Mellyana smiled. A scaleless one! Perhaps she had seen one before her sister! She rushed to meet him.
"Hello, scaleless one! Welcome to Kasyune! My name's Mellyana, but you can just call me Melli. I love to swim. Don't you? Oh, and singing, too! I just love, love, love to sing!" Without pausing for a breath, Melli began singing, rather loudly, a lullaby her mother had taught her.
"Oh sleep, dear child,
Oh, rest your head,
And dream of love
And do not dread
The morning come,
For when you wake,
I shall be here
For smiles to make."
Besides the volume, Melli was actually quite good; she did not know it, but she was a descendant of a long line of talented musicians and singers. Suddenly remembering what her mother had said about singing to strangers, (how they might not like it) Melli stopped singing. However, her speaking did not stop.
"Isn't it great? Oh, I just love it! And it is so much fun! My heart just soars when I sing, and everyone loves it! Don't you? Don't you just love it when I sing?" Her voice was bubbly and nearly overflowing with excitement.
[Just realized I had made the "lullaby" to the tune of the beginning of Sussex Carol! 0:03-0:13
here, but lots slower]
