Just this evening, my mom called me at home to ask me to call around to some Justice for Kids stores to look for this: Click me for store listing
Anywho, so, I call a few places. Finally found one promising store, except the first call was a 'lemme check and get back with you' call. So I call again to confirm that the item was the one I was looking for and I get some chick named Jessica who goes, 'Tracy's not here anymore, she just left, let me put you on hold and I'll go look'.
I think I was on hold for like, two days.
So then I hang up, call again. I get this Jessica chick again.
'Ohai, yeah, we're really busy, could you call me back?'
So I wait.
I call back.
'Yeah, I meant like, 10 minutes??'
I call back. I get a Rachel.
'Lemme put you on hold, k? I'll go look.'
On hold for like, forever. So I hang up, call again. I get Jessica again later on, I'm calling now in a british accent. She goes and looks and says she doesn't have that shirt in size 18, like I was looking for.
I call again. I have another chick supposedly 'look' for it, nope, they don't sell that size.

My parents arrive there, dad walks in, grabs the exact shirt we're looking for, goes and pays for it, done. Finished. No issues.

I called later on and asked to let others know that it's a bit of an issue, busy store or not, that my dad who's only been there once can find something all of your employees see everyday. This girl, Lauren, asks me if I want to speak to her manager. I say no, but next time I'd love to.

Next time, we're settin' em up. I'm gonna call them while I'm outside the store and if they don't look for it, I'm calling them out on it.
Seriously. Do your friggin job. I don't care what time it is, how stressed you are or whatever. Be thankful you even have a job and do it right or else you'll be kissing your paycheck goodbye.

Discuss: shitty customer service.

-_- I wouldn't doubt it. I wish they had 50 year old moms working there. At least, things would get done then and children wouldn't be so heavily influenced by Barbie & friends working the register.

if it was this friday or saturday, then im not surprised they put phone calls on the backburner. what kind of store was it?
i work retail and when we are swamped with people inside the store we have to put ppl on the phone on hold for long periods of time. reguardless of if we want to do some ppl over others. regaurdless of how we work in busy situations in our store, they shouldnt of lied to you.
i would of talked to the manager about that.

Yeah, and there was one point where somehow my call got dropped? (I didn't mention it in my first post) and I don't know if it was our phone (it has pretty crappy reviews online) or if they hung up on me.

It was a Justice for Kids store.

I would have talked to the manager but I was honestly wondering what the manager would have said and decided I didn't want to be put on hold again. sweatdrop

Although, the next time I have to call for something and it happens again, I'll talk to the manager.
I can understand if it's busy, but, you have to put in some effort, you know? You can't just shrug things off. I know firsthand how customers should be treated because we get crappy service almost everyday and it's not a walk in the park. -.- Even people at the grocery store have issues....

I just got done with a 30+ hour workday, and I have more work tomorrow. And I might not get my vacation because of stupidity on their part. I'm not happy about that part at all. scream

Weird in a good way
<.< I'll go get didi

Okay, Julie. You know me! lol

Okay. I hate my job. Hate it. I am glad to have an income, but that's it. I have a boss who hates her life and takes it out on me and the rest of the staff.

I work at the public library. My job means I work with the public every day.

I hate my job. I have a messed up home life. I don't get enough sleep. I'm overworked, underappreciated, and miserable at work.

But the customer in front of me never knows. I give fantastic customer service no matter how I feel, how busy I am, or how annoying they may be. It isn't the customer's fault that I have problems. I don't take it out on them. If they are my customer, they are the most important thing in the world to me at that moment. Even if I don't feel it, I show it.

There is no excuse for bad customer service. I may not always be able to find what they need, but I will always do my absolute best to fulfill their requests, quickly and with a smile.

I expect the same service from others when I am the customer. Is that so much to ask?

Exactly! gonk
I've had to listen to my mother's complaints about what happened at whatever store she went to every other week. You'd think a golden rule would apply for stuff like this. I highly doubt that the employees who have shown complete disregard for customers would want the same to be done to them.
When I get a job, it's my understanding that people don't need the hassle of a disgruntled worker, no matter what's going on in their lives because all of our problems are different. If someone's got such a huge conflict in their life that it's causing them to behave poorly, they should have taken a day off. (I know I'd have to...my temper isn't easily controlled and I really don't want to lash out at someone because of something that had nothing to do with them in the first place...)
