the rest of her body into the heat? Was that paying respects or insulting...
But no matter, Genghis had moved on before she could fully decide what to do. But the cat woman served as a reminder, Robin did her best to stay calm and keep still, letting the wolf pick his way as he wanted.

"Alright, free meals are awesome." Though she wasn't above using the cute face to get any either. "Um hello...we're kids. It's what we do." Rolling her eyes like he should know that. "You know you're giving us mixed signals by telling us 'just to stay in camp' but at the same time you don't want us wandering. You're being a bad father figure." Yes she was tormenting him because she could.

before glancing at the hyena child and knowing what his family was already going to be doing. That was no secret either. the hyena clan and some of the other unsavory of other clans were known to scavenge off the dead or finish off the dying of the race as well.
"You know, not everything that your kin do is something you should want to do or see. you shown yourself better then that with Nyelle. I'd like to keep that trend going."
He was moving at a very slow pace, relative for what he could do. unlike the lizard mount that had thick scales for this kind of place, he had to be far more careful. but the next leg was where he was going to shine, and he knew that.
especially if this human put him in his place as alpha without a fuss.
He lept across some chasms, skirted others. a few more places saw dead riders or mounts, some caught by steam vents, one that looked like the mount had caught it's leg in a fissure and snapped it. the rider had put it out of it's misery..and probably was wandering the lava fields attempted to find a way out.
probably the most disturbing was the half melted pile of rock that had a mount's head and a demi human's arm coming out of it. someone had obviously gotten caught in a lava flow.
