Today’s lesson will simply be about learning the rune symbols for numbers 0 through 9. As of today, in Ancient Runes only, zero will be considered a number.
There will be some homework, and you shall either post it in 'Lesson 1 Homework' or PM me.
The number ZERO is symbolized as a Demiguise. Demiguise are magical creatures that can turn themselves invisible. Now, when something is invisible, you see ZERO of it, which is why the invisible Demiguise represents ZERO.
The number ONE is symbolized as a unicorn head. Unicorns, as you all should know, are most famous for their SINGLE (ONE) horn. As you can see, a pattern is evolving between the number and the symbol that represents it.
The number TWO is symbolized as Graphorn head. Graphorns are large, gray-purple, extremely dangerous magical creatures with TWO horns.
The number THREE is represented by a THREE-headed Runespoor. A Runespoor is a three-headed snake that is all connected. Each head has a special job, and if you want to learn more about all these magical creatures please go and ask the Care of Magical Creatures teacher.
The number FOUR: a Fwooper. Fwoopers are a type of magical bird that have many different color variations, yet they have nothing to do with the number 4.
The number FIVE is represented by a Quintaped. A Quintaped is a dangerous carnivore that is covered in extremely thick, red-brown hair. Quintapeds have FIVE clubfooted legs.
The number SIX is symbolized by a salamander. A magical salamander can survive out of fire for SIX hours, thus the salamander is the symbol.
The number SEVEN has not been discovered yet, however there are strange rumors that it many stand for You-Know-Who’s (Voldemort’s) SEVEN Horcruxes.
The number EIGHT is represented by an Acromantula.
Acromantula are huge, freaky spiders (no offense) that have EIGHT eyes.
The number NINE is symbolized as a Hydra. If you remember your Greek myths correctly, a Hydra is a NINE-headed monster, defeated by the great Hercules and all that nonsense.
