Since preseason I've been looking at this game as a pretty even matchup. I don't think either defense will do too great. I'm giving the edge to the saints simply because they are in the dome.

I agree^ Saints offense is just tooooo high powered. Also, with Darren Sharper as their safety I dont see the pats doing to much on the offensive side of the ball.

Patriots will give the Saints their first loss of the season this week, tbh. Sorry Brees.
Should be a pretty good game. As much as I like the Patriots-Colts Rivalry (And all the games are good) I say this will be a better game. A more evenly matched out team. Saints and Patriots have a great passing game, pretty good run game, and nice Defense. Unlike the Colts, the Saints Pass D will be alright, with the Patriots a pretty good Pass D themselfs.
Game of the week Perhaps?

3 points is most definitely not an a** whooping and may i remind you that the Rams came within 3 points of beating the Saints where the game ended 23-20 soo..id say their offense isn't too high powered for the Patriots defense because you saw what the Patriots D can do with the passing game picking off Mark Sanchez 4 last week, 3 by Bodden. I know Mark Sanchez is no Drew Brees, but all quarterbacks make mistakes. Drew Brees will make a couple, helping the Patriots seal in a victory over the Saints. If Belichick doesn't make a ridiculous call this week.

This will be a close one from 3-13 point projection but i'm giving both teams advantages and disadvantages
Saints: Advantages- 1. Home-Field Advantage( The Superdome is a LOUD stadium, and always a tough place for oppents to win in.) 2.Pass Offense- Drew Brees will be under pressure but won't have a bad game, expect him to bust out a lot of plays, and if they cover Colston there's always Shockey, Thomas, Meachem, and Moore(if he's healthy then) 3. Secondary- Darren Sharper, the QB of the defense will have to make big, along with Randall Gay, Sabathia Greer, and Tracy Porter, they can stop the deep passes but i'm worried about Wes Welker more than Moss, expect the secondary to get at least two turnovers.
Disadvantages- 1.Big Opponent- Even though they lost three the pats are a good team, this will be the toughest game for the saints in the regular season, and hope they won't flinch aganist them, if they almost beat the colts, then they they could beat them. 2. D-line- Now yes, saints massacred the giants and there so-called o-line, and phily too, this is the patroits, and the saints haven't faced them in well over eight years, it will be hard for the saints to corner brady, but if they get Ellis back in, expect some big breaks fo them. 3. Special Teams- Let say it this is the saints biggest weakness need i say more?
Patroits Advantages- Pass Offense- This will be a battle of QB's, Brees and Brady, i beleve brady has only two big time receivers, Welker and Moss, but they have the ability to move quick and strike fast, unless the saints secondary can stop them, one will have a good game. 2. Special Teams- Well they have welker and can make big plays so this a big area new england can scuff up on the saints. 3. Linebackers- The Saints rushing attack will have a hard, hard battle aganist them, this linebacker corps can turn around the game quick.
Disadvantages 1. Coach Management- Need i say more, gambling bad!!! 2. Rush Offense- Same comparison with the saints hard batle for both teams.

Well it looks like the saints should have Sedrick Ellis back for the game, which helps with both the run defense and hopefully creates one-on-one matchups for the saints DE's. Porter definitely won't play, but I'm pretty happy with Jenkins' first game with significant field time (7 tackles and a pick I believe).
Being a saints fan I don't want to really say much bad against them, but I can see Welker hurting them a good bit since they have struggled against the faster receivers. I can see Welker going for 100 yards and possibly a td, as well as moss going around 60-75 and a td. It will not be a low scoring game by any means.
A big factor to watch will also be if Bush can play for the saints and, if so, to what extent. While I don't consider him a game changer by any means, the threat of a pass to him would sure help in opening up space for Brees to look deep for his receivers.
My prediction for the game is a saints win 31-27.

Wow, thats all I have to say. Pats Pass D was terrible, sorry to say. But its true. Brees was a beast, and I have to give them credit. But the Patriots should have ran the ball on the outside more, and a few more Screens to the HB's in some scenarios. But, Good game Saints, you deserved it. Just hope you lose someway along the season.
