Um, so here's my attempt at a long story short. High School I was fat, no one ever told me, I was oblivious, but once I lost the weight and looked back, I was in disbelief. Anyway, I hit a plateau at around 135lbs, my goal was 130lbs, I figured 5 more pounds would = a flatish belly. The past 2 summers, I've been working a a bike patroller, doing around 50k a day. Last winter I hit a new low on the scale after getting dumped and turning into a health food nut. (by healthy I don't mean no fat, I mean, organic, whole grains, no artificial crap etc). During the summer I got tons of exercise, and I ate very healthy. I stayed around 128-130lbs.
Okay, so now this is where it gets slightly complicated. I'm applying for a medical study. Which will pay off all my debts and allow me to focus on my school and not worry about money. The thing is, as I'm now on the lower end of the healthy scale for blood pressure and BMI (still in the healthy range but towards the lower end of it) and these companies want people on the higher range, basically they don't want light weights who will feel light headed after a few blood draws. I may not even pass my medical exam. Which is this Monday.
So for the past 2 weeks, I've been eating mostly crap. I had a double cheeseburger from McDonnalds as an after school snack. I've had pogos and poutine more times in the past month than I have all year.
And yet, I seem to have LOST weight... gonk
This morning I weighed in at 126.4 but I'm not happy with this at all. I know the only reason I weigh this is because I've lost muscle mass because my stomach is bulgier and my love handles are coming back. I'm really frustrated. I can't gain weight even with the extra fat but I've lost all my muscles.
I'm also really hoping I can turn myself around after I get accepted. Go back to the health nut and slim body I enjoy.
Also, I was telling a friend of a friend about my snacking habbits, and he said to me good, keep eating like that otherwise you'll be see through.
confused Really, you think THAT will make me healthy, McDonnalds, not exercise and plenty of healthy foods. No, your suggestion is keep eating McDonnalds. I'm sorry, I get really frustrated with people like that. I felt like challenging him to a sit up competition. But he probably wouldn't be able to see his own knees lying down he's so fat. stressed

This is a bit of a disjointed rant, it seems like if you want to actually gain weight healthily you should be eating healthy protein sources and lifting weights specifically to build muscle. Like. Triple or quadruple your protein. You don't have to eat crap to gain weight, my mother is a prime example, she eats healthier than anyone I know and is still technically obese. All you need to do is eat extra. If you're looking for a short term gain before you weigh in for this thing, eat something salty the night before and down a few liters of water before the weigh in.

My problem is mostly my blood pressure is not high enough. It's not just extra weight I need. And I doubt I can drink 4lbs of water. Which is I think what I need to gain by tomorrow night.

Do they weigh you naked? If not... sneak some small, heavy items under your clothes?! xd
But after that you really probably should look into gaining weight in a healthy way (I think other people have the advice on that covered) 'cause the restriction is probably there for a reason.

I'm as healthy as a horse. I eat more than any of my friends. I just happen to eat healthy and exercise. The restrictions are there because they draw blood. Vets need animal donors and they have a weight limit. Not because of BMI but they just don't want to be drawing blood from little dogs. Same deal, it's more logical for them not to accept lil girls that might feel light headed when they take blood.
