((Ah, she's a Grimm. :0 From [here]. So, I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but...--technically she's based off the Briar Rose in the Grimm fairy tale. :3))

Straightening, Pukio cast a quick glance in the direction of the three children, scratching the side of her nose absently. "So, what element are they?" She asked abruptly, gaze swinging back to Anvion and Rune curiously. "Ryker's rook pie. He definately seems to be more fond of the bird bit than the pie part though..."
Ryker abruptly abandoned the grass pulling, employing his little hands to push himself up to his feet. Across the way, Pukio perched unconsciously forward, watching sharply. He wasn't too steady on his feet yet... --Nonetheless, after a bit of preliminary wobbling and fist shaking, he managed to gain his balance. At least, he managed to stay on foot until he could take a few awkward steps in Flitch's direction, using the boy's knee as a balance as soon as it was within reach.
"Ryk," he crowed cheerfully, one hand moving from Flitch's knee and waving absently at the boy's face. "Rkye."

"Yvette's zucchini." Rune grinned, watching the three children in amusement. Yvette's eyes were wide, and she clapped hard for Ryker, looking pleased. "She hasn't done more than crawl and scramble yet. You should see her move, though." She flicked a teasing look at Anvi. "Of course, her lungs are well developed, too. Anvi knows all about that."

Anvion winced before grinning, giving a nod. "Ahhh, yes. Yvette's an excellent screamer..." she laughed. "But yeah. Flitch is a fish. I don't think he's any specific type, though..."
Flitch grinned, returning the wave. "Hiya, Ryke." He was assuming that Ryke was a sort of nickname, seeing how he had just overheard Pukio call him Ryker. Nicknames could be so confusing. "I'm Flitch, and that's Yvette." He pointed at Yvette.

Pukio chuckled, stuffing her hands absently into the pockets of her jacket. "Yeah, Ryker just started walking a coupla days ago. --Well, not really walking. More like stumbling forward. Usually he can't make it more than a coupla' steps without flopping over on something. So far it's usually been something soft, but I'm just waiting for him to crack his head open on a coffee table or something; that'd be just my luck." Pukio winced, shooting the children a sidelong glance. She shook her head ruefully. Ah well; it was expected for kids to get bumps and scratches every now 'n then, right?
Ryker nodded somberly, glancing from Flitch to Yvette, apparently marking down the names in his head. Who knows how long the names would actually hold place, but it was the thought that counted. "'Itch, 'Vette," he gurgled cheerfully -- and then promptly became distracted by the funny shape of Flitch's ears. Mouth forming a small, curious 'o,' Ryker levered himself up with one hand, the other waving out and latching firmly on to the edge of the boy's ear. Weeeeird.

Rune nodded fervently. "Doesn't matter how many times you go through it, you ALWAYS worry when they start walking." She agreed. "When the quad set started toddling around, I thought I'd die. Lucky I don't usually get more than two or three around that age at a ti - " Pausing, she looked dismayed. "Aw, hell. This time it'll be five."
Yvette giggled. "Poy-ee ears. Ike elf!" She had elfin aunties, so she knew what she was talking about - mostly. "Fich read, bestest Sin."

With a small giggle, Anvion gave a shrug. "I've got Walter and Amaris to look forward to. Ah well," she gave a small shrug. "I still remember some old healing spells. If any of your kids gets a bruis eor somethin', semd them my way. I can patch them up quickly."
Flitch made a tiny wince as Ryker tugged a little too roughly on his ear, but his grin came back, this time a small blush accompanying it with Yvette's praise. It was kind of embarassing to keep getting such high compliments over and over from her, but Flitch was still rather pleased at being admired. "Yep, pointy ears." He agreed. "But I can do a trick! Watch!"
That said, he did a little trick hadn't done in... well, a while. He wiggled one ear, then the other, than both at once. It was kind of hard to do with Ryker clinging on to one ear, but he managed to do it in the end. Yay!

Pukio nodded, chuckling. "I haven't had to go through it yet -- he'll be my first. I got all my other kids after the whole gurgling and tripping over their feet stage. Granted, it is cute it that sort of immensely stressful way, so I suppose it's worth the trade off." She grinned, hands burrowing deeper into the pockets of her coat. "Thanks for the offer, by the by," she added, glancing quickl to Anvion. "I'm sure I'll be taking advantage of it at some point."
Ryker squeaked as Flitch's ears moved under his hand, snapping his hand back. He gawped openly at the wiggling ear, overbalanced, and flopped down on to his bum. The infant's short black tail feathers ruffled sharply. For a few seconds, ha stared at Flitch, and then began making pleasant, appraising noises, clapping his hands together somewhat clumsily. "Errs!" He called brightly, fingers moving absently to his own and tugging at the lobes.

Yvette gaped openly at Flitch for a moment before squealing and clapping her small hands as hard as she could. That was an AWESOME trick! None of her family could do that, not even Mommy! It was so cool! "Fich bestest Sin." She nodded firmly. "Read an do twiks."
Rune laughed, shrugging deeper into her own coat. "I've had several - it's enough to drive you crazy, but worth it in the end. As long as they don't give themselves brain damage, anyway." With Rin, she sometimes wondered, though she hadn't been there when the little kitsune was a baby.

Flitch laughed pleasantly, rather pleased with the good reaction his trick had made. "Hee! It's nothing too special, though. I've seen people do cooler things..."
With a small giggle, Anvion nodded. "Indeed. Brain damage can suck. Mum always wondered if I smacked my head on something as a kid..."

Yvette blinked. People did cooler things than wiggle their ears? Well, she supposed he had a point. "Fich still coowl." She grinned at Ryker. "Wiker pway?"
