When I first listened to the song, Iowa, I thought it was, in a way, a love song. I dare you. All of you, listen to the song again and listen to the lyrics very hard. NOW, in a way, dosent it sound like a love song???

It is a love song. It's about dominating someone, controlling them, owning them.
Dur.

Koля Them repeatedly using the word 'love' in the song should be a pretty obvious hint.

Fear Loops It is a love song. It's about dominating someone, controlling them, owning them. Dur. Ok, well I see where you can get that idea. Well, thats what I meant by a disturbing love song. It also sounds like it could be about someones first killing, or something around that.

"You are my first, I can barely breathe I find you fascinating You are my favorite, lay you down to sleep It's all that I can do to stop Love"
You're reading way too much into it.

Fear Loops "You are my first, I can barely breathe I find you fascinating You are my favorite, lay you down to sleep It's all that I can do to stop Love" You're reading way too much into it. Am I? Because I had my other friends, who are slipknot fans, read the lyrics to this song. THey all said, sounds like that guys talking about his first murder or killing or something. One of them suggested that he's already killed her, but like he feels he has a connection with the already dead and probably bloody body. I dont know, but I cannot see this as a normal love song.

... is anything that Slipknot writes considered "normal"? Not really. I'm not saying that it isn't possible. I just think you're kind of wasting your time theorizing. You were right, by the way. You would have known that if you would have simply looked it up. black-goat.com Iowa - This 15 minute mammoth is a reworking of the original, Killers are Quiet that can be found on MFKR. The meaning is basically the same as the one from MFKR. The song is about someone who kills women and recreates them in his own image, like a living doll type thing. Corey was butt-naked and all cut up and bleeding during the recording of this song.

Also, I would really advise you to not seek advice from other people simply because they like the band. In this case they were right, but they may not be for other things.
Slipknot has sort of a ... tarnished reputation right now. Their fanbase has gone from loyal, somewhat intelligent fans to 12-15 year old kids who just want to rebel against their parents and become obsessed with the "shock factor" of listening to Slipknot.
The band has lost a lot of fans who actually have a feeling for the music and aren't caught up in teenage angst.

i agree with fear....alot of people dont know anything about slipknot...but true maggots need to stand strong and follow their guidance instead of pussing out just because the fan base changes
