You'll also need a pal pad which is given to you by Teala at the Wi-Fi Club (downstairs portion of any Pokemon Center), and the friend codes of those you wish to battle.
As far as where to obtain these friend codes in order to battle, we have the Battle Park subforum for random "anything goes" sort of battles, Battle Tower subforum for more competitive-structured battles and the Wi-Fi League if you feel your team is up to the challenging and defeating our guild's current Wi-Fi Gym leaders.
