theres many gimp tutors on Imvu..
which is def helpful, they know more.

What tutorial you should use depends on the amount of skill you have using the Gimp and Photoshop. If you've never used photoshop or Gimp you should look up beginner gimp tutorials that can teach you things like layers, you can find these on youtube and deviantart easily. If you already know photoshop just play around with the gimp interface for a bit and you'll find that you already know what most of the things do. My advice is using youtube and searching "Gimp Tutorial".

I know that deviantArt has a number of GIMP tutorials for various things. I could be wrong, but I think they might actually have a category dedicated to it.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about GIMP anymore. Certain changes have rather irritated me, so I rarely even touch it anymore.
