Winteridge is the name for the range of cliffs that line the western coast of Palaise, stretching all the way from Blackburn Downs to Valcrest Harbor.Countless paths lead precariously close to the edge of the land, and if one would look over, he would see an endless blue ocean, with waves crashing endlessly up against the sheer, rocky dropoff. The only noise he would hear, of course, would be those waves, for the silent Syrens never utter a word unless they are forced.
The Syrens are a female race of hunters with lifespans ranging anywhere from 3,000 to 9,000 years, equally at home on land or in the water. They reside in cliffside caves. As they die, they are reborn from the seas. They are the mothers of the vicious Halfbloods that now inhabit the ruins of Barrowdale. They rarely open their eyes and communicate telepathically with their sisters.
The Winteridge paths lead anywhere, even out into the middle of No-Man's Land, and across docks and bridges through the entire Erimarsh Swamp. Many of those roads are untraveled, and wisely, for rarely do travelers risk their lives away.
